Well, whoever wasn't chosen was going to be extremely hurt. He made mistakes, but he had to choose somebody, and break up with lots of others. That's the way it goes! I hope he's happy, and his relationship works out well.

I think Gerry seems different tonight. Something is off to me with him. I think he is a hair bit of a bull shooter. I also noticed his family didn't show much emotion when Leslie was talking.

To the person that decorated the platform: less is more. Sheesh.

Gerry mouthing what Theresa is saying while she's saying it -- LOL! Kind of an old guy thing to do!

Kristin Baldwin in her recap, mentioned they must have filmed the "walks" ahead of time, so we got to see a glimpse of the $60,000 dress in a preview. I tried to upload a photo, but was having trouble, so if you're interested: Youtube
I'd say maybe $600, overpriced at $6000, but no way is that worth $60,000!! She must have misspoken! And at the time of that filming, did she know already? She barely looks like she did her hair.

I was just disappointed the way he obviously made Leslie feel he really lead her on. The hurt she felt was shown all over her face, and that's not cool. I know when there's only two left at the end, it appears either could be the final one..but where it goes beyond that for me is when they make promises and I love yous to both.

We all knew she wasn't the F1 but as soon as they left his family and walked outside it was very obvious she wasn't the one and she picked up on that real quick. That little pause he did was so obvious. I feel when they tell more than one person I love you it is inflicting intentional hurt up on the one not chosen. That is just my opinion.

When they cut to commercial, I thought Gerry's other women looked upset about the situation w/Leslie. I thought so, too. Sorry, Gerry. You don't tell someone they're "the one," and then try to justify it later by saying that's how you felt at the moment. Of course whatever we say is how we feel at the moment, but he could have been more careful and understanding of her feelings and how she would take that. It sounded pretty definite, and apparently he said a lot more that night, too. I can understand why she was so hurt and confused that 12 hours later, he chose someone else.

Though that morning didn't she say that something changed or was it just their body language that looked more distant. I think he really liked Theresa all along but went gaga for Leslie and got caught up in it. She was quite forward the whole time and he liked that, most guys would. But a cooler head prevailed and it turned out he wanted someone who puts him at ease. I get a feeling he is someone who gets carried away with things (as we saw in that story) and perhaps his late wife was someone who calmed him and kept him "in line" so to say.

I also think Leslie gave off a "rescue me" vibe and Theresa didn't. Maybe he just didn't want to rescue someone again?

I don't have a problem with anything Gerry did. I believe him when he said he felt Leslie was the one at the time. What is wrong with that? Even during the final rose ceremony, Teresa wasn't confident it was her. Most importantly, it is not as if Gerry made up his mind early on, and nearly everyone else fell into the "matter of time" category. Before the Fantasy Suites episode, it looked like Teresa was sitting on the back burner until she reintroduced herself to him. Gerry even said, until then, he had begun distancing himself.
This Bachelor show is so much better than the other crap the Bachelor franchise has shoveled out of late. The bottom line is that no contestant or the lead was there to pursue a social media, spokesperson, acting career or promote something other than finding love.
From a logical perspective, I feel Gerry has more in common with Teresa than with Leslie. Her life is more flexible. Her backstory of being a widow married to her high school sweetheart for decades aligns much more closely with his. I'm sure there is much more sitting on the editing floor that we don't know. Last night, we learned Teresa is a great kisser. In other words, the woman has pillow lips, and who wouldn't be into that?
I am not taken in by the TPTB's "extra" marketing move by dropping the six-year-old Carolyn story onto that gossip reporter's lap. If we carefully consider everything reported, Gerry was into Carolyn until she moved in and did everything politely possible to get her to move out. The fact that he refused to let her stay until she completed her "leaving the job notice" says more about her to me than him. In other words, he didn't trust she'd leave. Plus, what's this BS about cherry-picking Gerry's past to represent him as a maintenance man because someone working as a maintenance man isn't good enough? Moreover, who keeps text messages from a six-year-ago short-term relationship? That's reasonable?
This season was hugely successful, and Gerry and Teresa survived the regular Bachelor Franchise treatment. Bravo!

I honestly think some people are really running away with this saying how much the hate him, how he is this and that. Geesh. Some people need to get a grip. It is just a TV show. One article and some have it all figured out. Again, the truth is in the middle somewhere. We were not present for any of this. Have we even seen this mysterious Carolyn?
