See the 'Vintage-Inspired' Engagement Ring Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner Gave to Theresa Nist (Exclusive)Turner chose a princess cut diamond ring accented with two baguette cut diamonds, and further set with 128 small, round brilliant cut diamonds for a total weight of 3.15 carats. The ring was handcrafted and hand signed by Lane, who revealed to PEOPLE why designing this ring felt so different from the past engagement rings he has crafted for Bachelor nation winners. he famed celebrity jeweler noted that The Golden Bachelor has “brought a lot of people closer together” with its honest depiction of finding a second chance at love later in life. For Lane, this made crafting Nist’s ring all the more special. “I think maybe we were losing the significance of a ring for a while, and now we have two people that really... that significance of the ring, even though it's a small little jewel, it embodies their affection, their future, their lives together,” he says. “It's more profound in a way… maybe it's a different profoundness.” people.com/see-the-vintage-inspired-engagement-ring-golden-bachelor-gerry-turner-gave-to-theresa-nist-exclusive-photos-8409548

Gerry Turner Believes ‘Fate Played a Hand’ in His Decision to Move to Charleston with Theresa Nist (Exclusive)From The Bachelor Mansion to a sprawling Southern dream home! After getting engaged on Thursday’s Golden Bachelor finale, Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist tell PEOPLE they plan to start their lives together in Charleston, South Carolina. “One of the things that I think fate played a hand in is the possibility of where we might wind up living,” Gerry says. “For the last couple of years, when my family gets together, I've talked about moving to South Carolina, and it's an idea I've toyed with. And then in conversation with Theresa, a private moment, she's saying, ‘Well, yeah, my son lives near Charleston in South Carolina.’” Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner Told Fiancée in the Fantasy Suite He Planned to Propose: ‘I Was Very Confident’ (Exclusive) Gerry currently lives in Indiana and Theresa hails from New Jersey, but that conversation made it easy for the couple to decide where they should reside. “And all of a sudden it's like, there's a big problem that is gone,” Gerry says. “The issue of compromising on where to live and how to reconcile families and all of that is, it's no longer an issue.” people.com/why-gerry-turner-and-theresa-nist-plan-to-move-to-charleston-exclusive-8409520?utm_campaign=peoplemagazine&utm_content=new&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_term=6569cbb6dc7f5c00015ab975

I enjoyed the show. I don't watch the regular bachelor anymore. I could relate more to the golden bachelor. If there is another one, he'll have big shoes to fill , to follow Gerry. Jmho

I agree that this season was much more relatable for me. However, probably because of the age of cast members, the show followed the premise, which makes TPTB's decision to drop the Carolyn (non) story all the more ridiculous. At least Carolynn, if that is her real name, has been smart enough to remain silent not to embarrass herself further.

It is really interesting the way things started to fall into place with these two. I'm glad they are making a fresh and new start.
And yea, if they have another, I'm all in. This was very, very enjoyable.

I think he is a bull shooter. I just caught bits and pieces of the season each week but watched it last night and it didn't take me long to pick up on that. He's not my cup of tea and I don't think he is a bad guy. I also think Theresa reminded him more of his deceased wife, good or bad I don't know. No skin off my backside what they do. Go have fun and enjoy life.

IMO - There are not a lot of men who look good in the current "unshaven" look. Gerry is not one of them. He looks like most of the retired men in our community who seem to shave once a week whether they need to or not. And most of them do.

Since Carolyn isn't her real name, she might as well be called Anonymous. I'm not saying her story isn't real from her perspective. I wasn't there and know nothing about it other than what each of them has said. I don't feel qualified to say who is right.

I'm an hour and a half away, it's one of my favorite places to visit.

I don't know which site is proliferating the current Bachelor craziness, but I can easily recall aftershow craziness happening before. For example, I distinctly remember outrageously embarrassing Bachelor fans planning and coordinating attacks targeting to end Molly's employment at Kohl's after learning Jason dumped Melissa and asked Molly for another chance. Ditto the outrage towards Arie and Lauren. I also recall the perfect swirl of psychopathic behavior that a then popular after-FORT site over the pros and cons of Jef with one F. That one led to separating open-to-all comments from safe-space-fan-only threads, which also lessened the enormous popularity of that particular site. And how can anyone forget the infamous Jesse that heartbroken Deanna picked as her F1 after Graham left the show? And before that, what Brad did to Deanna.
I am stopping here because I sit dumbfounded for after googling to recall Graham's name, I read Deanna and Stephen Stagliano are divorcing. Maybe someone posted it here, but I didn't see that one coming! Wow.

I won't mention the site but I find it really disturbing. You don't need to, and I don't need to know. I suppose my point is trashing reality show participants is nothing special. What is noteworthy is how awful these Bachelor fans will eventually feel for having fallen for TPTB-for-ratings-amplified idiotic drama initiated by, at minimum, a woman harboring extremely low self-esteem for having taken a chance and putting herself out there --- just as he did --- and the relationship didn't work out. We have a new spinoff with the same old Bachelor show bag of tricks.

So after watching the finale and ATFR, I can now see how Theresa is the best one for him. It sucks how he led Leslie on, and Faith too. Theresa (or Treesa, as Gerry says ) looked great at his family meeting, as she appeared to have softened her makeup. The red lipstick at their last meeting was horrible. Neutral tones look good on her. I thought the rushed wedding was ridiculous at first but, neither are getting any younger, both have been widowed for a few years and are probably so used to being married that it may be the right thing for them. I also read they are moving to South Carolina, which is good that they are starting off in a neutral place and that they had decided this during fantasy suite night. Leslie looked better than ever at ATFR and I hope she is doing better now that some time has passed. Very glad he let her go at their last meeting and not on that podium, even though it was hard to watch, it was definitely the better way to do it. I'll be watching their wedding and also looking forward to Joey's season.

Gerry and Teresa...not invested in these two. I am shocked that they are rushing into marriage so quickly. I know they are older and nobody knows how long they have, but still. If I was her, after seeing all that he spouted to the last three women during the show and this stuff that has come out after, I would be pumping the brakes and take a little breather to really think things through and get to know him better.
Despite the above...I have to say that overall I enjoyed this version of the show...certainly more than BIP which followed it and many of the previous regular Bachelors.
Gerry wasn't my cup of tea...much too saccharine, "oh, shucks" for me...but I certainly appreciated the life experience he and the ladies brought to the show. The ILY right and left was bad. Very bad. He kind of lost me at that point. I had expected more from him...because of his life experience. These people never learn to keep their mouth shut and their pants zipped.
For me, the best part and the stars of the show were the women. It was refreshing hearing about women with real life experience and who knew how to live life. I loved how supportive they were of one another. Even when they disagreed...Kathy vs. Teresa...it was dignified and didn't descend into cringe like such things usually do on this show. Their sense of humour was the best. They had way more fun with each other than they ever did with Gerry. I don't ever recall myself laughing so much while watching this show. I'd rather see a reunion with them than the televised wedding.
Now bring on Joey!

I agree that they are foolish to get married so quickly. It sounds like they didn’t even do “happy couple” visits. They’re old enough to know that you need to spend some extended time together in order to know if you’d really be compatible living together. At least take one long trip together to see if you can problem solve, make decisions, enjoy each other’s company for extended amounts of time, etc.

I've watched and listened to so many interviews and can't pinpoint precisely which ones; however, I recall Theresa and Gerry talking about visits subsequent to the FRC in the context of discovering and experiencing each other's habits and expectations. What Gerry and Theresa said they were not able to do was visit Charleston together to look at homes.

That’s good to hear, amber. After I posted about the importance of spending time together, I remembered that my mother had a very successful second marriage after a mostly “by phone” long-distance courtship where they only had a few short in person visits which due to religious and generational standards didn’t involve spending long periods of time alone. So I know it can work.
