Deal or No Deal Island, hosted by Joe Manganiello, premieres on February 26 at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT on NBC before moving to its regular timeslot at 10 p.m. ET/PT on March 4. There was a half-hour preview on tonight (Jan 13th) on NBC, showing us the first challenge, which let us see who's all playing. Boston Rob is one of the contestants. There is also a professional poker player, one woman who was a briefcase model on the old version of the show and now is in "entertainment." There's a young guy who's in accounting who rode in the jeep with Rob, saying he's not very physical (obviously, since he's so pale, he says). Rob says he's physical but not that great at accounting, so maybe they pair up? I like Rob and will watch him in anything. At the end, they previewed the season, and it looks like they will reveal the identity of the Banker at the end. It sounded like there was a huge reaction from contestants! Wonder who it could be that would cause that kind of reaction? From USA Network:In Deal or No Deal Island, the iconic briefcases are hidden around the island and worth over $200 million in prize money split between them. In each episode, players compete in daring challenges to secure the briefcases that will be used in that night’s game of Deal or No Deal. The player who snags the highest-value case gains immunity and gets to choose a fellow player to enter “The Temple.” The chosen competitor must then play a high-stakes game of Deal or No Deal. If the player makes a “bad deal” and accepts an offer that is a lesser value than what is in their chosen case, they are immediately eliminated. If the player makes a “good deal” and accepts an offer that is a higher value than what is in their case, the power is in their hands and they get to select who to eliminate. The winnings from each game of Deal or No Deal will be added to a group pot that will grow to an exponential value throughout the season. At the end of the season, the last player standing will face the Banker to potentially win the biggest prize in Deal or No Deal history. However, the devious Banker is always watching and raising the stakes with tests of strategy and greed. Manganiello will serve as the gaming liaison — an intermediary between the Banker and contestants — overseeing gameplay and helping to navigate them through tough, life-changing decisions.

Watching the second episode now. I understand why Boston Rob would be a big target, but there's something about how vicious that Kim lady is that bugs me. And then karma kind of got her during the challenge: she had the most arrows (gathered by her partner) to try and shoot down a high value case, but missed horribly and even flubbed one and wasted it. Rob's partner barely made it back with three arrows, and he managed to hit the highest value case! So, Rob gets immunity, along with his partner. I've never minded Rob, and I do like watching him, but I'm not sure what I'd do if I were in a game with him. He's good natured so I can see hanging out with him. But being so well-known is going to work against him here. Kim crying over losing the challenge was just ridiculous. I think she was playing the other people, trying to garner some sympathy by "crying." Claudia was on to her, too, saying she saw NO tears! Kim's whining about being a target, that Rob's after her -- when Rob was the one who helped her in the initial challenge, when she couldn't pull herself through the mud! He was nice to her, so she didn't fail, and then she goes around saying what a great gamer she is because she KNOWS reality games so well. She made herself a target. I'm sure Rob wouldn't have cared one bit about her if she hadn't acted like that! They (Aron and Rob) put her up to play the game against the Banker. I really really hope she doesn't beat him, just because of her bad attitude. She plans on taking out one of Rob's friends, to try to weaken Rob, if she wins. She presses the button and makes a deal. Her case only had $100 so she gets to stay, and now gets to kick somebody out. She says Jamil is covertly sneaky, so he's out. Poor guy - did nothing to her! Claudia vows to get her, she says to Jamil on his way out! I hope so! Though Kim says Claudia is obviously sneaky, so she sees what Claudia's doing. I'm enjoying this show! It went so fast, the episode was over before I knew it, and now I wish there were more. But, guess I'll have to wait for next week.

Can’t stand Kim…watching now. Hope Claudia doesn’t leave. Laughed when the tree fell.

Kim is horrible. She snidely says Claudia isn't as good at this game as she *thinks* she is, just because some of the cases had high amounts in them. Yeah, she should really be able to have x-ray vision and know what is in each case.... Kim think she could guess better? Whatever. The player with the Steal kind of annoyed me. I can't believe Claudia did what she did, giving up her case. The previews don't look great - wow, such drama!

Watched the episode tonight. No wonder Boston Rob gets invited on so many shows. He is entertaining TV and reads people well. Watching him get under the skin of the latest person targeting him, planting a seed and then just sitting there like butter wouldn't melt in his mouth...gold. He also uses his poker skills well. When they had the teams face off to see if one person could read the other and if that person would keep a tell off their face...really good. He was spot on for the first 3 and then the red head was good. Then when Rob went against his right hand Aaron...he taught the boy too well. You can tell he likes the kid and seems to have a soft spot for him because I think he let that fondness influence him. He should have gone with his first instinct. Always go with your first gut instinct because if not, you start to second guess yourself which is what Rob did and it cost him having to go up against the banker. Still, he came out a winner and lives to play another day. I want to know what the banker is up to for next week. Why did he want everyone to say who was the most trustworthy person? They all easily agreed on Aaron. They all had to go back and he got to stay. I am enjoying this show. It goes by quickly, but a lot of that is due to Boston Rob. I hope he lasts deep into the game. He says he needs the money because he has four girls and most of it would go to Lululemon.

I agree, Midol and just finished watching the latest episode, coming to the exact same conclusion! I had a feeling Rob wouldn't be going home this episode, but thought that if he did, they'd be losing out on a lot of entertainment. As you said, he's reality TV gold! I loved watching him during that bluffing challenge. It's interesting how people don't think they're giving something away, but definitely are! His time in the game was unreal! Opening all those high value cases during the very first round blew my mind: he HAD to take the deal, there was barely anything left! And I'm so glad he booted Kim out of the game. The way she spoke made her so unlikeable to me, and even on the way out she took a jab at Rob being so scared of an elderly woman. He likely wasn't scared, he was probably more annoyed than anything. I know I was. The other woman flying off the handle on this episode (can't remember her name) is causing drama for no reason. She and Kim both put targets on their own backs for how they act, not because of anything anyone else (Rob) is doing. They are/were determined to target Rob, so by making all this noise and causing stress in the group, they're becoming targets. It is a lot easier to get rid of them after this, than if they'd play a quieter, under the radar game, so that when it comes to elimination, the person doesn't have much to go on to make his decision. But, I bet everyone else in the group is very happy that these two have been acting up, so no one looks their way during elimination! I know I would. I really wonder what Aron's role is, after they sent everyone else out. He's "most trusted" so they're going to do something to challenge that, I'm sure! In the preview, there's a voiceover of Rob saying "WHAT's he doing??" -- though of course that could be from any time, but if it's this challenge, he might be favoring his pretty friend over Rob or something like that. I can't wait to see. This show has definitely surprised and delighted me! I'm excited for each new episode, it goes so quickly when watching, and I'm very entertained the whole time.

So Aaron has the ledger of the banker and can see the $ amounts in each case. He is locked into the seat and everyone else must find different cases in the jungle. They come to him and he tells them if it is a higher or lower case. In some cases he tells the exact amounts. It is up to the person whether or not they believe him. He has to talk 2 people into getting cases #1 & #2 which have keys which will unlock him. If he doesn't, then he goes. If he does, he picks one of those two to go against the banker.
Since Aaron is the most trustworthy most believe him, but that blonde from last week (Amy) doesn't. He told her $500,000 which is the lowest case, but she didn't believe him. Either way, Miranda and Aaron's best ally Alyssa (red head) have the keys so he will pick one of them. Miranda is p*ssed, Alyssa is not happy either, but she hopes there is a plan. Meanwhile, Boston Rob realized that Alyssa is Aaron's #1, not him.
Aaron explains his reasoning to Alyssa and is thinking of putting up Miranda so she can kick out someone he wants. He then goes and talks to Miranda and is trying to get her to get out Stephanie. She agrees to his face, but has her own plans. I guess we will find out shortly.

So Miranda does really well in picking cases. Has $100 and the other 3 are all over one million, including the $3,000,000. She gets a personal offer. If she takes it she gets to take the $ home, no matter what. She would personally get $40,000. The team understands if she takes the $ and she adds over $900,000 to the team pot. She naturally takes the deal and the case she picked had $1,500,000 so a bad deal. She is out, but gets $40,000 personally.
Miranda admits she would have sent Alyssa home, but the plan was to send Stephanie home. Shock all over the place. Aaron and Alyssa are exposed, but Boston Rob says as hard as it is having them turn on his alliance...at least it isn't him! Love him.
Off to the Bachelor final!!!

Just watched tonight. Aron did a good job choosing Miranda even though it almost backfired on him, because she had to show her true colors and had been playing more under the radar until now. It was another good episode! From the previews though, the final pot looks like it gets to over $13 million! Right now we're at, what - not even 2? They must have some lucrative episodes coming up. I hope Rob stays 'til the end, even if he doesn't win. He's just fun to watch! Tonight, though, he was making the rounds and it looked a little too much, trying to manipulate people. If he goes overboard, he'll make himself a bigger target, and he sure doesn't need that! So will he turn on Aron first, or will Aron (and Alyssa) turn against Rob?? Stephanie might take a shot too! Or Amy. Rob's got a lot of work to do, I guess!!

Wow! Things are heating up on that island, and somebody totally lost her cool. Poor Aron couldn't handle it and left in tears, it bothered him so very much! He sounded like he might even quit the game.
Stephanie was the one who came off looking the worst here, even though who knows - she might have had some legitimate beef with Alyssa -- but it didn't matter once she blew up and embarrassed herself. I was really wishing she'd have made a bad deal and been sent home, just because of her attitude.
Rob even tried to help her, explaining that keeping your emotions out of it will be better in the long run, but she wasn't hearing any of it. He got a sunburn apparently, being out there in the shallow water trying to assist the unassistable. His torso later looked extremely red!!
So who will Stephanie and Amy turn on next, especially if they can't get Rob (who they really want)?? He's SO good at this kind of show, I really hope he keeps winning immunity somehow and sticks around. But if Aron leaves or is eliminated, he has no allies left. Rob was right, that they should be looking at the people who are coasting through, not making waves, and actually at this point I'd be okay if one of those won over players like Amy and Stephanie who are just so personal and nasty. The heat and humidity of the island must be getting to them, because Steph completely lost it. I don't want her to win, no matter what, even if her "charity" idea is a good one.
I was so frustrated to not see any previews of the next episode!! Peacock didn't have any! But, luckily, I caught one on tonight's broadcast and it looked like Aron was playing the next game, so that's good he didn't quit.

So they made it look like this week's episode was going to be Rob's last. There were hints on social media, too. I was scared to watch it, had to wait until today, and was scared to see a spoiler!
But luckily (for him, and for me), Rob did not get eliminated. Aron made a bad deal, and was out. I really wonder what he would've done though, if it would've been a good deal - the two women were really working Aron, and got him to believe Rob had thrown his name out there. He seemed to be considering kicking out Rob if he'd made a good deal.
Gosh, I can't take Steph. Her expressions, her viciousness, it's all just too much. Amy is almost just as bad. I seriously would not watch the ending of this show, if either of those two are going to be the winner. I'd have been okay with Aron beating Rob, or even if Jordan makes it to the end, that would be great. But those two owl witches have GOT to go. Rewarding their awful, awful behavior and meanness with tons of money would be such a disgrace.
I wonder who the Banker is!! Anyone know how many episodes are left?
