RDR Live! - Live from Tuckahoe, it's RDR Live! The queens are challenged to serve up laughs in a hilarious send-up of the iconic sketch comedy show. Actress and three-time SNL host Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy the Vampire Slayer).

I love watching Ru perform, and enjoyed the start of the show with such a great performance. But..... Talk about setting the bar high! RDR Live is one of my favorite challenges but, only a few performances stood out for me. Surprisingly, I thought Amanda was good in her reporter roll (funny, and I thought she nailed it). Q made a good brick, funny, but not as outstanding of a performance as the judges seemed to think it was. I do give her points on costume design, creativity and imagination. For me, the only truly great performance was Plasma, who nailed Barbra; funny, charming, she owned it, and stole the skit! Also, her Cher gown was stunning. Big Congrats to Plasma for her beautiful, deserving win! Mirage. (sigh) She suspected that she would be doing lip sync, so why not do what Geneva did just before going back out on stage, review the words of the song? I've often wondered if Queens are given a 'heads up' before the season begins on what celebrity materials to bring, and which artists would be featured. If so, Mirage failed due diligence. It was still heartbreaking to see her rejection. At least, the edit gave us a composed Queen when she returned to the Werk room to read her treasured letters, gather her things, and leave. My heart was shouting "You made me Proud, sweetie". It was also difficult to watch her sisters grieving too. Each of them understood that heartbreak, when your hopes and dreams are crushed. Do I think her sisters should have reviewed the words with her before she went out instead of telling her she's "got it"? Well, it would have helped, but it was Mirage's responsibility to get the help that she needed, even if it was last minute.
One last thing, Geneva complaining every week on how she does not deserve to be in final two "again", has me shouting "Girl, wake up and own your performance, listen to the critiques, and please, stop blaming everyone else."

The queens are told before they come what all the 'theme' costume challenges are that they won't have to make in the werkroom, so that they all have equal time to make or get a sickening Cher or Madonna or whichever outfit. They are also given a list of all the lip sync songs that will be used (an the iPod with the songs loaded that they each carry around), and they are told at the beginning of each challenge which song it will be that week. There have been a few times where the song was changed last minute, either due to a rights issue, or other reasons that can turn into conspiracy theories... For instance, in season 5, for the final 4 Sugar Ball, Detox and Jinkx were in the bottom 2. Another song was supposed to be used, but at the last minute they switched it to that quirky Yma Sumac song, which coincidentally was way more tailored to Jinkx's talents. (If there were shenanigans involved, I ain't mad at it, because I was rooting for Jinkx all season)

I agree with you about Mirage -- she didn't do the work. To me she always seemed too laid back for someone competing on Drag Race, so I figured she would probably be an early boot. But Geneva got LUCKY, because if Mirage HAD known the words, I bet Geneva would have gone home instead. (And you're right, anyone who startes talking about 'deserving' this or that has to go lol.)
I was so happy for Plasma's win! Yeah she got a little too intense over the whole casting thing, but to me she had a point, because the girls actually WERE being shadier than they were letting on. Yes, Barbra was the perfect role for Plasma, but that wasn't the primary reason they basically crowded her into taking it.
Sarah Michelle Gellar was an INCREDIBLE guest judge! I hope they have her back. And she lent so much knowledge to the challenge having hosted SNL a bunch of times. I just love her...

I so agree about well, everything that was said, but about Michelle Gellar!!! She was outstanding, sometimes guests are sort of stiff and try too hard to be in the mix. She was perfect. Perfect!!!
Mirage annoyed me that she first said she wanted the host role, then she got it, didn't want it! Having said that, it was hard to watch her break down like that.
Also, these young 'uns HAVE to do better about being informed about what is going on in this world. Not knowing who Lindsey Gramham is? Unexceptable.

Me too! I love SMG, she is very astute, showed clear vision, and offered constructive critiques. She was also unafraid to disagree with Ru or other judges, so I'll add fearless to that as well. One of the best guest judges I've seen on the show. I too hope she returns again and again.
