Yikes, they have to cook with hops for the Quickfire. They're taking Brew City and the theme very seriously here. I have never had anything made with hops, and I've eaten out in Milwaukee a lot in my life! Maybe I've been missing out! lol I like the idea of using the hops in a dessert. There was a lot of infusing. Some of those dishes (most actually) didn't look or sound very delicious. But they tried! The rice pudding with hops won. For elimination, they have a team challenge: 7 course meal using bar snacks but elevating them to fine dining. The meal will be served down in the tunnels/cave of the Miller Brewing company. Pretzels, nuts, olives, popcorn, etc. Corn nuts?? Those are horrible. LOL, $500 at Whole Foods won't go very far! Like the guest said, champagne taste on a beer budget -- that's perfect for this! I like seeing how they're all getting along, and hearing some of their stories. Poor Dan with his Kennedy's Disease, which makes him shaky when plating. Cool cooking area, outside at Miller. But the "Win! Sconsin!" chant didn't really do it for me. One team is thinking through the flavors for each course, very well, trying to balance them. One team's dessert is a pretzel and mustard thing, which doesn't sound very good for a dessert, more like an appetizer. One guy is applying the potato chips to his fish in a very meticulous manner, taking up lots of time. Will it pay off? One of the guests for dinner is Charlie Behrens - he's so funny. The flavor plan doesn't seem to working well for the red team. Guests aren't understanding it or appreciating it. Lots of harsh comments about a lot of the courses, actually. At judges table, they choose the yellow team as their favorite, and loved the mustard pretzel dessert! It wins and Rasika gets $10,000. Red team is going to lose somebody. The olive apps, the chip crusted fish, or the corn nut soup? Aww, Valentine with his corn soup is sent to pack up, then he'll be going to Last Chance Kitchen for another chance. He seems like a very nice man. Previews indicate they'll be going to Door County, maybe using cranberries or cherries. And someone actually says "Too much cheese" which is just impossible!
