Tonight: The competition narrows during the final showcase round for judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie, deciding who will earn a coveted spot in the Top 24 and compete for America’s vote.
Enjoy the show!

I hate it when they lead the contestant to believe they've been cut, take a long pause, then say "It's up to America after this." I didn't even enjoy Odell's performance that much, but I knew they weren't going to let one of their Platinum ticketholders go already, and it seemed like they loved his song, so it just seemed mean and unnecessary to do that to him.

All in all, I liked who they sent through to the final 24. There are some very talented singers!
And even though the sad stories shouldn't play a part in a singing contest, I was completely pulled into them, cried for some of the people, and rooted for them more because of their stories! I couldn't help it.
So next week, it's 2 nights again, and they're headed to Hawaii. Lilo (or Stitch? idk) came to greet the finalists and tell them the travel news. Since we've seen the previews already, it seems like these performances have already happened -- so how do they let America vote? Will just the 2nd night be live?

I feel like I have American Idol Stockholm Syndrome… some of my favorites this year are country singers!

I wish they'd stop with all the fakeouts, it's very unnecessary. "The dream is over for you. (long pause) Now it's reality!" UGH. Stop jerking people around. I'm generally happy with the ones who made it through, and am glad Raghu or whatever her name is didn't make it. She's had plenty of chances.

That being said, I like the way they are doing it this year. I disliked the group round. You were at the mercy of your teammates. If one of them screwed up, you had a bigger chance of going home. It just didn't seem fair.
