I'm not terribly fond of the format of the show this time around. Featuring them staying in the same house together like they're trying to be Big Brother or something. And did I miss something or is there an extra person missing? If they started with a top 10, shouldn't there be 6 dancers left? It seems like they went from 10 down to 8 the next week.

The first two weeks, they eliminated two contestants each week. Last week, it was just Jaylin.

(But I've slept since then, so there's that. ) I wasn't happy they sent him home, either. He was eye candy. The second week, I swear I thought it looked like they reran one of the audition episodes so I didn't watch. I thought Jaelyn (or however it's spelled) really got screwed over by the choreography. Max even said something about how he was kind of not really in the forefront of the routine; well, he could only dance where the choreographer put him!

It was Olivia and Avery week one and then Braylin and Roman week two. Jaylin went last week.
I don't mind the stuff with them living together. I'm annoyed at how few performance/elimination episodes there are. I looked it up and on the season Jeanine won, there were NINE episodes with voting/performances, including the finale. This season, there will be five! It's just not enough time to get to know these contestants and see what they can do, IMO.
If they're only giving us a top 10 vs. a top 20, they should only have one elimination per week.

Oh well, my short term memory is shot to the devil, LOLOL!! Right there with you on everything you said! I don't care how they get along in the house; I want to see dancing! And there definitely should only be 1 person going home per week! I don't know, this season is just doing absolutely nothing for me. Even Cat seems "off" to me.

I agree that this new format has made it hard to get to know the contestants. I was sad that Madison got injured. She definitely drew my attention in the opening number, but she did kind of disappear in the later performances. I was impressed that she was able to do anything at all with her injury, but still, she wasn’t able to dance all out. I was glad that they put her through.
