A new celebrity cooking show premieres on The Roku Channel on Friday, May 31st.
Manolo Gonzalez Vergara (Sofia's son) is host, with judges Kalen Allen and Fariyal Abdullahi.
Contestants for season 1 include (with their family members) Sofía Vergara, Howie Mandel, Jeannie Mai Jenkins, Gary Janetti & Brad Goreski, Ashlee Simpson, Chrishell Stause, Mike 'The Miz' Mizanin, Charli D'Amelio, Dixie D'Amelio, Matt Iseman, and Bianca Belair.

Sofia is a contestant and also a producer of the show, and she said on Kimmel she wished her son could've helped her during the show (he cooks, she doesn't). When Jimmy asked about her being a contestant, it sounds like the prize goes to charity, so in the unlikely event she wins, it probably wouldn't break any rules. The interview was pretty funny with Jimmy and Sofia and her son. He said he learned to cook early (out of necessity, apparently!), packed his own school lunches, etc. Jimmy suggested maybe she was just too good looking to know how to cook! She said you can't have everything, after all. She was 19 when she had him.
I think it's free, and there's a way to watch the Roku channel w/o actually having Roku, because I did it for another show before (but I can't recall right now how). Might be entertaining to watch this one!

You just need to set up an account at Roku.com, and you can watch shows/movies online at TheRokuChannel.com, or by downloading the Roku app on your phone/device (iOS or Android). |
