tvline.com/2018/05/21/cancelled-lucifer-bonus-episodes-airdate-god-neil-gaiman-ella-ghost-friend/Here’s a tiny bit of heavenly news for the Lucifer fans who have been through hell since the show’s unceremonious cancellation earlier this month. Fox has announced an airdate for the two “bonus” episodes that were filmed earlier this spring to air as part of Season 4, now that Season 4 is not meant to be. The two standalone episodes instead will air back-to-back next Monday, May 28, at 8/7c — two weeks after the series finale. The news comes in the midst of the second week of the #SaveLucifer/#PickUpLucifer social media campaign, which aims (but has yet) to find the show a new home. In the first of the episodes, titled “Boo Normal,” Lucifer and the team investigate the murder of a child psychiatrist, while Ella thinks about a big childhood secret that she’s been hiding. House alum guest-stars House alum Charlyne Yi as a very special friend of Ella’s who just might be a ghost. Then in “Once Upon a Time,” which was directed by cast member Kevin Alejandro, Lucifer’s mom creates an alternate dimension in which Lucifer now lives in a world where he not only has never met Chloe, but is granted the freedom of choice. American Gods author Neil Gaiman voices God, who serves as the narrator of this fairy tale (TV Insider reported last week). “Honestly, they’re two of our best episodes, so… I think the fans will get to see them in some way, I just don’t know when,” Lucifer co-showrunner Joe Henderson told TVLIne in the immediate wake of the series’ cancellation. “They’ll get out there somehow, and I’m excited for everyone to see them.”

My DVR picked up the 2-hour show(s) as well. It sounds like a better ending for the show...I hope.
(Checking out my Monday list I realized that I hadn't set-up for The Bachelorette. sigh)

No wonder! I was so confused because those just did not fit in to what I thought was the season finale. I thought they'd maybe aired them out of order.
I still thought Boo Normal was too "plain" of an episode to occur with Chloe being all normal around Lucifer and Espinoza seemingly having no lingering grief over Charlotte. Especially with Lucifer's crass comment about all the girls at the amusement park. It just didn't flow at all with recent events.
It was a heckofa cliffhanger and a really lousy way for the series to end.

I have to be honest, I didn't enjoy the 2 standalone episodes.
It's sad that the show was cancelled, I hope all the fans and cast efforts in trying to bring the show back would pay off, I hope another network or either Netflix or Hulu would pick up the show and renew it for another season.

I agree, linda. I usually love Lucifer but I found those episodes disjointed and didn't like how they altered the characters. I missed the first episode and came in late on the second one so I was soooo confused about Chloe talking about wanting to be a detective and the crime scene lady being an auto mechanic. I did go back and watch both episodes back to back but they didn't add anything to the show and only made me glad the series didn't start out that way.

The two extra episodes had been filmed and were to be included in "season 4". The cast had high hopes they would be renewed. That is why the episodes may seem disjointed in regards to the Season 3 Finale as they were to be included in whatever story lines were to be in season 4.
However, I loved the episodes, just more Lucifer to watch. Luv'ed Boo Normal. I luv it when secondary characters are the focus of the story in this case series breakout Ella. There really was a nice feel and rhythm to this episode and the reveal at the end was a surprise.
Second episode had a very different feel and the narrator's voice threw me as I kept expecting it to be Tom Ellis/Lucifer. Maze was fantastic, her old self. Luv'ed that Charlotte and Daniel got together in the end. Dr. Linda and her girls had me rolling.

I really liked Boo with the introduction of another Angel family member; but I really didn't like the second hour where God took over and talked about butterfly wings. It was too far out there and rather destroyed the relationships we grew to know over the seasons,

I hope there's an alternative place to watch it if I'm not able to get Netflix. At least with network shows, sometimes you can watch episodes at the network website. I'm sure you wouldn't be able to do that with Netflix since they want you to pay for the service.
In any case, I'm glad the show was saved. If I don't find a way to watch the next season, I might have to buy it on dvd.

I'd guess that's coming soon.
Shooting on the new season starts in August, so maybe we'll see new episodes in less than a year!

Now that Chloe finally knows the truth about Lucifer, I can't wait to find out what's in store for this couple next, would Chloe still accept Lucifer for who he really is and finally commit to a romantic relationship with him? Or would she reject him now that she knows he's the devil? Fans have been waiting for this couple to hook up for so long, I would hate to see the writers go back to the "will they or won't they?" phase, these 2 have been beating around the bush for too long, and even though Netflix has renewed the show for a 4th season, it still doesn't guarantee a 5th season, so it's still possible that this could be the last season. So I hope the writers would officially hook them up together in S4 and get it over and done with, in case there's no S5.

Personally I don't care if Chloe and Luci ever hook up as I feel they have absolutely no chemistry, I just enjoy the rest of the show.

I think they have good chemistry together and have wanted them together since season 1, but they have been going around in circles and beating around the bush with their relationship for 3 seasons and it's getting annoying, I just want the writers to officially hook them up next season and be done with it.

Guess I'm gonna need a Netflix subscription I got mine! I was afraid I might have to upgrade my cable package to be able to get Netflix but I was able to add it to what I already had. I just had to swap out my cable box, which was free of charge, and add Netflix for $10.99 a month. I chose the option where I could watch Netflix on more than one device so I can watch it on my laptop computer besides on my tv.
I'm already enjoying watching the programming on Netflix. I watched Nailed It and now I'm binge watching Young & Hungry.
I can't wait until Lucifer starts again!!! I will definitely be having a pizza party that night.

and they are posting photos of the cast on the first table read for season 4. For Grimm fans - Sasha Roiz will play a US Marshall in the first episode titled "Everything's Okay".
They don't list a start date, but they are filming the first episode...YAY!!!

That makes me SO happy! Pic of the cast back together for the table read for episode one:
pikachu - Unless they've changed things, I'm pretty sure the Netflix multiple screens plan is meant for families where multiple people are watching on different devices at the same time. If it's just you using the account, you probably don't need that. You can watch on whatever device you want: just not more than one at the same time

If it's just you using the account, you probably don't need that. You can watch on whatever device you want: just not more than one at the same time I realized that after the first billing and changed my account to one device. It's unlikely that I'll have friends or family over watching Netflix in a different room than me. If my situation does change, I can always go back and change it again.

It's not just for the same household - I share my account with my parents. It's cheaper for me to just expand my plan than for them to have a separate account, which would have to be a multiple devices account anyway

Discovered Lucifer Seasons 1-3 were on Netflix already. Almost done with season three, now I can't wait for season 4. Hope it drops this spring, keeping my fingers crossed.

I just started watching this on Netflix. I am almost done with season one. Without any spoilers, is every episode going to be a crime of the week? Does the show get better or if I don't love it now I probably won't?

Speaking for myself, I loved Lucifer more in the early episodes so if you don't love it now, I don't know that you will. Sometimes I do find the situations ridiculous and Lucifer too selfish and shallow but overall his charm wins me over.
Maybe you will like it better later because they get more of a story arch going so it's not just one crime per episode. That's kind of what made me start liking it less, though, because it felt like the tempo of the series slowed way down. It took a long time to see where the story was going and to get to a resolution.
