Speaking for myself, I loved Lucifer more in the early episodes so if you don't love it now, I don't know that you will. Sometimes I do find the situations ridiculous and Lucifer too selfish and shallow but overall his charm wins me over. Maybe you will like it better later because they get more of a story arch going so it's not just one crime per episode. That's kind of what made me start liking it less, though, because it felt like the tempo of the series slowed way down. It took a long time to see where the story was going and to get to a resolution. Thank you!!

I saw that announcement blowing up on Twitter. I'll be on vacation that week (of course), but I'll be tearing through that new season when I get home...I can't wait to see where they go with it on Netflix. Also: gawd, Tom getting out of that pool in the promo!

Is anyone else watching season 4? I'm just finishing episode 3 and it is SO good!
No spoilers, but I will say that's clear we're on Netflix and not network TV within about the first 6 minutes of episode 1!

I wasn't sure how this was going to work on Netflix. I thought they would make one episode available per week but I thought to check on it about 6:30 tonight and saw that it looks like the whole season is available! I only had time to watch one episode before Survivor started and now I have to decide if I'm going to watch the whole thing at once or pace myself and stretch out my enjoyment by watching only one episode at a time. Decisions, decisions!
I really loved the first episode I saw so I think it's a good thing that the show got moved to Netflix. It opened up more possibilities for plot development.

We started watching (bingeing!!) Lucifer less than a month ago and we're nearing the end of season 2. I agree with some posts here that stated they liked the show better in the earlier episodes or first season. Just my opinion as we're closing out season 2, but Lucifer's mother has slowly taken over the show, nearly to the point of being the "star" and I really do not like her character. A few of our friends who have watched the show as well have similar sentiments.

I think you hit the nail on the head, fang. I couldn't figure out specifically what made me like the show less later on but I don't like his mother's character and the show was centered around her for too long. I prefer when it's centered on Lucifer and Amenadiel. They're such different characters but together they balance each other out.

Just started watching Season 4 on Netflix. The show has a very different feel and pacing then when it was on Network TV. Chole is way off. It gets better by episode 3.

I finished the season late yesterday afternoon and loved it all. SO much better than the third season. I wish they'd done more episodes, but the shorter season is probably one of the reasons it was so good. The more I watch British TV, the more I think long 20+ episode seasons are the enemy of quality storytelling.
I liked Inbar Lavi on Imposters, but I felt like there was too much Eve in this season. I like the character, but it was a bit much. If there's a season 5 (please, let there be a season 5!), I hope they phase her out or at least make her a more minor character. With fewer episodes, I'd rather they focus on the core 7 cast members.
I've been reading article claiming it was a big cliffhanger, but I didn't think so. IMO, if it doesn't get renewed, they've provided an ending point (popular with fans or not), but there's definitely room to continue the story.

Finished the new season last night and I was not disappointed at all. There was no let down at all in the move from FOX to Netflix and the added bonus was Tom Ellis' backside. I loved the plot arc of brining Eve to town, I agree that having a shorter season didn't drag out the plot and create filler episodes. Each of the ten episodes moved the plot along. I also kept reading about a cliffhanger and totally expected it to be something else. (Can't find the way to add spoiler so I won't say what I thought.) I don't think the actual ending was a cliffhanger, it actually wrapped up the season nicely in the case that it's the last. But I hope not, I am looking forward to another season.

I ended up watching the whole new season over the weekend. I never have been good at self-discipline. It was awesome but now it's going to be a long wait until the next season. Thankfully Netflix has plenty of other shows to watch until then.
I liked this season more than the previous ones because I felt Lucifer was more mature and less ridiculous. I also felt like all of the cast was used to their full extent so Dan, Maze, Linda and other key players were more central to the plot and not just extras to Lucifer's story. At one time, I felt like the show could do without Maze and the forensics chick but now I'm glad they're there because they have something to contribute!
After watching this season, I went back and watched season one again. Trixie was so little and cute then!

I also binged this over the weekend. Besides the freedom to be sexually naughtier, Netflix allowed them to explore more of the metaphysical down to Satan on his throne. Very interesting.

Inbar is fabulous in Imposters but the Eve character lacks so much depth it is almost painful to watch her on screen. This actress could have done so much with the character, I wonder if they held her back. Too bad it was a waste of her talent. I also do not need to see Eve next season.

Just saw that there will be a season 5, and it will be the last. *sob* I wanted a few more seasons, but I'm happy Netflix gave us these two, along with a proper ending.

I am glad that there will be closure for fans about the series. I don't mind a shorter series as long as the story is told and the fans are not left hanging. However I do feel that there is enough story potential that there could have been 6 or 7 seasons. My feeling is if you were only going to do 2 more seasons on Netflix why did you bother saving the show?

I just saw the news on Twitter about Lucifer's 5th season being it's last. I agree with others. Why bother saving the show on Netflix only to cancel it two seasons later? And the "seasons" on Netflix have much fewer episodes than there would be on cable so they're really short in comparison.
Oh, well. I'm glad I got Netflix so I could watch Lucifer because it's opened up a whole world of new shows for me. I hope to see Tom Ellis in future projects.

Season 5 part 1
Netflix dropped season 5 of Lucifer August 21 2020, I was surprised and disappointed that is was only 8 episodes. A normal network show is about 40 minutes long minus the commercials and these episodes were running between 55 and 57 minutes so more content. The pacing seemed off as the original series was very lighthearted poke fun at Hollywood pretensions, religious pretensions, and everyday life in general. A bit of a mock up between a police procedural and a nod the supernatural. I really didn't like the Eve story arc in season 4 as the character of Eve did not add to the overall story so was glad she is gone for season 5. When a series is off the air and folks have gone to do other things sometimes the magic, the chemistry of the cast is not there when they reunite. I think partly this is so because they writers are changing the intent of the show to showcase more of the emotional aspect of Lucifer and Chloe and they are extending that to the other characters. By episode 3 it felt more as if I had watched 6 episodes instead of 3. By this time I had gotten used to the change of the show and I think the cast was getting more into the rhythm of the show. I did like how they are showing much more of Dan and his character and how he is friends with Amenadiel. I was kinda shocked and surprised how the series ended at episode 8 as the season was supposed to wrap up all the story lines. I checked online and found out that season 5 is supposed to be 16 episodes long. Production of the series was halted due to COVID 19 and will resume. Also the good news is that there will be a season 6. WOW!
Overall enjoyed it.
