Season 4 is off to an incredible start! I watched the episode in the Starz app today. This story set against the backdrop of American history is going to be so interesting.

I was blown away by the use of the song at the end. Talk about bringing Jamie's "what is the dream for some is the nightmare for others" to life coupled with what we have today was not easily built because our ancestors went through a lot to build it. Also, EFF YOU, STEPHEN BONNET.

I enjoyed most of the episode, right up until the end when scummy William Bonnet reappeared (can Claire and Jamie not be happy for one whole episode!?) and they played freaking Ray Charles. WHY!? That's a great song, don't get me wrong, but it did not work in this context. Totally pulled me out of the story I'm not sure what song would have worked, but something more true to the period would have been much better, IMO.
William Bonnet will need to die a horrible and satisfying death a la Ramsay Bolton

Tonight’s episode was amazing.
According to Diana Gabaldon, Fraser’s Ridge would have been between Boone and Blowing Rock. I went to school at Appalachian State in Boone. Truly it is that beautiful. And I even went to the Highland Games a few times as a child. I chuckled when Roger said the county was dry. You still couldn’t get liquor by the drink in 1989-92 when I was in school.
I haven’t read the books, but am loving the show. Can’t wait to see where we go from here.

For me, every episode of Outlander is magical. In addition to the storylines which I enjoy so much, and the characters whom I am obsessed with, 'visually' the show is perfection!!! I could almost watch the shows with the sound turned off and still enjoy just seeing the gorgeous scenery, and the amazingly beautiful sets (with their immaculate attention to detail).

Loved the episode this week, Savages. Jamie was holding back tears at the sight of Murtagh, I nearly cried too! Didn’t realize I missed that character🙂

And Jamie was able to hold back the tears, but I wasn't. But at least I was smiling through my tears -- from ear to ear!!!

I LOVED this episode! I cheered when I saw the White Sow, sobbed when Murtagh and Jamie reunited, teared up when he whistled to Claire and sobbed when he did his happy dance. I am so glad he's back and that he lived. He's so different than book Murtagh and I adore him. Even the non-Murtagh parts were great

What a gut-wrenching episode. Lord John Grey and Jamie Fraser are so tortured. John still loves Jamie, and clearly loves his son William so much. Jamie misses his son, loves him so much, and can never acknowledge him. The conversation between Claire & John was so sad. A lot was left unsaid in this episode.

His 'mother' just died, and he clearly loves his 'dad' -- but he was so obviously crushed years ago, by having his beloved 'Mac' ripped out of his life when he was only 5 -- with no satisfactory explanation. Now, he seemed to be in so much pain when he asked Mac/Jamie why he left without even looking back at him, while he was riding away. And now, having found Jamie again, Willie only got to connect with him so briefly before having to leave. Hopefully when he looked back at Jamie as he was riding off, it was a sign that he was thinking it might be possible to see Jamie again.

I did not even miss Jamie & Claire in this episode. Brianna’s journey was so painful, but she prepared as best that she knew how. I feel a tiny bit sorry for Laoghaire because she did love Jamie, but he never loved her the same. However, it’s been decades, and time to let the bitterness go. It was nice to see Frank again, and learn more about the bond between he & Brianna. I’m liking Roger in the past. He stood up to Bonnet!

UGH. Roger is literally THE WORST, you guys. He doesn’t deserve Brianna and he definitely didn’t deserve the sacrifice Ian made for him. I want to reach through the TV and smack him upside the head.

Ditto! --- You took the words right outta my mouth, Critical!!! But even Roger couldn't spoil this series for me. I haven't loved a show this much in a long, long time!

They are really making Roger hard to like. I know he’s been through hell & back, and had probably accepted his fate with the Mohawk. I just keep reminding myself that he’s not a modern man, and that old fashioned viewpoint drives his decisions. He did have a lot to consider: being with Brianna, raising the baby, staying in the past. I’ll reserve judgment until next season.
I liked that Ian took responsibility for what happened to Roger, but he also seems overjoyed to part of the Mohawk!
I’ll have plenty of time to read the next book before the season five starts.

I still love it too, but when Roger was there cowering on Claire's shoulder as two of the other (better) men in Brianna's life offered themselves in trade, I couldn't help thinking that she deserved SO much better. Murtaugh and Jocasta having their own little rom-com within the episode = He was pretty damned sexy in that bed all shirtless with his hair flowing! Silver fox!
ITA that Ian looked happy with the Mohawk. I hope he stays that way AND that this isn't the last we've seen of Young Ian.
As an aside...my BFF is half Mohawk Indian - her mom grew up on a reservation in upstate NY - and she wore a traditional headdress for part of her wedding. It was beautiful.

It has been a while since I read the books, but if I recall correctly Ian was always fascinated with the Native American lifestyle. He really wanted to be one of them. That being said, Ian's story over all was the least enjoyable storyline(s) for me in the books. I could give or take Ian, that is a holdover for me in the show too. I don't dislike him, but I don't care if he he there or not there either. I liked Roger a heck of a lot more in the books i have to admit. I don't know if it is the way they wrote him for the show or the actor. It is rather the reverse about Bri, I like her a lot more on the show than the books (the actress playing her is absolutely beautiful!). I love Murtaugh and Jocasta together, Maria Doyle Kennedy does her justice. I was worried when I saw she was playing her as Aunt Jo is a good biter older than Mary is (or looks) but I give a lot of credit to Makeup on that one. I am interested to see where they take this relationship, truly uncharted waters But I am all for all more Murtaugh lol

I didn't much care for Ian in his early episodes, but he has definitely grown on me, and I really like him now. And thanks for the info that he was always fascinated with the Native American lifestyle, cause that makes me feel much better about him having to stay with the tribe (in exchange for Roger). And speaking of Roger, I'm really turned off by the tv Roger, both in looks and personality. I don't know if he'll grow on me, but I hope so, cause we're stuck with him. I like Bri a lot more, although she can really be a brat sometimes!!! But really and truly, for me, the show is all about Jamie and Claire. As long as they're in the episodes and loving each other, I don't much care what else is going on!

After season four I started diving into the audible books. I am in book 7 right now. The seasons correspond with the books.
This adventure is all interwoven. I hope that the show doesn't depart from the books much.
At first, I didn't think Davina Porter sounded like Claire (especially starting sex scenes) but after a few hours I think she sounds exactly like Claire. I have listened to more than 100 hours of Davina doing Outlander audible books.

I still love Outlander soooo much! It's one of my all time favorite shows!
Season 5 starts Feb 16th! It seems like a long way away, but the holidays fly by at this time of year, and it's so wonderful to have something to look forward to after New Years is over!

I jumped from Starz season 4 directly to Audible book 5 with no problem; and I have listened to all of the audible books (through 8). I think Gabaldon may get book 9 released by the same time as Starz season 5 in February.
Yes......what a wonderful journey. So romantic!!!

OUTLANDER returns on February 16th, and Sam's movie (Vin Diesel's movie) BLOODSHOT starts the same week, I believe.

Episode released early. Thanks Starz! Yes! Loved it! It was very sweet! {Spoiler} I love how the families and the love stories are developing! But there's also a lot of adventure on the horizon. And, of course, the Revolutionary War is coming. . .

OUTLANDER!! OMGOSH FoRT FANS, hubby and I just found this. It is now on NETFLIX. (We don't have STARZ) We are loving it. We are only at the episode in S1 when Claire and Jamie get married. WHAT AN AMAZING SERIES and we are only like 5 or 6 episodes in. The acting, the scenery, the storyline, fantastic. AND it appears that hubby and I have about 4 seasons to watch.
