Surprising good family film. Better than I thought it would be.
I read A Wrinkle in Time when I was young and luv'ed it as many children can identify with Meg. Young, angry, bullied at school, not popular, feels unattractive, no friends. Then Disney was going to make a movie about it and Oprah was involved, I am thinking disaster. They are going to change the characters and plot and take out the scary parts. Yes, they changed it. They diversified the cast. They made Charles Wallace an adopted child. I was kinda upset when they mess with a book like that. But I have to say over all I did enjoy the film. I don't remember the Mrs very much I remember Meg, and Calvin, and Charles Wallace looking for Dr. Maury. I remember Meg looking for Charles Wallace and fighting for him. That is what I liked about the book. The changes don't bother me so much now, I see that they really tried to modernize the story, sometimes the themes were a bit much and take away from Meg finding and fighting to get Charles Wallace back. Overall it was fun.
