Season 1 Episode 16 - "Memento Mori" - March 24, 2019 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charmed_(2018_TV_series)per TVGuide: I was surprised that Charity could not get rid of the Elder Prita's body better and just stuff in a crate in the girls attic. PS: per the Charmed wiki site:

Season 1 Episode 17 - "Surrender" - March 31, 2019 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charmed_(2018_TV_series)Per TVGuide: The Elders are not wise. Why does Nikko think everything is the Sarcana's fault? Yeah, Harry is back. Oh NO, Fiona's has Harry.

Season 1 Episode 18 - The Replacement - April 21, 2019 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charmed_(2018_TV_series)per TVGuide: Liked the twist with Galvin possessed by the demon. Sorry that Galvin didn't want to be with a Macy that was part demon. The Nikko at Mama Roz's was kinda of a weird jump to Mel portalling to the Sarcana hideout and finding them all dead. Seriously who is Nikko to demand anything from Mel? I don't get the school asking Maggie for tuition in the middle of a semester especially since her mom was a professor there. per Carnegie Mellon "For an eligible faculty member who dies after ten or more years of service, dependent children remain eligible."

I was so busy figuring out Game of Thrones, I did not see this is back.
Good. It should be on my recorder and give me something to watch.

Season 1 Episode 19 - "Source Material" - April 28, 2019 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charmed_(2018_TV_series)Per TVGuide: You would think by now Parker would not believe everything that happens as his father and brother have lied to him again and again and again.

Season 1 Episode 20 - Ambush - May 5, 2019 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charmed_(2018_TV_series)Per TVGuide: Sometimes watching the fight scenes, ambushes, traps etc in this show is so painful. Seriously, if I wanted to have someone body guard me it would not be the Charmed Ones. If I ignore that and the painfully easy way Hunter was able to kill an entire council of experience Elder witches especially in the Elder Council Chamber this show can be fun. I just wish they would not make some fight scenes, plot twists so painfully obvious unless the think their audience is aged 5 to 9.

Season 1 Episode 21 - "Red Rain" - May 12, 2019 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charmed_(2018_TV_series)Per TVGuide: Well, at least they are not keeping the bad guys around too long or ex-boyfriends. Alistair is dead, Fiona is dead, Charity is dead, and Galvin is dead and Macie is now the Source.

In general I like it. I may have gotten behind an episode or two. It seems to be more twisty than the original.

I have just watched the first two episodes of the original Charmed series, I had forgotten how much I enjoyed it and it wasn't that bad. One pet peeve I had then and still have now, many of the boyfriends seem way too old for the girls. They are in their 20's and many of these guys seem in their 40's.

Some of the charm might have been the early 2000 year vibe. The girls remind me of my twenties when there were a lot of simple opportunities.
On the new one, one of the charmed ones has demon blood. That and the backstories take a little a way from weekly enjoyment.

That and the backstories take a little a way from weekly enjoyment. One thing always bothered me about the original series and that it seemed all the girls were interested in was sleeping with some guy, going out and having a good time. This is what female empowerment is all about?

Season 2 Episode 1 - Safe Space - October 11, 2019
The second season starts with a bang, well an assassin. I go have problems with the fight scenes as the long dramatic pauses are too long and OBVIOUS. Nice to totally turn the sisters lives around again. It makes for a clean break with the Calvin and Parker story lines and romances with Macy and Maggie. In fact there are three potential romances in the wind for season 2. Like the locality change to Seattle and dabbling with the new concept of shared office space. The girls are faced with being the only Elders around in charge of a command space. There are no whitelighters, Harry is the only one left. There is a war between demons and witches. There is an Evil Harry, how delicious. Harry and Macy could be a very good match, there is chemistry there.
The show is now airing at 8pm on Friday nights which used to be the kiss of death for a series.

Season 2 Episode 2 - Things to Do in Seattle When You're Dead - October 18, 2019
Luv Macy and Harry dressed up as "demons" it was a good look for both of them and shows again that both actors are more mature than the other two Vera sisters who are still way too high school/college social media/party types.

Season 2 Episode 3 - "Careful What You Witch For" - October 25, 2019
This episode had so many elements of the old show I hated. The simply stupidity of believing what is set in front of you. The incredible stupidity of bringing someone you don't know to your secret sanctum. The incredible stupidity of not removing the tracker in the person you rescued. Just stupid, stupid, stupid cringe worthy plotting.
I did like one element when the guy with the boxing business told Maggie not to feel guilty about competing against him for a job. This was a strong message for women and I liked they writers handled that entire scenario.

Season 2 Episode 4 - Deconstructing Harry - November 1, 2019
Abigael, friend, foe, frenemy? Acting is on a higher level then the normal vapid Charmed scripts call for. Could be a good thing. I do think the producers struggle a bit with what the want the show to be. A charming reboot of silly girls with powers mainly interesting in their next booty call, or an interesting paranormal with romance, action, and adventure.
Luv that Abigael refers to Mel as Potion Girl and that Mel is upset that she used to be one of the most powerful witches in the world for what all of a college semester.
Interesting twist about the whitelighters origins.

Season 2, episode 5 - The Truth About Kat and Dogs - November 8, 2019
I am liking Harry's Darklighter/Whitelighter story line. Then you have the comic relief of Mel and Maggie. It seems like there are two shows, one moody with supernatural tones and there is the one with bad acting and kinda dumb stories.

Season 2, episode 6 - When Sparks Fly - November 15, 2019
While I like the Whitelighter origin story and how it affects Harry, I equally detest the cringe worthy Maggie's luv story with Jordan it is so awkward to watch and I don't think most males would put up with her antics and just label her and off her meds.

Season 2, Episode 7 - "Past Is Present" - November 22, 2019
Interesting where this is going. I like Abigael, they need a really good bad guy and she is doing a good job.
The twist of not really drinking the truth potion while faking you did was fun.
Wonder if Kat will be back?

Season 2 Episode 8 - "The Rules of Engagement" - December 6, 2019Well Maggie decides to marry Parker to save the witches, she really does not want to get married right now. Thank you, a smart decision for a young immature girl, barely out of high school barely a freshmen in college who just lost her mom, her dad, her entire life as she knew it. So of course it goes horribly wrong.

Season 2 Episode 9 - "Guess Who's Coming to SafeSpace Seattle" - January 17, 2020
Fun episode with Maggie and Mel's father, Ray, back in the picture. Ray is an Indiana Jones type and it causes lots of trouble. I liked the Ghostbusters, wacky magic, treasure hunter, Indiana Jones, the Mummy vibe of this episode.
I always feels as if the romance portion of this show fails miserably, as if comes across very juvenile vs adult. I do like the tension between Macy and Harry, you know that would be fabulous. Surprisingly they introduce a new man into Macy's life and he is a good match for the scientific part of her.
Now that Maggie is not chasing Jordan it levels the playing field. I still do not feel the chemistry between the two.

Season 2 Episode 10 - "Curse Words" - January 24, 2020
I liked and enjoyed this episode. I think the show is finally coming into its own. My main pet peeve with the original show and the reboot is the sappy romance. The original show supposedly is about female empowerment and let's face some of the female empowerment and the high ratings were due to watching 20 somethings running around in skimpy outfits, braless, overpowering bad guys in really bad fight sequences. I detested season 1 of the reboot mainly for the sappy love stories, for watching dominant lesbian feminist Mel be angry to everyone, for Maggie be an empty headed girl who just wants to have fun and seemed to only have a purpose if she had a boyfriend, and Macy really, her self worth is based on if she is a virgin and not a normal sexually active female and to be mocked because she still was one. Even in season 2 where there was this sappy relationship between Jordan and Maggie, it was all one sided and seemed stupid. The last two episodes were a turn around for the show. The Mel and Maggie and their father Ray. That added a very interesting note to the series. I like that the girls are all maturing a bit, there are developing layers. This episode the relationship between Jordan and Maggie seemed real based on the most honesty the two have had since they have met. Henry and Macy's relationship just went up another level. I luv it that Henry is adding layers and that he not the simply cardboard figure of a White Lighter.

Season 2 Episode 11 - "Dance Like No One is Witching" - January 31, 2020
The show is getting much, much better. The budding attraction between Maggie and Jordan is on a more equal footing. They are playing off each other well, and naturally. Jordan will be around awhile to balance the scales of justice for what his Witch Finder ancestor did.
Still don't know who the new big bad is.
Abigail I think is playing a long game with the three girls and with Harry.
I liked how Macy is intrigued with Julian, and again they play off each other well. The show is getting away from the silly girl romances to more serious relationships with layers.
I wonder if Mel and Abigail are potential lovers?

Season 2 Episode 12 - "Needs to Know" - February 7, 2020
Macy, Macy, Macy, for such a smart women why, why, why do you always jump in without thinking about the consequences. Abigail now has your fire powers.
The mysterious group was after Helen the original White and Dark lighter.
I kinda like the team has matured a bit and moving on.

Season 2 Episode 13 - "Breaking the Cycle" - February 21, 2020
Wow, once you got past the first couple of minutes of Macy flagellating herself this was a pretty good episode.
Season 1 this reboot tried to rekindle the flavor of the original show and that is OK as that what all reboots do. After all the original show was a bit of fluffy escapism using the 3 original sisters womanly charms to attract viewers and to advocate woman power. Season 1 of this series did the fluffy romances especially with Maggie and Parker that I used to gag on a regular basis. Season 2 created a new situation and while at times there has been some backsliding the series is creating its own identity. I like that the writers are delving into the history of the Charmed Ones. I am not surprised that there have been other Charmed Ones before. Crisis and dangers situations happen all the time all over the world and there is always a need for a Charmed One or Charmed Ones. I like that there was some growing up between the girls however I do wish there was more of a connection between the girls. I do feel like Macy is the odd one out. That does take time to resolve and I hope that works out.
This episode was a great step forward in the Darklighter vs Whitelighter what seemed a fight between Jimmy and Harry. I like where this is going.
Is that little girl really safe now?
Harry and Abigail have a really nice chemistry together and I would luv to see where that would go. Doesn't everyone thing Abigail is only pursuing Harry for nefarious reasons with a tiny little hint of maybe just for herself? I can tell Harry wants to pursue it but it could be a trap, his heart broken, his life ruined.

Season 2, Episode 14 - "Sudden Death" - February 28, 2020
Jordan and Abigail, nice idea that he can save witches from both the organization and demons.
Macy plays off nicely with both Harry and Julian.
I liked that Abigail totally misread the entire Parker, Jordan, misdirection thing.
Aha, I thought Julian's aunt would have something to do with the organization that is catching magic creatures.
