I can watch the old Charmed over and over again. I liked the zany-ness, problem solving and romance.
As the reboot started, I thought oh no, there is not going to be a grandma support person. Boo Hoo
It looks like their white lighter is a bad guy. hmmm We will see. So far, so good,

per Google:
I was a fan of the old show, especially Alyssa Milano and when I heard they were doing a reboot I was Okayyyyyyy, how are they going to do it. Then I saw how they changed stuff from the original series, I was Heck NO! Anyway I decided to give the show a chance, it had to be better than Supergirl. Initial impression, ok. Boy I do not like the angry one, and it seemed a tad stereotypical with her being an angry lesbian, and the whole MeToo thing going on, it could rather old really quickly. It actually came together quite well, and I was rooting for the girls in their first demon fight. I ended with feeling that was quite fun and feeling kinda happy and positive.

I was a huge fan of the original series growing up and I have absolutely no interest in this reboot, not only do I dislike all the changes they made, but I watched the trailer and it looks awful, nope not interested at all.
I would've much preferred if they had made a sequel to the original series instead of a reboot, I would've loved to have watched a sequel series that focused on the children and grandchildren of the original Halliwell sisters, this way the show would've focused on different characters but still tie into the continuity of the original Charmed series.

My sister and I watched it and we are going to give a chance. We are a huge fans of the original I have watched it in order a number of times. I do like the new special effects. I just have to keep saying it's not Charmed because they are definitely re-defining some of the basic Charmed rules.

Ok I'm going to give the reboot a try, I will watch the first few episodes and see how I feel about it before I make my final decision whether to continue or drop it...but my expectations are going to be very low.

I enjoyed last night. I definitely feel that the original creator should be getting residuals/money.
Mirrors destroying demons--I think that could be too narrowing for plot lines. How is one sister going to get her smoking hot, half demon, hunk of burning love who will do anything for her?

Season 1 Episode 2 "Let This Mother Out" - October 21, 2018 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charmed_(2018_TV_series)The hot tempered sister is getting to me, way too judgmental, and short tempered. Overall enjoyed the episode. The girls are too naive in regards to believing people or what they wanted to believe was true. The whole truth serum going to the wrong person while a very old cliché was fun to watch.

My favorite part of the "update" is when they decided to say "Meghan Markle" so they wouldn't say "Harry" and summon him. The first episode I thought Harry was actually a dark lighter...I'm still not sure he is white, even though he can heal. If you watched The Librarians this character is a lot like "Sir Galahad" in personality...a bit cranky and a bit showing his age. They are also channeling Buffy the Vampire Slayer in that they now live in Hell Town rather than San Francisco. I didn't catch the correct name of the town as said by the new sister. I'm going to miss the SF viewscapes. Constance M. Burge is credited as the originator of the show's concept.

What I meant is that Ms. Burge got an actual credit at he opening of the episodes.

so I watched the first few episodes expecting to dislike it and I was right, it was quite boring actually, none of the characters are interesting, don't like the writing either, and the CGI was mediocre.
I don't think I'd continue to watch this, too bad because I was a huge fan of the original series.

I enjoyed it last night. I like some of the jokes like Macy looking for candles and saying "how did they not know mom was a witch?". I liked the harbinger, that make up was scary.

The retrieval of the cookie was gross enough with the back turned. Imagine if they had done cgi from the front? *shiver* Love Harry's fake news reference. I guess he really is a white lighter (by way of English butler ). I'm having some trouble leaving the 90s behind and living with these overly modern girls. It's interesting, though, as long as it doesn't go soapy.

I never really watched the original, so I don't have any preconceived notions about how this new one should be. I'm watching and enjoying it. I like the lead actresses. I enjoyed Sarah Jeffery on Shades of Blue. I'm glad to see her on TV so soon after that show finished.

The original was very 90s - a product of its time. I loved the music as I loved the music in the Buffy series.
This adaptation is very 2018 - the dress, the references, the cell phone addictions. Both have their pluses.

I didn't say I hadn't seen any episodes of the original. It just wasn't a show I regularly watched. I've maybe seen a handful of episodes. It just wasn't my thing. Aside from Holly Marie Combs, I didn't like any of the actresses who played the three leads. She wasn't enough to keep me watching

Overall the original series was cheesy fun. I initially watched the original for Alyssa Milano too but later came to love the other main casts also, sure some of the writing were a bit cheesy sometimes but the original was still much more interesting and so much fun to watch, the original had much better storylines, better and more interesting characters, better acting, better music, just overall much better IMO. This remake in comparison is just boring and bland, I watched the first few episodes and I can't get invested in any of the characters, they're all so bland and uninteresting, the storylines are boring and the acting is horribly bad. Overall this remake is no where near as good as the original, it's very mediocre at best, it doesn't hold a candle to the original.

I find it fascinating that anyone can do a fair comparison between these two tv shows at this point. Charmed Original series aired 20 yrs ago, had 8 seasons, and 178 episodes. This was one of the highest rated shows at the time with an all female leads, and in a genre that really didn't favor women except as the easily killed and disposed of flavor of the week. Supernatural/paranormal/scifi does not go over with the viewing public that well (at least not in 1998), and to have three females who could beat evil dudes on a weekly basis was fun to watch although in the real scope of things not that realistic. Let's face it 90% of the show focused on which lady was sleeping with which guy and why doesn't this one or that one have a boyfriend as we all know women, even powerful, ass kicking witches are not complete without a "man", ineffectual as they tended to be on the show except if they secretly are a Prince of Evil. All this is being compared to a Charmed (Reboot) that just aired a total of 4 episodes. A little early to form a fair and unbiased opinion.

Season 1 Episode 4 - "Exorcise Your Demons" - November 4, 2018 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charmed_(2018_TV_series)Glad they continued this episode from last week. Nice to see the sisters find an alternative solution to simply killing the demon. It was a nice touch to see the show acknowledge other forms of magic than the standard, as the banishing spell was based on Sangria and done in Spanish.I was a little shocked & surprised that Nico's cop partner was killed. There are consequences to being a witch and fighting evil, I was not expecting that. I really didn't like that the Elders decided to muck up the detective's reputation and have him labeled a serial killer. They didn't need to go there and do that. The very last scene confused a bit. Was Charity working with a demon or was she spelled?

Yeah, none of the episodes I saw of the original series could have passed the Bechdel test, that's for sure!
I'm enjoying the new series. That it isn't just like the original isn't a bad thing IMO. That being said, if the Buffy reboot actually happens, I'm fully prepared to bash it black and blue

That being said, if the Buffy reboot actually happens, I'm fully prepared to bash it black and blue While Charmed Original had it's flaws and reboots typically fail, and I was not convinced a reboot was a good idea, Charmed Reboot is charming. However, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the TV series not the movie, is on a pinnacle of storytelling that would be incredible to beat and I too would join you in the sneering, baiting, bashing, and insulting of any remake.
