I LOVE this show! It's probably my favorite show right now. It's so weird and funny and clever and SMART. What other comedy regularly tackles moral philosophy? And has giant flying shrimp? I love the whole cast. It's one of the few shows that, when it's canceled (hopefully MANY seasons from now), I'll be genuinely sad.
I love that we found out that Pillboi is called Pillboi because one of his jobs is giving out the pills at the nursing home!
The actor playing Donkey Doug was SO perfect as Jason's father. He had all the Jason vocal inflections down. Great casting. "BORTLES!"
Last week we finally got confirmation about Eleanor saying in season 1 that Chidi is "surprisingly jacked!" I, for one, was NOT expecting that when he took his shirt off! That scene in the lecture hall with Chidi making that disgusting chili was a riot. I initially tuned into this show for Kristen Bell and Ted Danson, but I've grown to love the rest of the cast as well.
This show has some of the best lines on TV. Eleanor describing clam chowder (in the clam chowder fountain) as "hot ocean milk with dead animal croutons"
OMG. I bawled my eyes out! I guess they needed to shake things up, but that was rough. I’m going to be so pissed if Chidi falls in love with Simone... and Eleanor has to watch
Me, too (on both the bawling and the being pissed). I'm pretty sure the thing with Simone will happen, and even if it doesn't, with Eleanor playing the role of the person in charge, Chidi won't see her as a possible romantic interest or even a friend. 😪
Is anyone else listening to The Good Place the Podcast? I've started listening to podcasts while I work in my studio and I just started this one a few days ago. It's hosted by Mark Evan Jackson (Shawn) and features actors, show runners, various crew members (casting directors, people in the art department, etc.). Really interesting if you're a fan of the show.
