My absolute LEAST favorite of all the HGTV shows is Love It or List It. I can't stand those two. I used to watch it occasionally just to see if the clients would buy new or keep old. Then I read an article that said that they film the ending both ways and show the ending the producers want. Not always the decision actually made! Now I have no reason to watch. I think the guy (sorry, can't remember his name) is creepy. My absolute least favorite too. Both of them are irritating.

It is so scripted, isn't it obvious. This is basically a remodel home and the owners have no intention of selling their homes. Some of the requests are ridiculous and impossible to do given the budgets. I will watch the beginning and the ending to see what they did with the home. Hilary really does nice kitchens and bathrooms.

Good Bones Season 4, Episode 5 Nothin's Easy on East Street House Stats and planned budget: Square Feet | 1300 | Bedrooms | 3 | Baths | 1 | Price | $50,000 | Original Budget | $170,000 | Total Investment | $220,000 | Potential Profit | $35,000 |
Interesting to note that the ladies had bought a block of homes (five it seems) a couple of years ago and have already renovated at least two with little profit. I found it hilariously to watch the wreck of a house next door going through a partial renovation that looks as if it stopped. I do wish they had told us the total square footage of the renovated house. The shed had been torn down and a two story addition put in it's place. I do like that the ladies always think to add a half bath/powder room and a laundry room to their homes. I do wish they would show the back yard like they used in to in the early seasons. I miss not seeing the backyard. Amazing what adding two larger windows and a little decorative vent do to the curb appeal of the home. Luv'ed the bit of wallpaper they put on the front of the island, looks great. Glad they were able to sell the home and make some profit. I think they might be making more money making appearances at home shows and t-shirts off their websites. I do luv that they always showcase small businesses in the area and use local artists to stage their homes. What ended up happening: Square feet | unknown# | Bedrooms | 3 | Baths | 2.5 | Original Price | $50,000 | Final Budget | $195,000* | Total Investment | $245,000 | List Price | $280,000 | Sold At | $278,000 | Profit | $33,000 |
#The original shed structure at the back of the house that contained the kitchen was torn down and a new two story structure built that contained the master bedroom, master bathroom, powder room and laundry room, and a staircase to a second story that contained two bedrooms and a bathroom. The amount of square footage was not disclosed. *The city cut the water pipe to the house as it was lead and Mina and Karen had to put in a new water pipe that cost them $15,000. If that is subtracted from the final budget, it was still $10,000 over the original estimate. The ladies were looking to make $35,000 profit of this house.

Everything about that show feels staged, including most of the client meltdowns.

The only reason I like watching Love It Or List It is Hillary. I like the ideas she comes up with and the creative way she rethinks spaces. I wish she wouldn't be so afraid of colors -- she mostly makes all white/light gray rooms. But I enjoy watching her reveals.
David is kind of a nebbish, but he knows it and uses it, which is why they are paired together. The show is designed for him to lose most of the time. Most of the time they are funny together, but in more recent seasons they get downright snippy with each other which isn't as enjoyable.
Sure parts of the show are scripted, and some problems manufactured, and the outcome not always true. Guess what? It's the same with most of the other shows too. It's all up to how much you want to suspend disbelief.

Ah, so that is why they must have used Arie as a Relocation Expert in The Netherlands...Real Estate and Agents are hard to find.

I'm new to the site so I'm still figuring out how to do stuff. I've been binge watching Desert Flippers and it seems to me that Eric is on Lindsey's last nerve! lol! Has anyone else noticed this or am I imagining things? She just seems so short with him and isn't laughing at his jokes much anymore. Wonder if they are going the way of Tarek and Christina from the original Flip or Flop?

Are there news episodes since then?) I do remember thinking that they didn't seem to be having as much fun together toward the end as they did in the beginning. They did seem more tense around each other.

She is definitely irritated with him ALL.the.time. lol! I just wondered if anyone else had noticed!

I couldn't find anything either, but the way they are interacting on the most recent shows seems definitely different, at least to me. I actually love this show, so I was disappointed to see that they didn't seem to have the same chemistry that they did in the earlier shows. I watched the original flip or flop series and after a while I noticed how Christina seemed irritated or would roll her eyes at Tarek lol! I always wondered how those two ended up together.

They both seem to be very wise when it comes to finances. Sometimes you are gifted with natural talent and she seems to be.

That is an interesting article. I didn't realize that Discovery had bought HGTV, too. Does that mean that HGTV could be part of the new channel that Chip and Joanna are doing? I had thought that it was only the DIY channel that was being folded into that.

Luv Desert Flippers and the couple seem to like each other and enjoy each others company and the work they do. All I noticed is that they seem more relaxed in front of the cameras. With Christina and Tarek on Flip or Flop is was very obvious from the beginning that the relationship was eroding and it just got worst and worst.

Good Bones - another pretty house! I hope the sale went through, they deserve to make a decent profit once in a while, they do very good work and don't make a ton of money from it. Christina on the Coast - that kitchen wasn't awful, but it looked so cold to me. All black, gray, and white. I liked the house itself with the mid-century modern thing going on, though. Adding those big doors to the outside really opened it up a lot. Unspouse My House - yikes. I hate yellow and black together, so I wasn't a fan of the kitchen. Nor of the bedroom with its screaming red walls. But, it suited the homeowner and that's what counts. The bathroom with the blush walls and dark vanity was really pretty.

I liked the kitchen, yes it suited the owner, and it was nice to see something not all white or grey. That kitchen would look good if the cabinets were other colors. I could see it in white, black, blue, or green. I would draw the line at red or orange cabinets. The basics are there with a really large pop of color.

Good Bones - Season 4 Episode 6 - Chop and Pop - June 25, 2019 Another of the East Street properties. I really like that they redo the floor plans and think about their potential customer, young professionals, a young couple with a child, someone downsizing and wanting to be closer to town. Before: footage | 1722 sq ft | cost of house | $50,000 | rooms | 2 bd 1 bath | renovation budget | $180,000 | total in | $230,000 | sell for | $300,000 | potential profit | $70,000 |
I did like what Mina and Karen did with the house. They do more then most flippers, I noted that they always put in a powder room and a laundry room in the house. They always try to improve the curb appeal of any home they do both structurally (aka larger windows, a decorative vent) and landscaping. They fence their properties and put in decks for outdoor living. They did a great job on this house and the living/dining/kitchen looks amazing. I noticed they are using the darker titanium stainless steel package. It goes well with the carara marble backsplash, the white quartz countertops, and the white shaker cabinets. Yes, I am getting tired of all white kitchen but what I luv about these ladies is that they provide pattern and texture and that adds depth to their kitchen designs so they always look fresh. The double stacked cabinets always look good. I noticed this episode that they really provide a lot of light in the home with tons of recessed lighting, under kitchen cabinet lighting, and the then add a pop with chandeliers. Their wallpaper feature wall/hallway wall really looks good with the tone on tone design that looks like the spirals Karen wanted. The master bathroom floor tile was nice and lined up beautifully in the toilet room. that was one big shower. I do wish they had installed a hand hand wand in the shower. I do wish they would show us the second bathroom and backyard. I always luv the way they stage a home and it helps that both Mina and Karen have an artistic eye and good relationships with various craftspeople and artists in the neighborhood. Luv how Karen had to rescue the tarantula. Boy they luv to torture poor Corey. After: square footage | not available | Bedrooms | 3 | Bathrooms | 2.5 | price of house | $50,000 | reno budget | $190,000 | total investment | $240,000 | list price | $309,000 | potential profit | $69,000 |
Actual: list price | $309,000 | offer | $290,000 | sale price | $295,000 | profit | $55,000 |

From the Timber and Love Instagram today:
Personally, it sounds like HGTV is trying to screw them over. They didn't have these issues with Good Bones, Restored By the Fords, Hometown, or Windy City Rehab. And putting them on Saturday mornings (when a lot of people are either in bed or running errands) is the kiss of death.

Not so much as long as folks watch their DVRs within the 3 day window. I watched later Saturday afternoon.
