Watched A Brady Christmas Special. I thought the limited series and the special were lame and boring. I don't get the love. A waste of time to me. I turned it to watch something else.

For me the original show a few months ago was fun and had some touching moments -- either you were a fan of the old show or you weren't.
But the Christmas edition was really thin. Not much going on, since the house was already transformed -- it's supposed to be a challenge to decorate it for the holidays? Meh.

While I enjoyed the original restoration show I didn't bother watching the holiday show.

I enjoyed watching the holiday show.
Learned how to create professional-looking, oversized, outdoor Christmas decorations, clever 70's inspired canapes, and a hidden inside blocked, two-toned jello mold.

Rehab Addict is now on HGTV Sunday nights.
I tried to watch it, but her voice...grates.

I taped and watched Holmes and Holmes on HGTV last night. I just ran into it and forgot how much I enjoyed these shows. The son is all grown up and a contractor on his own, the daughter is also grown up and nine months pregnant when this was shot. I feel like I missed so much of their lives. I hope this wasn't a one off as they did have the subtitle of fan favorite.
ETA: A little research showed that they have been showing episodes on HGTV Canada and the DIY network. They are now in their third season. Mike made a comment about I hope you like our show at 11 AM on HGTV Friday...what I watched must have been a later in the evening repeat on Sunday.
There will be three shows (repeats from DIY) on Sunday at 7p,8p and 9p. On my radar now.

It's a new year, and apparently people haven't learned anything! The City of Chicago slapped yet another "Stop Work order" on another Windy City Rehab property. This is AFTER they apparently ironed out things with the city, and while they aren't allowed to buy new properties to rehab they can continue to work on the properties they already own now. blockclubchicago.org/2020/01/02/chicago-stops-windy-city-rehab-work-in-ukrainian-village-again/Victoria and Co. need to get it together.

She's just...ugh. Is it too much to hope that they won't have enough completed projects to fill out an entire season of Windy City so HGTV can give Boise Boys some love? They actually do things the right way, and they're so much more likable.
Oh, a new season of Christina on the Coast starts tonight. Whee.

According to Victoria the new season is going to air this summer. I can understand why the show is so popular (not everyone lives in small towns, the suburbs, or small cities which is where a vast amount of HGTV shows are so it's nice to see a show set in a major metropolitan area for once) and I like the show, so I wish they would...just not. Do things the right way, and they wouldn't have these issues.

Watched the HGTV House Party and they have a show called Frozen in Time that Maureen McCormick - Marcia Brady will host. I also saw Generation Renovation with Jan Brady. I think we have a bit of over kill with the Brady Bunch.

Someone hates Alison and or Donovan or didn't get money they thought they should have from HGTV to film in Chicago. I know from articles from other shows that multiple properties need to be bought and worked on per a filming schedule which is very different from a normal building/renovation/work schedule. I wonder if they just could not pull the permits fast enough to keep up with the filming schedule? It seems pretty obvious that someone from the city is keeping close tabs on Alison and Donavan. I mean they shut Donovan down for a year. That is harsh.

Victoria stated in that article that she had to go with another company to finish some of her buildings so the show could have some material next season.

Donovan and Alison's arrogance is to much. Sometimes you have to suck up to city officials and maybe she needs to learn that. Even in my small city it can be that way. Outside builders won't hardly build in my city because of city regulations and the cost so it isn't always big cities. Getting permits in my city for outsiders has been tough and they will tell you that.

OMG, when it rains, it pours. I really liked this house too. On the one hand, wouldn't a good home inspection catch a great deal of these things? On the other, you expect a brand-new rehab to be in tip-top shape.
edit: Apparently Alison and Donovan are on the outs as well.

Wow, that house had a lot of problems for a freshly rehabbed place. And Donovan's bouncing reimbursement checks to the buyers? She'd better regroup and get her stuff straight before HGTV drops her.

I see ads for a new season of Home Town coming up later this month. Yay! Last week's Christina On the Coast featured yet another homeowner who was terrified of colors. Even gray was scary for her, apparently. So she ended up with the usual white cabinets, whitish countertops, and had to be talked into a gray backsplash instead of white. Zzz.

I'm so tired of all-white kitchens and everything else. Granted, white can be nice is you're using a lot of colorful accessories, pictures, throw rugs, and other things around the house but that's rarely the case; generally it's beige, grey or brown. I think that's why I like Hometown and Boise Boys so much; they don't shy away from colorful kitchens.
Speaking of Boise Boys, there's going to be a Boise Boys/Restaurant Impossible mashup this week as Luke redesigns a restaurant that Robert Irvine is working with, so if you have Food Network you might want to check it out.

Christina on the Coast - the wife claimed to love bright colors and ended up with (you guessed it) a gray and white kitchen. It looks like the two "lost" episodes of Boise Boys are up on HGTV to watch... Boise Boys

I am going to try and go there and see some of their houses. Bentonville is also home to the Walmart Corp.

Because they posted on their Instagram today that you can watch the two episodes but only thru the app.
edit: I clicked the link and apparently it's available on the website as well! Great episodes featuring an Art Deco and a Gingerbread house with gorgeous renovations.

Were they not part of the regular season, or did HGTV just not make them available after the first time they were shown?

I was able to watch Boise Boys two "new" shows through the HGTV GO stream on the Roku device. It isn't in the cable on demand feature, but it is available online at the HGTV website.

HGTV really screwed them over.

Thanks, Kao ! i'm glad they were finally aired. It's an enjoyable show. I wonder why HGTV has treated them so poorly. I have no idea! The guys have been very close-lipped about it and have continued to do promotional work for HGTV but I think that is part of their contract. Meanwhile, they are keeping them on the edge as to whether or not the show will be renewed. Here's what they said around the holidays on FB:
So there are things coming, but what they can't legally say.
