Recap of Episode 6: Hole N.5-17.5 was dug with wood found at 99 feet, perhaps a different tunnel than the one they have been following. Hole F.25-14.14 was dug 45 feet northwest of N.5-17.5 and is 37 feet southwest of the Garden Shaft. More wood was found. Hole IJ-15.25 is being dug 16 feet south of F.25-14.14. The steel and concrete foundation pad around the top of the Garden Shaft has been completed.

And we have - yet again - delays because of permitting issues. I've noticed that when that happens, Laird Niven is nowhere near the Lagini brothers - especially Marty. Marty has - in the past - been pretty vocal about his dislike of delays caused by governmental issues. And Laird is the personification of the government on Oak Island.

Recap of Episode 7: The reconstruction of the Garden Shaft has been halted due to permit issues, as it is now considered a mining operation. Hole IJ-15.25 was dug with nothing found. Hole L-15 was dug 15 feet south of IJ-15.25 and 65 feet south of the Garden Shaft. A 10-foot void was found at 146 feet. A camera was put down the hole and a 3D-scan will be done of the area. A geophysical scan of the Swamp using a conductivity device is being done to find targets up to 30 feet.

Recap of Episode 8: A sonar camera was put in the L-15 hole, revealing a 27 by 12 foot cavity in the limestone. The four-acre Lot 5 is no longer off-limits private property and is now explorable. It has now been bought after the previous landowner died in 2020.

Recap of Episodes 9 and 10: Hole D-17.5 was dug 18 feet south of the Garden Shaft. Wood was found with indications that an unknown shaft may be there. More water samples were taken and traces of gold appear to be originating from a blob area 15 feet left of the Garden Shaft, some 80-110 feet underground.

Recap of Episode 11: Digging has began in the 70x25 foot blob area west of the Garden Shaft. CN-11 was dug 27 feet west of the Garden Shaft, nothing was found but the dirt was disturbed, possibly from a tunnel nearby. Soil samples taken from a nondescript well in Lot 26 indicate it was built some 1000 years ago.

I'm beginning to think of some of these "experts" like the paid forensic witnesses at trials. If you have enough money, you can get someone to say almost anything you want.

Recap of Episode 12: DN-13.5 was dug 14 feet west of the Garden Shaft. Wood was found around 93 feet at the same depth wood was found in DN-12.5, five feet to the west of DN-13.5. After a six-week delay, the final paperwork is being processed and work on the Garden Shaft rehabilitation project should resume shortly.

What a bunch of claptrap. Anyone with eyes can see that the arms of Nolan's Cross are not even the same length. Just to be sure, I froze the screen and had hubby measure the actual cross overhead shot. The left arm was 6-1/4", and the one on the right was 7-5/8". Not even close. Plus, the intersecting angles between the horizontal and vertical were not even exact right angles on Nolan's Cross. The guy's measurements and diagram were off. And then the yellow dotted line from the center crosspiece to the outer circle was not even a straight line.
I also question the use of the sacred numbers. Those were a reference to measurements in churches and cathedrals, not a way of finding buried treasure.
Disappointed that they're thinking viewers are stupid enough not to notice such obvious discrepancies. The real Nolan's Cross is an apple. This guy was measuring oranges.

Well, maybe the rocks moved over the last few hundred years Anyway, the intersection of the three lines plus a line going to Smith's Cove winds up meeting in the Blob area just west of the Garden Shaft. Recap of Episode 13: Work on the Garden Shaft has resumed after a six-week delay. The first 16 feet has been finished and the muck below that is being scooped out. Hole digging in the Blob Area has been suspended in favor of tunneling horizontally across from the Garden Shaft instead.

Hubby and I think the "original work" Rick is seeing at the bottom of the shaft is some discount paneling from Home Depot with mud slapped on it. Those lines were suspiciously straight.

Yeah, the boards at the bottom sure didn't look dilapidated or deteriorated... Recap of Episode 14: Garden Shaft has now been rehabilitated to 44 feet. First time Rick has been underground at the Money Pit. Water tests in the Blob Area indicate high levels of brass and bronze so a new Baby Blob area was created that is a third of the old size (20x20 feet). Nothing was found in the first hole made in the Baby Blob area (DN-9.5).

Last night, we watched - for the first time - "Monty Python and the Holy Grail." By the end we were calling it, "Monty Python on Oak Island." LOTS of parallels.

Watching the latest episode, I got to wondering whether Craig Tester has been hanging out at the Botox Salon on Oak Island. His face seems less lined, and his eyelids look less droopy.

Recap of Episode 15: The Garden Shaft has now been rehabilitated to 60 feet, where an old ladder was found there. Hole DN-11.5 was dug. A void was found at 90 feet. Wood was found at 97 feet, perhaps from a tunnel leading to the Garden Shaft. Traces of gold was found in the piece of wood.

I was kind of thinking/ hoping it's because he's not in such grief over his son's passing. He aged so much immediately after that.

I hope the same, but having had my own eyelids fixed, I suspect he has done that as well. Recovering from grief won't eliminate droopy eyelids.

The old ladder they found on the bottom of the shaft sure didn't look old and rickety either...Could have gotten that at Home Depot too

Hubby opines that they've dug so many holes into "tunnels" that one solid rainstorm will cause the entire Money Pit to collapse. And the spot will hereinafter be known as "Oak Lake."
Also - why is their "expert" on old stone walls actually a tree technician?

Also - why is their "expert" on old stone walls actually a tree technician? That might have happened but remember one of the earlier treasure hunters bulldozed the entire place until the hole filled with water some 100 feet down... You talking about the tree growing in the stone wall? By measuring the tree rings you can get an idea of how old the wall is...

You talking about the tree growing in the stone wall? By measuring the tree rings you can get an idea of how old the wall is... There was a form of copper mining used in Bisbee, Arizona that's now known as the Lavender Pit. They dug it in such a way that the sides are big enough for dump trucks to take the dirt out of the bottom by driving around the outside edge. Every time I see another hole go down into the "Money Pit," I can't help but wonder whether something more like a smaller version of the Lavender Pit would have turned up more dirt treasure for the same amount of money. I know that the government of Canada would probably not have permitted this, but that doesn't make me stop wondering. As to my comments about the wall expert/tree technician, I know about the whole counting rings thing. But this guy seemed to know about ancient construction methods of stone walls in a way that was odd, given his job. He didn't seem to have any academic credentials to speak so knowledgably.

Recap of Episodes 17 and 18: Kinda boring, not much going on in these two episodes... A series of twelve 20-foot probe drill holes in the Garden Shaft walls 65 feet down are currently underway. A buried well on the north side is being investigated. A quadrilateral rock formation in Lot 13 is also under investigation.

Recap of Episodes 17 and 18: Kinda boring, not much going on in these two episodes...A series of probe drill holes in the Garden Shaft walls 70 feet down are currently underway. A buried well on the north side is being investigated. A quadrilateral rock formation is also under investigation. We actually gave up and turned this one off . . . boring and becoming pointless. If these guys were into doing crafts, their whole house would be one big mess of unfinished projects. The following could be spoken by any/all of them in no particular order, but illustrates their "thought process." - "It's cold at night. We need to have a new blanket." - "You're right. I'll go buy some crochet yarn and hooks and we can make one." - "I'll go buy some fabric so we can make a quilt." - "I think we should knit one. I'll go buy some yarn, too. And knitting needles. Or we could ask Gary to find something we can use with his metal detector." - "We can tear some old t-shirts into strips and weave them into a blanket." - "Great idea. But let's order some t-shirts online from a custom place and wait for them to be delivered." - "Maybe we should just go to Goodwill and buy a used one." - "Or we could use some of the money from the Oak Island treasure and buy a new blanket, bedspread, and matching pillow covers and curtains." None of what they do is making a lick of sense because they don't see anything through.

If these guys were into doing crafts, their whole house would be one big mess of unfinished projects. Probably the main reason for that is government red tape, as they have to apply for a permit to do digging outside of the Money Pit. So they have to do some initial digging first to gather enough evidence to support getting approval for a permit to dig more in that area...

Recap of Episodes 20 through 22:
Currently working on revealing a stone ramp in the middle of the Swamp. There's a delay on finishing the repair of the Garden Shaft to deal with pressure from soil movement on the bottom of the shaft.
Other than that, not much excitement the last few episodes...
