We watched Hitman. A little on the odd side, but a nice Saturday night at-home date.
I kept thinking that Gary/Ron looked familiar and looked him up on IMDB. Turns out he was in a movie I love - "Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society"! Pulled it up on Netflix this morning while having coffee. He played Julia's American boyfriend. Clean-shaven, in a really nice suit with his hair slicked back.
It always amazes me how actors can change themselves for so many different roles.

Okay, Bridgerton watchers! I just watched ep 5 on the live stream from the London premiere and HOLY SMOKES! I won't spoil anything, but maybe don't watch with your grandmother. It was hot. I don't smoke and I needed a cigarette! SO much happens in just one episode. It was great scene after great scene. Now I wait 9 1/2 hours for the rest!

I watched it all and it's hella crazy, lol. I was entertained! And yes, Nicola has the best boobs ever! Definitely a member of the perfect breasts community! (shout out if you saw that Q&A in Dublin!) I was thinking, "They're real and they're spectacular!" I wish we'd had more scenes like that. Really, that's the only quibble I had with the season. The stuff at the end with Pen and Eloise just made my heart sing. Watching seasons 1 and 2 and seeing the closeness of their relationship, knowing what it then became had me in tears.
I think it's telling that, in an interview with Luke, she told him he was going to be the Internet's boyfriend, but instead, SHE'S become the Internet's girlfriend! She's up to 5M followers on IG (I think he’s at 2.3M). As I commented on FB yesterday, she's become the hall pass for a ton of women who previously considered themselves 100% straight! Not only is she gorgeous and so talented, she never appears to be anything but really kind to everyone. IIRC, when Luke met her mom at their premiere in Galway, he said, "Thank you for making her so kind."
I'll probably re-watch the season in the next week or two, but for now, I'm taking a Bridgerton break. I feel like I have a hangover! The announcement of the season 4 lead should be coming soon. Fingers crossed for Benedict! I think they did lay the subtle groundwork for that (even though I LOVED his experimentation this season) with mention of the masquerade ball.
People are debating about whether or not Julie Andrews will keep narrating the show. They have opinions. Really though, she's 88 or 89 and the next season won't be out until 2026, according to the showrunner. How much longer could she realistically do that job? I love her, but maybe she wants to retire.

That's exactly what I was thinking about. She gave a much nicer reply than I would've because the statement that person made was just tired and tacky. How DARE she be one of the leads on a show (and lets be real here, simply exist) and not be a size two!

I teared up when Pen and Eloise reconciled. How happy to see that. Nicola is beautiful in every form. She really was the star. Not sure how I feel about Benedict experimenting but I'll be curious where and how it leads him to that masquerade ball. Now Francesca and John. I was disappointed {Spoiler} all that groundwork in presenting her lovely connection to John and with one kiss she looks disgusted and is fawning over his cousin. I know in the book she married his cousin (who was actually in love with her first) and I don't care if they swapped genders but why did they have to ruin this couple right off? I hope they at least give John and her a happy marriage.

Hitman - fun movie! I wish they'd make more like this. Under Paris - this was some SyFy level mess, but not a fun mess like Sharknado. I was laughing the last fifteen minutes. Eric - this was...a lot. 6 episodes packed full of every heavy social issue you can think of, but the acting was outstanding from everyone. Especially Cumberbatch.

Unless he is Michaela's brother, but I don't think that is the case.
And I agree, everyone loved them so it was really disappointing to see. They could have still had her eventually fall for Michaela as John will die, but gee let them have a happy marriage at least!

In more messy Bridgerton news, the actor who plays Colin recently stepped out with his GF, and of course the mouthbreathers online reacted...just the way you think they would. Yes, Polin was fun but I'm not here for people who ship actors based on their characters and getting mad that these people have lives. Some people really need to go outside and touch grass.

They are actors with their own lives. Honestly.

There's a certain subset of the fandom that believes that Jonathan is secretly straight/bisexual who claims to be gay who is having a secret affair with Simone/other women. I really wish people would stop shipping RL people. They're actors, for goodness sakes, it's supposed to be believable if they're doing it right!

I finished up to book 7 while waiting for the second part of season 3 to come out. If you have an audible account, the whole Bridgerton series is free in the available library.
Micheala--I am not crazy about the character change. They are going to have to create a story for Micheala.
Sex scenes and love story--Nichola and Luke did a great job!

I watched the second part of Bridgerton S3. I loved the first two episodes and then I found myself frustrated with how prolonged Colin's anger was. I get it... but wish there was a little bit more happiness between them, before/during/after the wedding. But overall I was pleased with how it all went down. The "mirror" scene, yep I had to pause it a few times. I felt like I was invading their privacy hahahaha. Nicola is gorgeous and owned it and myself as a girl who was a similar size for YEARS, I felt seen. However weird that sounds. Hollywood really needs to make more romantic roles for people who are "normal/heavier sizes". I will probably watch this season over and over because it really struck a chord with me but as of now I need a break, I'm in my feels lol.

Yes, Polin was fun but I'm not here for people who ship actors based on their characters and getting mad that these people have lives. Some people really need to go outside and touch grass. I just hope this isn't the girl who, along with her mother, was apparently liking lots of posts on sm that were critical of Nicola. That's not a good look. She's quite young, so maybe very immature, but still. I can't imagine wanting to be with someone who would behave that way towards my best friend (and Luke often refers to Nicola as his bf).
Really though, you can see why people think/thought they might be together. Their chemistry, in interviews especially, is off the charts. Plus, if you didn't know that Luke has anxiety, you'd see them holding hands all the time as a sign of something more. In the footage from the London premiere, you could see, especially in the footage of them taking that big group shot of the entire cast, that he was really stressed. He had one of Nic's hands in both of his hands at one point and looked like he was melting down a bit from all the chaos. There was another video from the NYC premiere, also during them organizing a big cast photo, where Luke looked anxious and immediately grabbed her hand and she squeezed his hand back. IIRC, they've both referred to each other as their emotional support person. I did see one little video of him with Nic and Luke Thompson from the London premiere where they looked like they were both trying to soothe him a bit. I think they're very close and the hand holding thing also makes for great red carpet photos, which they both probably realize. All that being said, if you'd told me they were together, I wouldn't be surprised.
I've loved seeing all the interviews and cast interactions. You can tell they all really love each other and that it's a happy set. Nic has even said that one of the things she's most proud of is that many (most?) of the crew has been there since season 1. They're highly skilled people who could certainly find other jobs if they weren't happy. Obviously, not all TV and movie sets are happy places, but I like knowing that a show I love has a lovely bunch of happy people working on it.

Not gonna lie, their chemistry in interviews is fantastic but I really wish he had channeled some of that on the show. Half of the time he looked constipated in their love scenes.
Nicole carried Polin on her back but there was a certain comfort in their big love scene that was lovely to see. And after all of the B.S. she pulled I was also happy to see Cressida end up with nothing! LOL, gurl.

I've seen people commenting about how sorry they feel for Cressida and I guess I get it. What a miserable place to have grown up. Still, I can feel sorry for her, and also think she's an a-hole. I've also seen people commenting that they wish she'd gotten together with Lord Debling, but he's NICE. She doesn't deserve him.
One of the things I missed from the book was the friendship between Pen and Lady Danbury. I loved that little moment between them at the Dankworth-Finch ball and the scene with Lady Danbury and Violet talking about Pen. Those two strong women recognize another strong woman.
I think Nicola carried the whole season. I love Luke, but she's on a whole other level, acting-wise. I'm so glad she's getting so much praise and adulation. That love scene was so intimate and real. Kudos to both of them.

Quick question for you Bridgerton book readers:
{Spoiler} Did Cressida lie about being Whistledown and try to blackmail Pen in the books? Because I was really enjoying her friendship with Eloise. And Speaking of Eloise, her response to Cressida telling her she was basically getting sold off to be a brood mare to some old goat wasn't great either.

And Speaking of Eloise, her response to Cressida telling her she was basically getting sold off to be a brood mare to some old goat wasn't great either. Yes! BUT, a lot of the rest of Cressida's storyline is pretty different from the books. I love El, but she is rather self-centered. It's not surprising that she didn't notice Pen's feelings for Colin OR care as much about Cressida's problems as her own.
There are a lot of differences between the books and the show and a lot of people on sm have feelings, but I just look at them as two separate things. Plus, in the books, the rest of the characters who aren't the main couple, are mentioned, but have very supporting roles - nothing that any actor would sign up for. Why would they want to essentially be background actors for so many seasons? Some of the stories are also happening concurrently. IIRC, in one of the first 3 books, they already refer to Colin and Pen being together. (Colin and Pen are book 4)
The books are definitely not great literature, but they're fun.
ETA: This is a really fun little featurette about the filming of the ball in ep 8. Spoilers if you haven't seen it.
It's all I can do to not walk around yelling, "Release the bugs!"

Sorry for the double post. I'm not editing my other post for a third time! There are rumors on sm that there was a sexy montage of Polin that got edited out of the final episode. I am HEATED. I don't know whose boneheaded idea it was to give the lead couple LESS screen time, but if it's true, they need to put it back! They edited that suicide scene in 13 Reasons Why, so it's not unprecedented. They could add that montage back in. It's not like it's network TV where run times are carefully planned. Apparently, it shows {Spoiler}Colin and Pen "making up" all over their house and I need to see that!
ETA: Okay, I'm not triple posting!

Wonderful! Thank you for letting me know. WE watched a documentary last night, Tell Them You Love Me. I never heard of the case before. It had to do with facilitated communication and a woman who took SA a disabled man whom she was helping communicate. He was taking some college courses, writing papers, all the while she "guided" his hand. Then she said they "fell in love" and began a relationship. It was very disturbing. I was reminded of Mary Kay Letourneau.

BENEDICT THREESOME--Yes. I do not see the purpose of that, to show he has been wasting his time? to turn Sophie also into a guy? I didn't want to see that. FRANCESCA'S STORY is going to be 75% different than the book. {Spoiler} It is only Francesca's story because John's cousin's name is "Micheal"a.
