The hubby took me a day before my birthday out for a yummy Chinese lunch...we had beef soup dumplings for appetizers and I had Kung Pao chicken with steamed white rice...not pictured was his dish of crispy fish.
The hubby bought me French pastries for my actual birthday..they were amazing! Macarons, mini Framboise cake and raspberry cream cheese cruffin. My lovely coworker surprised me with a vanilla cake with chocolate, whipped cream and strawberries..very yummy!
I love zucchini bread! I wish my plants would get to producing so I can make some.
waywyrd, I know nothing about gardening and really kill most plants that I try to grow so I have no idea when zucchini growing season is! I'm probably one of the few Italian-Americans who doesn't grow her own tomatoes, zucchini, eggplant, etc. Heck, I even kill basil plants b/c I never remember to water. My husband's brother lives a few blocks away and used to have a garden. Man, I miss his home grown tomatoes and fragrant basil.
Let's see if I remember - green zucchini is a winter squash and yellow zucchini is a summer squash although both seem to grow during the regular season. One of my friends planted green zucchini and it took over the part of the garden the pumpkins misses.

My sister's library offered a Zoom pretzel making class tonight. All the ingredients were bagged and had to be picked up prior to the class. My sister dropped my bag off for me on Saturday. The only thing we had to supply was an egg for the egg wash and the ingredients for the cheddar beer dip. I didn't care about the dip but my son wanted to make it so I sent him to the market for beer as it's not something hubby and I drink. The pretzels themselves only take about 10 minutes to bake. We did 4 with a coarse salt topping and 4 with a cinnamon sugar topping. It was a lot of fun!
