Did you have fun flipping the twist? I still remember the pretzel challenge on Great British Baking Show.

First apple crumble of the season using a mix of apples. I made this tonight as a special dessert for my son who is starting a new job soon.

Aww I need to make some of that. Apple desserts make the house smell SO good when they're baking.

Those look good, nennie. I used my last bit of oatmeal for the crumble. Need to put that and spice cake mix on the grocery list.

Thanks, Arielflies. My son had a piece for lunch with a garden salad. Hubby and I are going to have some tonight with baked chicken and perhaps some potato or rice.

Apple walnut cake baked for hubby's birthday dessert. Slow cooker pot roast with root vegetables. It was so tender that it fell apart when sliced.

My mom used to bake date nut bread all the time but unfortunately I don't have her recipe. The loaf I made today has the addition of raisins. It's good but not as good as my mom's. However, my husband said he doesn't remember his grandmother's date nut bread ever tasting this good!

I made 2 pans of meatless lasagna today and a batch of potato salad. We're going to visit my father-in-law tomorrow and I'm bringing cold cuts for sandwiches, and figured the potato salad would be a good side for the sandwiches. I'm splitting the lasagna between my FIL, my vegetarian son, and some for us.

There used to be a department store, part of a chain, that had a restaurant on site. After a day of shopping my mom, sister and I would grab a bite to eat. Mom always ordered the turkey croquettes. I've never attempted to make them before but had leftover chicken and made some tonight. Easy peasy.

Well, Christmas is upon us, and I started holiday baking a bit late. We won't be spending Christmas with my father-in-law but I'm sending a batch of cookies with my brother-in-law to give Dad, along with his gift. Pignoli cookies, Russian Teacakes aka nut balls aka Mexican wedding cookies, and a dunking cookie that we call Grandma's cookies, were baked. View Attachment View Attachment View Attachment Pignoli were never my favorite but it doesn't seem like Christmas without them.
