I want to see it with some chemical assistance. Most of the reviews made me laugh and I think it will fall into the "so bad it's good" catergory. The clips I've seen of it so far (the dancing cockroaches with faces getting eaten, Idris Alba doing a booty dance as he collects several characters, Ian McKellan looking at the sky while screaming "meowmeowmeow!") had me in hysterics. Don't take 'shrooms like this guy did before watching it. A Conversation With The Guy Who Took Mushrooms And Saw CATSNoooo....I was thinking of refreshments more of the herbal kind and no edibles. This guy's first mistake was eating so many shrooms. If he had just taken only a couple he probably would have been okay.
I died reading this along with the "devil cat that kept making the other cats disappear." Who was that, Idris? I am definitely renting this the instant it's released On Demand!

I saw Little Women today. Wow, what a beautiful version of this story. I've seen the 1994 Winona Ryder version at least a dozen times and love that one when my daughter and I watch it at Christmas. But this one was spectacular and a lovely addition to the '94 version. The casting was great and the directing was superb! I loved the lighting, costumes, music and so much more. I cried, too. My daughter was upset with me that I saw it without her but she's 70 miles away so it wasn't meant to happen today. I'm thinking of driving to her place to see it again in her city this week as I know she will love it. And I will see more in it the 2nd time around. If you appreciate period costumes, architecture and a story about women looking for their place in society, this one is worth watching!

Both look very good, 1917 won a couple of awards at the golden globes.

I watched Showtime's Pavoratti. It is absolutely wonderful! I bet! We saw him live, in the cheapest seats I could find( we saw the back of him) it was incredible. He actually turned around to our balcony, and blew us a kiss, and then said ssshh. We were pretty loud with our praise of him... I'd love to see this movie!

All is True.
A lovely portrayal of Shakespeare's last years, as he rejoins his family in Stratford. Kenneth Branagh is a pleasure to watch as the poet/playwright.Dench and McKellen make this a perfect cast.
If you love Shakespeare, you'll enjoy this movie

Joker - I'm a little freaked out by clowns so this was tough to watch! Joaquin Phoenix was fantastic in his role as Arthur Fleck. I have a goal to watch as many of the Academy Award nominees as I can before the show on Feb. 9 which is only two weeks away! Good thing that I'm retired and it's winter!

Where'd You Go, BernadetteWe loved it! Cate Blanchett is such a layered character showing us how she'd rather talk to technology and not her loved ones. But her daughter , Bee, is a fantastic daughter and such fun thanks to Bernadette. It's humor mixed with sadness , mental health issues and depression, that did not destroy her day to day life, and wonderful camera shots. I'd watch it again.

I went last night to see Just Mercy and loved it. It’s such a fantastic story - I’m glad it was told. jamie Foxx was outstanding. I would have given him an Oscar nomination over Tom Hanks.

Charlize Theron may be the most beautiful woman on the face of the planet. Even Mad Max couldn't hide that fact. Sorry for going off track, but, well I just needed to say it.

We watched Missing Link (on Hulu), an animated movie that won the Golden Globe animation award and is nominated for an Academy Award, too. This is a Laika Studio production. The studio is best known for its stop-motion feature films Coraline, ParaNorman, The Boxtrolls, Kubo and the Two Strings. I was able to see a huge exhibit with the figures used in those other movies at the Portland Art Museum a few years ago so watching this movie was enhanced for me with that better understanding of the filmaking. The story was an adventurous road trip-quest that had kid appeal mixed with some adult humor. It felt a little too slapstick for me at times but overall it was entertaining.

I went to see 1917 today. I’m glad I saw it. It was a very original way to tell a war story and it deserves the accolades it’s getting for that. But I did not feel as emotionally invested in the characters as I think I was supposed to.

I'm going to make time to watch "Parasite". Please do so; it's the best movie I've seen in years. I'm wondering if I should see that. I have a hold on it.
My husband always falls asleep early on the weekends so we rarely get to watch a movie together. Last night I went ahead and had a "me" watch. I saw Booksmart. Not as good as they were saying it was but it kept me entertained.
