That's only because FORT discourages swearing. I use the word when it's needed. It's a good word. Certainly gets the point across like few words can.

Oh for crying out loud...it's just a word for a part of our own body. It's been used a ton of times on housewives. Heck even Courtney on Below Deck just used it on Lexi. Someone call Southern Charm on her! Ring the alarms!!

I haven't heard it, and if it's okay to say, I simply don't like the word.I know full well its a part of my own body, it's not one I use against another women though.. I don't watch below deck, perhaps I'm not missing much If posters on here started saying it, my take is they would be warned. I've seen it said in another forum, it doesn't look good on the poster or the forum.. Cripes, excuse me for agreeing with Patricia

That’s precisely why I said I don’t use it here out of respect for FORT rules. And if it wasn’t clear, I’ll say it to be safe - when I comment I’m commenting only on my opinions and my world. I do not pretend to speak for others or the world they live in.

They have started filming already, maybe right after the reunion? They don't want to miss a sentence. Oh no....they have.....with EJ? There was a month inbetween.

Yeah, not in my world either. In fact I can't think of anyone I know who would use that slur. It's kind of like the "N" word. You know it's a dirty slur and only meant to demean and hurt someone.

I actually don't use it myself. But that isn't because I take offense to it. My go to is b*tch. I happen to think p*ssy and c*nt refer to one of the strongest most powerful parts of the body of both genders so I've never understood why they are used as an insult. I prefer to take the power back into our own hands with those words and not let men control the narrative. Call me a c*nt. I think that just means I'm one badass woman. But that's just me. I don't know if I can count on my hands how many times it's been used on reality tv shows ....I just find it funny that this Southern Charm lady would single out Erika. So many people giving her so much attention

Yes, that's just you.
We all know the "C" word is a nasty slur against women just as the "N" word is a nasty slur against people of color, but it's never acceptable. At least in my world. Maybe in yours?

So far the count I see in this thread is two who find it to be a deeply offensive word and seem to look down on those who use it, and two who find it a descriptive word and don't give it the power of being so offensive that it can neve be used. So I don't think it's accurate to say it's just Juls (ha! Pun not even intended!) Why can't we just accept there's a difference of opinion and not use it as a tool to measure superiority? Different strokes for different folks!
Juls, I totally agree with you on it being odd that Patricia would cling to her pearls for one person but ignore all the others. I think it goes to show that there are some Bravolebrities who will use any moment of adversity for another for self promotion. They are all given a chance by the media to comment on big stories. Some have class and recognize there but for the grace of God go I, and resist commenting, hoping that when they are down on their luck they'll have the favor returned. Others will find any angle they can to make a comment and make sure their own names are in the press. It's not a surprise - it takes a very significant level of fame seeking to agree to go on a reality show anyway, so it fits their personality. But I think those pearly clutching gossip sessions should be seen for what they are - fame seekers seeking fame.

Another article, this time from the NYT. I have a subscription, so I am unaware if it behind a paywall, or not. The Real Trials of a ‘Real Housewife’. Erika Girardi is famous for her lavish lifestyle. Now her husband’s law firm has been accused of misappropriating millions of dollars. It’s all unfolding on TV. www.nytimes.com/2021/10/09/style/erika-girardi-real-housewives.htmlWithin, Erik Brockovich, who still works as an environmental activist and legal advocate, has worked with Mr. Girardi on several other cases, said that until allegations became public, she had been unaware that clients were not receiving their money. She expressed disgust and exasperation towards Tom and Erika Girardi. Here are three notable paragraphs ... "Last December, Jay Edelson, a lawyer who had worked closely with Mr. Girardi in successfully suing Boeing on behalf of the relatives of victims of the Lion Air plane crash that killed 189 people in 2018, filed papers in federal court in Chicago, claiming that Mr. Girardi had embezzled at least $2 million in settlement money owed to these families." "Mr. Edelson has said, in court proceedings, that Mr. Girardi was running a “Ponzi scheme,” using client money to keep his firm running and to pay for the extravagant lifestyle he and his wife shared. Mr. Edelson’s law firm on Monday filed a motion in the bankruptcy proceeding to go after Ms. Girardi for any “traceable assets that were embezzled by Tom and potentially given to Erika.”" "“The first few seasons we kind of liked her, but then we began becoming more and more concerned about our money. Is she spending our money? Now she is very unlikable on the show,” Ms. Ruigomez [burn victim Ricky Rugomez's mother] said. “She seems like she almost has an attitude that we victims ruined her gig.”"

Far from the N word. I think "thug" is closer to that than C you next Tuesday. Nope. Not even close. Also, to me it isn't that Erika uses extremely offensive terminology, it's that she uses it frequently, proving lack of class, intelligence and education. Thing is, even her attorney confers with my particular point of view. Could be that intends to defend her by arguing she's too stupid and simple to know better. In her book, she talked about when Tom and other "great legal minds" discussed cases, they would occasionally ask her of her opinion because they were interested in what at simple minded jury member might think. I don't look at Erika as even of average intelligence and have come to assume that has much to do with her narcissism, and lack of actualization and not a sign empathy.

While I don't like Erika or her temper and foul mouth. I don't think she's really simple, the last few years she's been doing what she wants, when she wants..now that's changed, she will have to be prepared to live off the avails of the housewives show. Unless she wants to get a job back at the *cough* gentleman club..it doesn't get easier for someone like her it will only get more difficult. Unless she finds another rich guy to keep her..she's not that young thing Tom picked up.

Erika Girardi is one angry woman - grasping for "class" she'll never achieve. She said she had a horrible upbringing, a terrible family; she just isn't smart enough or emotionally mature enough to rise above it. She's certainly not educated nor intellectual; she's truck stop stripper material, has videos - that didn't make much money - to prove it. How could this woman pump trash since 2006, blow through millions of dollars trying to be popular, end up the butt of a thousand jokes and insults, and still squeal belligerent vituperation like a cornered rat? Yes, her lawyer could credibly argue she's too simple to know better - and she'll have to eat that with a smile b/c she got herself into it with lies and stupidity. She talks like a narcissist, no empathy. I've read that's a sign of a sociopath. But she's entertaining as all hell, making an asshat of herself every episode.

You forgot the part about her figuring out to be paid a mid six figure salary to do it. Let me tell you, if I could make $600,000 a season as a talentless thug id do it.
I also think we should drop the idea that anyone who goes on these shows is seeking or displaying class. The true classy women would never put their lives on display for money. The closest we’ve seen is Kathy and she’s smart enough to only be a friend so she can limit what she reveals.

I think that Erica has enough talents that she can get jobs other than stripper or Housewife. Actually I don't just think it - I know it. Chicago was neither. She wasn't paid. What was attractive about Erika was RHOBH promotion of the production. The real question is, did Tom secure Erika's spot using Girardi Keese clients' money? Andy Cohen spoke of the production: "“The producers of Chicago are so cheap. It was four of us, they gave us two free tickets and then they made us pay for two. Do you know how much we’re promoting Chicago in the new season of Beverly Hills Housewives? Memo to those cheap producers: You need to comp. All the PR this ratter-tatter production of Chicago…,” Cohen added." "“Chicago has seen better days and no one is running to the Ambassador Theatre to see it, but people are going to see [Jayne]. The cast… is old, man. It’s been going for a while and they haven’t replaced people because I guess, maybe you can’t. Roxie’s love interest… he’s well in his 50s. It’s interesting,” Cohen continued." www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/andy-cohen-shades-chicago-erika-jayne-broadway-musical.html/

How does Andy having to buy tickets mean Erica didn't get paid to do the show? Perhaps more importantly, how is the production getting around the union to not pay a performer in the show? Just because you find it on the internet does not mean it's true

Everything Andy says only backs up that people were there FOR Erika From the same article: “We went to go see Erika Jayne in Chicago,” Cohen said on his SiriusXM show. “That show has been open for 20-plus years, she’s packing them in dude. The place was full and they were there for her. I was so proud of her. And she’s playing Roxie which is one of the two leads.” In between his digs to the producers of Chicago, he continued to emphasize that Jayne “was great” and “her dancing was great” as well.
