Gone PG-13 2012 ‧ Thriller/Mystery ‧ 1h 35m
Over all I liked it, it was decent. Stupid scene where Jill runs a stop sign and is chased by police is totally unnecessary and not needed. What I didn't like was the ending as it kinda didn't make sense except maybe as a statement that once you are labeled a metal patient anything you do that is considered off makes you a candidate to be locked up. It could have been handed better. Outside of those two scenes not bad.

Hotel Artemis
R 2018 ‧ Action/Thriller ‧ 1h 33m
Better and more intriguing that I thought it would be. Some big names attached to what appears a low budget shoot'em up..

Is anyone watching The Man In The High Castle? Its hard to watch at times but riveting! I made it through all of the first season, and some of the second season. It got too depressing to watch. I plan to finish it at some point. It’s definitely a intriguing concept.

Terminator: Dark Fate R 2019 ‧ Action/Sci-fi ‧ 2h 8m
James Cameron states that Terminator: Dark Fate is the third movie after Terminator 2: Judgement Day and that the other movies after Judgement Day were an alternative future. Well I paid Amazon Prime 99 cents to rent this film and I want my money back. It is terrible, stupid, repetitive, and BORING. I hated that in the other franchise films they really didn't advance the story of John Connor and what happened to humanity and were repetitive and boring and at the end of those films you were basically back at the place the film started. As far as I am concerned movies 1 and 2 are it and let it go.

Finished season 5 of Bosch, just as excellent as the other seasons. I'm trying to save season 6 for a bit...but I miss Harry already. Also watched ZeroZeroZero, which was really well done. I don't care how much money they make, that lifestyle would be way too stressful for me.

I don't know why people get into that line of work as the money doesn't seem to be worth it with the cluster of crap that comes along with it.

We started CAPONE last night because I absolutely LOVE Tom Hardy ...... but oh my my ....... CAPONE was so bad we stopped watching about 45 minutes in ...... and we were trying hard to like it. Nope. www.imdb.com/title/tt6199572/ 4.7 from IMBd and 4.1 from Rotten Tomatoes. EEK. We decided on ZeroZeroZero ..... only 3 episodes in and it is VERY GOOD. www.imdb.com/title/tt8332438/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0 8.2

Eco Challenge - wished they had filmed it more documentary style like they did in 2002 and not go over and over and over some of the same teams. Still luv'ed it.
I use Roku to stream Amazon Prime and the quality I get from the stick this last couple of days is horrible.

I thought the first season of Jack Ryan was better. Season two was more predictible, but it was good also.

Season two of The Boys just started! "yay Amazon released the first three episodes yesterday and then will release one episode every Friday. I'm bummed I can't binge, but it'll be fun to have to wait a week too, since there's next to nothing on TV right now. Aya Cash as Stormfront is just SO great. I love her anyway, but this character is so over-the-top and a great foil (challenger) to Homelander.
The show is just as violent and non-PC as usual. There were several moments when I laughed out loud and then thought, "That's really horrible. I shouldn't be laughing."

I've started on The Boys also but whyyy is Amazon being so stingy with releasing episodes? One a week? Grr. I've gotten spoiled by binging on Netflix. Also - damn, I didn't see Stormfront going that route. And I have questions about Stormlander's son...

I agree Way! I was all excited to see season 2 was out, but only one episode a week.. so I made the choice to wait. I may start watching mid season, but not sure.

They tried to get me too.. but I didn't fall for it, them sneaky lil buzzards!!! I went and binged The Bold Type on Hulu instead. Now I need something else, cry. This working from home is really eating up my TV watching options in the pandemic. I cannot wait for TV to get back to normal.

Is anyone else having difficulty using the "enter" button? The side-side and up-down buttons work just fine, but the enter button when you want to open a movie is like a dead battery on my Roku remote control. Being a Roku remote, it works on all the other sites I open, but not Amazon Prime. WTF?

^^ It must just be quirky because it finally let me open a show. I went for the new one - Utopia - and made it into the middle of the third episode. What knocked me out was the over the top sadistic violence. It really could have been an interesting take on a warning placed within a comic book, but for me went off the rails.

It's a remake of a by far superior British drama that was cancelled a few years ago. I've been on the fence about watching it (partially because I loved the original so much) but Gillian Flynn is directing it so I'll give it a watch.

My daughter recommended the British comedy/drama Fleabag about a woman and her difficult family looking for love in all the wrong places. She breaks the 4th wall as an aside device. Funny and heart breaking. Olivia Colman as the passive aggressive evil stepmother. Only two seasons and there won’t be a third, so fairly quick watch.

I loved Fleabag. Everyone in it is a mess. Yes, and I meant to say that you need to give them a chance if you don’t like it at first. They grow on you and the second season shows a lot of growth.

That season finale of The Boys was crazy. I loved seeing a certain character get that beat down (and worse), and now we know who was exploding heads everywhere. Yikes. Nice set up for next season...

I actually liked watching the episodes week-by-week. So different from what we're used to streaming now. Every Friday, I had my date with The Boys and then watched the after show, which is excellent.
I still love Antony Starr better as Lucas Hood in Banshee, but then I don't think we're supposed to love Homelander. His final scene in the finale was so twisted. I loved it!

I finally finished watching the remake of Utopia and if I ignore everything about the original it's a good stand-alone series that takes departures from the original enough to be interesting, yet retains enough to not make purists like myself angry. While Arielflies is right at the fact that the first 3 episodes are violent the rest of the season the violence is implied rather than shown (in the original the violence IS shown but thanks to the cinematography which is really bright and hyper saturated like a comic book makes it look almost hyper-unrealistic). I will say that in today's climate of conspiracy theorists everywhere about Covid-19 this was a very bad year to release a show about a conspiracy relating to a virus. Sascha Lane makes a great Jessica Hyde and Christopher Denham plays Arby with the same soft, yet murderous intent that the original did. Desmond Borges (who I loved on "You're the Worst) also does a wonderful job as Wilson Wilson. This season ends on cliffhangers for many characters and I really hope that Amazon allows another season to resolve them. Overall, it's a decent watch but I encourage people to also watch the original (if only for the cinematography, which is next-level) because it really is an amazing series that was well before its time.

I've got Utopia on my list, hopefully I can watch sometime this month.
Truth Seekers was fun, it's a Nick Frost/Simon Pegg comedy-horror series (not scary at all) about a gang of part time ghost hunters. I enjoyed it.
Currently watching Wayne, about a teenaged Dirty Harry trying to get his dad's stolen car back. LOTS of cussing and a good bit of violence if that bothers you. But it does have a lot of sweet/thoughtful moments, too. I like it so far.
