I haven't seen a thread for Amazon Prime shows so feel free to comment on any good shows you have seen, besides the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, which has its own thread. I recently saw an 8 episode series called Modern Love. Each episode had different actors and the backdrop was NYC. It starred some heavyweights like Dev Patel, Anne Hathaway, Andy Garcia. It was really enjoyable.

most of the Amazon shows are talked about in the "Whatcha Binge Watching?" section, but I think giving them their own section is a good idea.

Same here I was thinking of starting one too, it makes sense to have a thread for one of the larger streaming services.
Late Night - great movie has a really nice feel and guess what? no super heroes, no fast car chases, no gratuitous nude or sex scenes.
Fast Color - horrible, so slow I ended up fast forwarding most of it.
Brittany Runs a Marathon - OK, still need to finish, however the heroine is so hard and nasty to all her friends that are just trying to support her, her self hate and loathing can be hard to take.

My daughter and I love the Expanse series... deep space adventure with great characters. We read the books, so have the general storyline straight to start with.

My daughter and I love the Eclipse series... deep space adventure with great characters. We read the books, so have the general storyline straight to start with. I tried searching on Amazon Prime looking for "Eclipse" and all I got were hits for one of the Twilight movies, and some documentaries about lunar and solar eclipses, do you maybe mean The Expanse?

I'm never sure whether I'm watching Amazon Prime or Netflix. I just look at the rows of shows 'till I find a series that looks interesting to me.

Undone adult cartoon series - After Alma nearly dies in a car accident, she finds that she has a new relationship with time and tries to find out the truth about her father's death. I only watched because of the great reviews but unfortunately I did not like it at all. Modern Love Series - I liked 4 out of the 8 stories. Movies: The Only Living Boy in New York - Wouldn't watch again. Bottom of the 9th- Bad and slow. Midsommar - A couple travel to Sweden to visit their friend's rural hometown for its fabled midsummer festival, but what begins as an idyllic retreat quickly devolves into an increasingly violent and bizarre competition at the hands of a pagan cult. It was too long and dragged out. If they had sped it up it could have been a decent slow burn horror if you like that sort of thing. Would i recommend it to a friend? No. Some Freaks- One-eyed Matt meets plus size Jill and falls in love. However, when Jill goes to college, she undergoes a major physical transformation that tests their relationship. It's a bit slow but the story is honest. Beach House- Emma's quiet beach retreat takes an unsettling turn with the arrival of an enigmatic artist out of her mother's past. He challenges, enthralls, and frightens her, as she comes to suspect him of a terrible crime. Low budget but kept me guessing and threw in one hell of a surprise ending. Brittany Runs a Marathon- A hard-partying woman motivated to lose weight takes up running to help her prepare for the NYC Marathon. This comedy is right up my alley! It had all the ingredients I love. Gloria Bell- A free-spirited divorcee soon finds herself thrust into an unexpected romance. Who doesn't love anything Julianne Moore does? I really needed to get into her bf Arnold's (John Turturro) head! Life Itself- College sweethearts Will and Abby fall in love, get married and prepare to bring their first child into the world when tragedy strikes. Wow this movie was more than I thought it was going to be. I really enjoyed it. Late Night- A late-night talk show host's world is turned upside down when she hires her first and only female staff writer. Mindy Kaling is cute. The movie is cute. Emma Thompson is still a star.

Making the Cut - the new fashion show with Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn. Not impressed only dropping an episode a week. Netflix's Next in Fashion was much better. It was the vibe I think.
Jumangi: The Next Level - too long, what really jumped at you was that Spencer's grandfather and his friend Milo where acted as if totally different characters when in Jumangi vs how they acted when they were not in the game.
Frozen II - Luv'ed it. Didnt' really think the first film was that great. Thought this one was much better.
One Child Nation - wow, documentary about China's One Child Policy and how they carried it out and how it fueled the orphanages and child who were not orphans being adopted overseas. The enforced abortions and sterilizations are a bit hard to take and it also shows how poor the rural areas still are in China.
Jack Ryan season 1 - compelling.
Jack Ryan season 2 - most times I can't stand the James Greer character.
The style of the series is good and they producers know how to tell a story that you get caught up in it. However, I can see that it might get repetitive as both plots felt similar. Jack needs to get over himself his Boy Scoutness can be annoying there needs to be a better balance between the Jack the Saint and James the Nasty.

Making the Cut with Heidi Klum + Tim Gunn: I think the show is great! And I'm really enjoying it! Loving Heidi and Tim, and in general, I love the level of fashion, professionalism, and class, especially in comparison to Fashion Runway. And most especially, so far there doesn't seem to be any cat fighting between the contestants, like in Fashion Runway. I am sick to death of all the fighting on so many of tv's reality shows! (That may add 'drama' to these shows, but it's the kind of drama that I can do without!)

FINALLY finished MRS. MAISEL.
We started S3 when it dropped but only got to 4 episodes.
I just love this series and the clothes and MIDGE.
Suzie, while I know she has received many awards for her role, I find her character rude and loud.
AND NOW SHE IS A GAMBLER.
I thought Midge did a great job opening for SHY at the APOLLO but watching that in 2020, it was ok. Back then, even though Reggie said to "talk about Shy and get personal" maybe 1960 was not ready for that opening.

Watched Blow the Man Down last night - pretty good! Fans of Fargo might like this one.
I might start in on Bosch soon, it's one of those series I've been wanting to watch but keep putting off...

I found it hilarious when she walked around the camp in the Catskills with the plunger so she could fit in as an employee and stay close to Midge for the summer. I love how the relationship/friendship between the two of them has grown.

I'm still enjoying this series, but so far I feel this Season is a bit of a letdown from the previous 2 seasons. Not nearly as many memorable moments, and what seems like a lot of filler. I still have 3 Episodes to go 'till the Season Finale, and hope it picks up a bit. Every show seems to have at least 1 season that drags a bit. I'm not about to throw in the towel however. Still a fun & quality show.

I was a bit bored with Sophie this season as well and her trying to pull of Broadway. HI sunnydayz ..... I absolutely loved Suzi in S1 .... that was hysterical her walking around the Catskills with that 'plunger' But now it's S3 and she so needs to tone it down. Wayyyyyy to many 'f' bombs by her like in every scene she is in she must say it 100x. IMHO Midge needs to find herself a NEW manager.

It's one of my favorite streaming series (and one of my favorite book series). Harry Bosch never disappoints and Titus Welliver is perfect in a role that was definitely a tricky part to cast. Harry Bosch is a complicated guy!

Oh thanks Critical I like his ex-wife. I love how she is an ex profiler and Harry still calls on her for advice on his different cases.

If you are a prime member and didn't have an hbo subscription, for a while you use to be able to watch full seasons of some of the older hbo shows... such as Oz, The Sopranos, and The wire at no extra cost, but not anymore. I assume the reason is cause of the new HBO Max that just started yesterday?

Sat down yesterday & watched the last 3 episodes of Mrs Maisel. This season was a bit of a letdown from the past 2 seasons, but it did pick up the last few episodes. Enough that I was disappointed that there weren't more episodes. I like Joel a lot better when he's on his own without Midge. They seem better as friends.
