We're all anxiously waiting for one to open in the town next to me, but they keep bumping the date back.
When it does open, I'll give it a week of two before going. I lived in Salt Lake when they opened the first one there, and it was wall-to-wall people for the first week or so. You could barely move.

If they'd only open one anywhere near me, I'd probably camp out in the vacant lot waiting for it.

I like the store here. If you are gluten free, they have a list of all of the gluten free foods they have. I like them better than Whole Foods, even though all of Trader Joe's isn't organic.

Recently I picked up a jackfruit curry dish from there which was great.

I've lived where there were Trader Joe's before, and I've really missed it. I'll have to see if they have that jackfruit curry dish. Sounds interesting.

I’m listening to an audio book in the car and wanted an excuse for a drive, so I took the long, winding road through beautiful scenery to Trader Joe’s. I hadn’t been in a while since it’s an hour away, and they had reorganized the whole store. I found some old favorites and tried some new items I’m excited to try. It really is a fun experience to shop there. ❤️

There's been more than one time when I've gotten there and discovered that they've stopped making some longtime favorite, but there's always some wonderful new thing to discover.

We finally have a date. They open on July 27th. Just 10 days away! I get organic watermelon and organic cherries. Each organic mini watermelon costs 3 dollars. One brand of one pound of organic cherries costs about $4.50.. The other brand of one pound of organic cherries costs about 6 dollars, (which is too expensive). I think the watermelon and cherry season is almost over. Fingers crossed that the cherries last at least another week. 😊

I', so sad about some of the things they discontinue. When Trader Joes first came to my city they had this wonderful blue cheese chicken wings dish that was delicious and alwsays sold out quickly, and they don't carry it anymore. They also stopped carrying the Swedish pancake balls as well. I miss both of those things.

It's the 28th, did you go Miss Griss? Not yet. I figured yesterday would be a zoo, but friends who went said it was crowded but not too bad (only five minutes or so to get through the checkout line). Since it's Saturday, today probably will be busy, so I think I'll go tomorrow. I live in Utah, and a lot of the Mormons don't believe in shopping on Sunday, so it's usually the best day to go. I can't wait to get my TJ's fix, but I'm going to wait for one more day and then

I'll have to get one of the first two kinds. I haven't had any cherries this summer, and I love them so much!
Thanks for the heads up!

I couldn't stand it, do here I am at TJ's 1/2 hour before closing. It doesn't look too busy. Wish me luck! I'm goin' in.
EDITED TO ADD:
Wow! In and out in 20 minutes with no wait to check out. Going this late was definitely a good move. Heading home with a couple of bags of goodies. Can't wait to see what I have, since I really just grabbed whatever looked interesting. 😊
I do know that I got sweet cherries and artichokes.

Yeah. They are full of surprises. Sometimes it's good. Sometimes not so much. There's been more than one time when I've gotten there and discovered that they've stopped making some longtime favorite, but there's always some wonderful new thing to discover. That's one of those bummer things you learn to deal with as a TJ's shopper, isn't it? I can list so many things I loved that are now gone. I was REALLY upset when they got rid of the Caribbean Fruit Floes, but then I found the identical juice bar at Whole Foods under their 365 brand. Honestly, if they aren't literally the same product, they're so similar it doesn't matter.
I was talking to an employee once about a product I loved being discontinued and he told me that sometimes it happens because the supplier just can't keep up with demand. He gave the example of the frozen microwaveable brown rice. It was supplied by a small-ish farm and they couldn't initially keep up with production demands and were going to be forced to go out of business. According to this guy, TJ's actually subsidized the business so they could expand and continue to produce the product, which was really popular (they kept selling out). Now TJ's has a bunch of different types of the frozen rice and it's awesome.
I still miss the shelf-stable vegetable rice biryani in those bags you could stand up in the microwave (some of the rice companies use the same types of bags). Of all the things I've loved over the years that they don't carry any more, that one was probably my favorite.

They were among my favorite thing when I lived by a TJs in Portland. I was planning to see if I could find them at this store, but I suspect they are long gone, since it's been years since I've seen one.

The best thing about those shelf stable pouch meals at TJ's was that they didn't taste like they were packed with preservatives. Maybe they were, but they didn't taste like they were. I really like Zatarain's rice mixes, but the shelf stable ones are horrible. The yellow rice, in particular, doesn't even taste like the boxed version.
The biryani was so good too - you got a nice-sized meal - and it was maybe $2. I still look for it from time-to-time. Wishful shopping.

Yeah. It's been a long time. There was also a really good creamed tuna one and some sort of curry as I recall. And you're right, Critical. They tasted like they were freshly made.

What did you get Miss Griss? Oops! I took a picture for you and then forgot to post it. Here's my haul. I haven't cooked the Beef Broccoli yet. I thought it was a pop in the microwave dish, but it turns out you have to actually cook it on a stove. LOL Hmm. I can't seem to insert a picture while posting from phone, so I'll post this and then add the picture from my computer.

OK, Kao . Here's the picture. (It turned out to be quite a production to get it here.) I can't get the stupid image insertion thing to work, so here's a link to the picture, which is really stupid to have to click on. Miss Griss's TJs Haul
My computer is misbehaving, so I can't type out the list right now, but the thing in the back that you might night be able to see is artichokes.

My computer is misbehaving, so I can't type out the list right now, but the thing in the back that you might night be able to see is artichokes. Cashews are one of my favorite foods. The beef broccoli and baby beets look tasty! How are the cherries? Trader Joe’s doesn’t have bulk items. I’d like to buy roasted organic cashews, organic lentils and organic rice. I once tried rice from Trader Joe’s that was partly cooked: it wasn’t good. The cherries are wonderful. I only have a handful left, and they'll be gone soon. The Thai Chili Lime cashews are my all-time favorite nuts, but I had forgotten that spicy things trigger my fibromyalgia, and I could barely move the next day after downing a bunch of them upon arriving home, so I sent them home with my nephew's kid who were helping with yard work, and they were ecstatic! I really like the baby beets. Yummy in salads.

That's too bad about the Thai Chili Lime cashews. Maybe you can have the Coconut covered cashews? They are sweet, not spicy.
