In the preview, I see two dragons flying around, and Dany is happy happy happy. There is suppose to be a betrayal coming up. I wonder who it is. Bronn? Either he kills Tyrion or Jaime (doubtful) or he turns on Cersei and sides with the brothers.
Where'd you see something about a betrayal? I saw a theory from some rando on reddit who thinks Tyrion will betray Dany (based on "clues" from the series), but I won't believe that until I see it.
So many of these theories flying around. so annoying. Missandei is a faceless man, Cercei wasn't pregnant at all, so on and so forth. Its exhausting. I chewed my nails to bits watching this last night. Especially after the scene with the Dothraki charging off, swords ablaze...only to watch those flames wink out, one by one. Sh*t, that was scary. That was sad to watch. I freaked out. I hope this is explained in the next episode.

Lena Headey on Jimmy Kimmel said she was the 12th one "to go." finish
So far Jorah, Lyanna, Ed, Knight King, Theon, Red Woman, Baric, Dothraki Leader = 8 dead
3 more go before Cersai. I would guess the Mountain, Varis, and Jaimie.
I guess we will see.

They may have shot out of order, and maybe shot all of the King’s Landing scenes at one time and the Winterfell stuff (and any other locations) together. We just don’t know. I’d guess Cersei will make it at least through the next episode. The penultimate episode is probably the one with some big deaths and the final one will wrap it all up, with a few more big deaths. I can’t imagine they’ll keep both Dany and Jon alive. I think (hope) she’ll be the one to go. I don’t think Varys will live - Melisandre told him he’d die in Westeros... although she didn’t say when, did she? I’d love to see Qyburn betray Cersei and just bail on her. I literally started crying last night during the opening credits. I was shaking through a lot of it. So much suspense and waiting for these last few hours of the show.

I agree with you all it was dark very dark .... hubby and I decided to watch it IN the dark ....... we found it a bit more easy to watch. (I generally hate watching TV in the dark). While I loved as well the SANSA and TYRION exchanges .... I also loved when ARYA was headed into battle and Sansa is headed to the crypt .... Arya hands a scared Sansa a dagger and says " stick them with the pointy end"!!! A tad bit of humor thrown into what is about to be totally INTENSE.

Just means she was the 12th to wrap her shooting shooting. D&D gave a speech to the cast members individually to thank them after they did their final scene and gave a gift after all their scenes were finished. (Super emotional everyone has said) Since shooting never goes in order, so her saying she was 12th doesn't mean anything in the big picture, this is a huge cast.

I watched it twice because it was too intense for me to process it the first time around... and it was WAY TOO dark. I also turned the lights off the 2nd time I watched it and it was a tad better. I was exhausted emotionally after watching it. Talk about building the suspense and heart stopping. Arya is a bad ass and deserves to be the only one who survives... But I keep trying to remind myself that there is more sadness coming, I just want to live in my unicorn rainbow world and everyone that is awesome survives... oh well. I LOVED the scenes with Tyrion and Sansa. LOVE LOVE LOVE. Glad that Theon got to go out as a hero. His character went THROUGH it during the show. I feel like I need a spa treatment and sugar after watching this episode.

I found a great story about why it was so dark this episode.. I am not sure I can share it however, it was on my Vanity Fair subscription. here is the link, I hope it works: Was That Game of Thrones Battle Literally Too Dark? And yes Critical that is who I was thinking too.
Huff post also had some great "obits" for the main characters that bit the big icy one..

I was watching on my iPad with head phones. I moved to a dark room and didn’t have any trouble seeing. During carnage scenes I kept the screen angled a little away from me and flipped through a magazine of cast iron skillet recipes. Any time it returned to actual storytelling I paid attention, rewinding a little if I missed something. I watched the ending twice. Reddit mostly hated the whole episode, which confused me. They mostly thought it all resolved too quickly and Jon should have killed the Night King. I disagree on both counts.

Yes, I have heard both of those complaints. For the Jon thing: this show (and book series) has always subverted things, killing off putative heroes, turning happy events deadly etc. Everyone expected it to Jon to kill the Night King so the fact it wasn’t is in keeping with the show’s history. And Arya has trained as an assassin since season whatever, and a fighter since season one...she’s quick and quiet and deadly. Her being the killer makes sense. It is not like Sansa struck the blow. For the second complaint...The thing is, the night king storyline isn’t the whole purpose of the show. There is also, I don’t know, something about a game of thrones... They need time to resolve who is going to sit on the iron throne (or even determine if there will be an iron throne and a united Westeros in the end).

HI GutmutterYes, like I stated above we found shutting the lights off totally helpful. I usually do not like sitting in the dark to watch TV but I actually find it makes watching GOT much easier. And anything delish among the "cast iron skillet recipes"? I read several sites that said The Long Night was mediocre.....what....? I totally disagree.

My husband watches GOT, and I was surprised at just how little we could see on our TV in our darkened room Sun night. I haven't commented here, since I'm not a fan, but I saw this article that explains why some viewers saw basically a black screen. I just did my own on-demand test, and it is still dark, but not black as it was for us Sun night, and our room is very light now in the afternoon. Link: USA TODAY: 'Thrones' cinematographer responds to backlash . . . www.usatoday.com/story/life/tv/2019/04/29/game-of-thrones-the-long-night-too-dark-cinematography-battle-of-winterfell/3614184002/"Even viewers who don't mess with their TV settings are likely to see better video quality the second time around since there's less demand on your cable or internet service provider, who compressed the living daylights out of the show to make sure everyone who wanted to watch it live could. (That's the pixelization or blistery effect that was evident Sunday night.)"

Aha! I watched it Monday. Interesting! Momrek - lots of exciting recipes! Taste of Home Cast Iron. I got it at Walmart, I think. One was for egg roll filling. I’ll post it in the food thread if I like it.

I'm the person who ALWAYS watches GOT with all the lights off! It's like my weekly "movie" night. I turn off my cell, turn off all the lights and settle in with a drink and snacks. I will say that when I watched the episode at 6pm my time, it was the feed that wasn't in HD. Not so easy to see all of the action. When I watched it later in HD, it was much better. Still, part of the point of the darkness was to convey the confusion that was happening for the characters. There was so much going on and the only light came from the fire and candles...and the moon, until the Night King blocked it out. As for "spoilers," I don't believe most of what I read. I will say that, based on an interview with Sophie Turner about what she kept from the set, I think Sansa stays at Winterfell. One of the things she kept was a scroll with a major spoiler from the end of the season on it. I don't think Sansa would have received one if she'd gone to King's Landing, so it came to her via raven, probably at Winterfell. Not that huge a spoiler, since I don't think many of us figured Sansa would be headed off to fight Cersei (although I'd love to see her stand up to Cersei NOW). Maybe she stays to serve as the Lady of Winterfell, along with Bran

Arya alway had a death list. She was perfect for killing the Knight King.
Everyone was a hero last episode....loved it
I want to see Jaimie's big big redemption soon.

And while the Night King was never on it, Cersei has always been #1! I wouldn't hate it if Jaime or Tyrion did the deed, but I'd sort of love it if Arya took her out, Faceless Man-style like she did with Walder Frey. While the brothers might still have an ounce of feeling for her that could work in her favor, Arya is steely and just HATES Cersei. She wouldn't hesistate or give Cersei an opportunity to gain the upper hand.
For anyone who's interested, Sophie Turner was on Dr. Phil's podcast, "Phil in the Blanks," a few weeks ago. She talked about her struggle with depression and interests outside of acting (and a little bit about acting too). I'm not really a Dr. Phil fan, but I love Sophie and enjoyed the interview.

Yes. I have been pondering that. Arya had more punch than Jon in Killing the Night King because she has never been killed before and she was a surprise. I want to see dire wolve bowl. There must be some good thing they can do. GG R Martin pretty much said he was going to use them for some ending thing. I want to see the Arya R E S P E C T.......And Dany looks so happy. She has resolved whatever in her mind. Arya never wanted to be a lady in a castle. It would be weird if she ended up being the queen.

I want to believe we'll see Nymeria and Ghost together again (since they're the only two left of the Stark dire wolves), but I'm not holding my breath. I know the showrunners have said in the past that it's difficult to make them look realistic and as big as they need to be - fur is tougher to CGI than scales. Much cheaper on the page than on the TV screen! I've watched episode 3 about 6 times now and it gets better with each viewing. Kudos to Ramin Djawadi for the incredible music! The music at the end was perfect - nice callback to "The Winds of Winter" (when Cersei blew up the Sept of Baelor). I like that it's not the obvious choice. In other GOT news, Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas were married in Vegas by an Elvis impersonator last night: www.tmz.com/2019/05/02/joe-jonas-and-sophie-turner-get-married-las-vegas-elvis/Emilia Clarke was on Kimmel last night and she said that episode 5 is "even bigger." So, that likely means the big battle with Cersei (or most of it, anyway) has got to be in episode 5. Episode 4 is probably the aftermath at Winterfell and planning for the trip to King's Landing, as well as checking on on the Evil Twins at King's Landing.

I saw that story the other day, Miss Griss. ITA, so sweet! I was sad, though, that she didn't make it a few more weeks to see how it all ended FireWoman , I wonder if Maisie will be in the wedding. In the Dr. Phil podcast, Sophie talked about when her depression came on (at about age 17) and how she really did nothing but go to work and then go home and stay in bed eating and doing nothing. The only person with her was Maisie because they were going through the same thing. From what she said, it was a pretty unhealthy dynamic. At one point, Dr. Phil asked her if she had genuine good friends and she named a few. She didn't name Maisie. I wonder if they're not quite as close as they once were That kind of thing happens when you're young. You're SUPER close as teens and then, as you move apart physically, like going away to college (or in this case, your highly successful TV show ends ), you just drift away from each other a bit. I hope that's all not the case, but it does happen.

I watched episode 3 twice yesterday (maybe 6 in total).
The first time, the piano music was in my ears and I was panicked. At the time I did think how amazing the music was. Yesterday, I could see the Knight King music starts when Tyrion kisses Sansa's hand. It is amazing how all that is orchestrated.
They are going to have a song for Cersai's end. I wonder what they will call it. And I wonder what the song will be like.
Each one of the shows coming up are longer than an hour.

I can understand the unhealthiness of the situation, but just because someone is in the same boat as you and can understand because of their own feelings I don't think would cause the relationship they did have to break asunder. Maybe it is that she feels Maisie is more family than friend at this point.

Dan and Dave were on Jimmy Kimmel. Jimmy asked them some questions. * Does someone take the iron throne? They said possibly * Jimmy asked does Aquaman show up in the final season? They said possibly
If Aquaman showed up, Dani would be dead.

Whatever else they said that wasn't a confirmation is going to be misconstrued. They could have said, "No comment" and people would still think that meant something. At this point, they're not giving anything away.
