I think they’re doing just fine. All of these stories came after they were on Dear Shandy (Sharleen Joynt’s podcast with her husband Andy). They seem very happy together, but one of the questions Sharleen asked was what’s the biggest misconception people have about you, and the answer was that people think they are living in the same place. They explained that it’s not a trivial thing to sell two houses and find a new place and they are taking their time figuring it out. Shortly thereafter, there started bring all of these “sources say” stories about them living apart. If there was one thing I learned from the sluethers on FoRT was watch the feet. Sometimes where there is smoke there is fire. Will just have to wait and see.

Maybe there’s smoke, nennie, but the impression I have is that various news sources are all quoting each other makings big todo based on an uncited podcast conversation where Gerry and Teresa were comfortably upfront about their living situation.

I find it odd at their age and him going on the show to find love that they would live apart in separate states until they decide where they are going to live together.

I totally agree with you, nennie. I read an online article about Gerry and Teresa still not decided where to live. My first thought was..What? Two grown older adults supposedly in love and happy shouldn't be taking this long to decide where to spend together, wherever that is. One, usually gives in. JMO.

For all the talk about getting married quickly because they didn't want to waste any time at their age, they certainly are taking a long time to actually live together.
I think it's one of the issues of this franchise. They bring together people from all over the country to find love, but generally, people have built a life wherever they live. Even if they don't have kids and grand kids like Gerry and Theresa, they have a job and friends, maybe family in the area. It's hard to just pack up and leave all of that. It's one of the things Married at First Sight and Love is Blind have going for them - each season is in a certain city/metro area. At least that's one thing they don't usually have to work out.

Just saw the announcement that they are divorcing. That was fast!

That was quick. Seems their living arrangement was the reason.

I thought they were a good match, but they married too fast without really getting to know each other in the "real" world. They also didn't work out the details about after the ceremony!

Welp, looks like you all were right. There was fire behind all the “smoke.” Wishing them both all the best in this high-pressure situation.

That was quick. Seems their living arrangement was the reason. Just like some of the younger ones on bachelor and bachelorette, they didn't know one another very well. I'm not surprised by it.

When all the glamour of "reality" tv clears, real life is very different. Exactly. I gave up watching the bachelor/ bacherlotte , it's no longer entertaining for me. I hope this one would be different, it wasn't. If they do another golden one, I'll give that a miss. I didn't particularly like Theresa, I do wonder how the other women feel now.

The first three months of bending your wills to each other in the spirit of compromise are challenging (at any age). She is still actively employed and he is retired. Each stuck in their ways and wanting to be close to family. I doubted it would last long, but this marriage was shorter than I thought.

Well shoot, I had hoped this one would stick. I guess neither wanted to move from where they live now? , They were probably very set in their ways. They like living near their children and grandchildren. And they didn't think of this BEFORE they got married? C'mon, they had to have known this before now. I have a feeling the show pushed a quick marriage in order to have a "success" outcome. Throw enough money at them & hope their brains go out the window. And they did. To me, one of the first things they should have decided, long before any wedding, is where they were going to live. They knew full well that they lived in different places. That shouldn't have been any surprise. Didn't they talk about this during the show? Off camera? At this age you'd think they'd both be much more aware than this. Personally this would have been right at the front of my mind at all times even before the proposal. Homework, people, do your homework. It's not that hard to figure out where someone lives & if they are willing to move. I'm not going to waste any more time on these two stupid people. Time to chuck it behind us & move on to the next show.

I never thought they were a good match either. It was clear they were both very tied to where they lived. I didn’t see how either of them would be willing to relocate. It’s one of the reasons I felt Leslie was a better match for him. If you really don’t want to relocate, don’t go on a dating show with people from all over the country. If you do that though, make sure you prioritize the people who are willing to move (IIRC, Leslie made it clear that she’d move).

Well, the good news is that they had a pre-nup, so I doubt he's getting any of her money.
