It's obvious at this point something happened this season but everyone has to dance around it. As Evan said on a recent post "NDAs are forever" plus he and Keith have their new show that's set in New Orleans coming soon. While he's not going to say anything to stop his bread and butter both he and Sara have indicated there were issues this season. On the other hand, I can understand why Paige was mad because if everyone was told that the roof areas were off-limits why were the twins allowed to install the solar panels in the first place? Reading between the lines it seems like some drama went down with Paige/the twins/Evan, and Mitch and Keith chose not to get involved. Sara might just be a bystander but based on what she's written on Evan's SM (plus liking shady posts about how the twins shouldn't have won, our passive-aggressive Queen! ) she's firmly on Evan's side. Except for commenting on Evan's SM the twins seem to be smartly keeping a low profile because their win was really polarizing and people are literally fighting on Lyndsey's Instagram about it. I can understand being upset over who won. I can understand complaining about it on different blogs/message boards like we are doing here. I don't understand people who make a point of going directly to someone's social media to tell them that they suck and that someone else should have won. What's the profit in saying such things to a stranger and making them feel terrible?

What's the profit in saying such things to a stranger and making them feel terrible? I don't mind making snarky comments here about shows as that is why fansites like this exist and it is kinda fun. The best thing about FORT and it's mods was how it taught me to not go overboard with any kind of hateful and venomous posts. Going on other people's social media and being nasty is NOT the thing to do it really doesn't accomplish anything.
However there has been some funky stuff going on since the Colorado season. Do people really need that many rooms? That many laundry rooms, saunas, cold plunges, outdoor showers etc... Why do the designers get dinged on somethings that other designers do not. Bryan and Sarah getting dinged for a fireplace "blocking" the view of the mountains when every single room has huge panoramic windows and you can see the mountains from every room, yet that same two sided fireplace gets a thumbs up from the next judge when they consider the outdoor spaces. Make that make sense.
In my humble opinion The Terrors were in last place the entire series. Keith & Evan showed huge improvement since their first season and I felt that first place should have gone to either Bryan and Sarah or Keith and Evan. I did think that B&S made sure each area was done and not neglected, mainly the dock area. I do agree with the Reddit posts that none of the docks had ladders or boat lifts and that P&M hammock was a waste. What made the entire season a total disaster was not showing the appraisers go through the properties and show what their numbers were. I know for many years electric companies don't want any competition for their consumer base and have lobbied to keep out solar power in Florida for years making it very expensive and complicated to do.
I am thrilled that the Reddit posters had the same reaction to P&M master bedroom and the platform for the bed. I hated it and do did the Reddit posters for the same reason. Falling and breaking or twisting something at night, or stubbing a toe trying to get into bed at night.

What made the entire season a total disaster was not showing the appraisers go through the properties and show what their numbers were. They need to decide whether this is a design show or a value added show. They want us to ooh and ahh over the designs, then they come in at the end with some mystery appraiser who checks a bunch of boxes and declares the "winner," and we never see those numbers. Never mind if that house had three stupid laundry rooms, a cold plunge far away from the spa, a dog wash on the third floor and a Golden Girls aesthetic...it had [jazz hands] ~solar panels~! I'd rather have a whole house generator. I keep checking to see if the houses have been listed, but don't see them yet...

Personally, I'm not mad at The Twins because they realized early on that this is a value added show and acted accordingly, as S&B did with the elevator and P&M did with the grocery lift. Solar panels on a home in an area known for inclement weather makes a lot of sense. I think everyone had great output and had things about their units I liked and disliked but the twins actually used color and their unit was somehow more "livable" than the others; while S&B did beautiful work on their unit it's a space that's lovely to look at but I wouldn't feel comfortable living in. Then again, the twins made some whack decisions including that dog shower on the third floor and the 3 laundry rooms (as a dog owner I immediately sighed and Jonathan owns two dogs so I knew he would ding them for that).
When this show first aired the houses were reasonably sized and people were judged primarily on design. Somewhere down the line the houses got bigger, more expensive, the designs less relatable, and it became more about what the house would appraise for and it's sad.

This show has out priced it's target audience.

I wish they'd back off on the overpriced mega houses and do something a bit more realistic and affordable (whatever that means in this market). Doesn't have to be a shack, but come on, HGTV.
And bring back some gardening/landscaping shows, for crying out loud. They've forgotten all about the 'G' in their name. With the price of food, lots of people are getting into growing their own veggies.

Totally agree with this. To me the solar paneling didn't make up enough for them to win. They are whiners and I quit watching their show because of their over inflated ego. Oh and the Twin Win phrase is old, time to retire it. Sad they have to act like this because they are decent designers.

Farmhouse Fixer started it's third season last week revisiting The Proctor House they had already done a renovation on. Some burst pipes in a downstairs bathroom leads to a renovation of said bathroom and the kitchen. Renovations on a property that is almost 400 years old is expensive. Also watching
Down Home Fab which is filmed in South Dakota. One reason I watch these shows is to get to know different regions of the country. In this case the couple is country glam with a touch of industrial and modern thrown in. The designer loves animal prints. Antelope carpet runners.
Restoring Galveston Season 6 on Magnolia. This one is interesting as the couple also has an ice cream shop, a hotel they just restored and are doing a wedding venue this season. They are building a real estate empire more on the lines of what is happening in HomeTown's Laurel, MS vs expanding too quickly like Mina did on Good Bones.
While I really liked Good Bones the family drama kinda on social media kinda killed it for me. Airing out your family drama on your personal podcast is not a good look. I think Mina expanded too fast too quick with that wedding venue with no parking (not a good idea) and that head quarters building and their cafe storefront.

I know exactly where that is and all I have to say is good luck in that area at that price point. Pedigree be damned, that property is going to sit on the market like a rock; it's incredibly overpriced for the area, and while there's a park nearby it's mostly a commercial/industrial area with no amenities. No one looking at properties at that level is going to buy that when they can get a comparable property in Lincoln Park/Bucktown/Wicker Park that's near a zoo, the lakefront, parks, bars and loads of restaurants.

Is anyone watching the new HGTV show called Small Town Potential? The host, Davina, is a realtor who also does home staging, and the premise of the show is for buyers to purchase a home and have Davina's partner, Chris, and Chris's dad, Don, do the renovations on the purchased home. Davina usually shows them 3 properties or so. The region is the Hudson Valley of NY, and since my son lives in the Hudson Valley, it's interesting to me.

I am, and I love it for a variety of reasons. Davina and her partner are great, and the Hudson Valley area is so pretty and diverse in people/housing stock. It does look lik an idea place to live. I admit I was on the fence because the first episode was kinda questionable, but they've done good work in all the other episodes.

My son attended college about 15 minutes away from where he now lives, so he's very familiar with the area. The town where Davina lives has a very diverse population and the housing is very, very old. In fact, Kingston was New York's first capital, before Albany. My son lives in a circa 1893 Victorian.

While the home is amazing does anyone want to live in a 2 bedroom residence in a commercial area? Are there any grocery stores, pharmacies, or gas stations nearby? I hope she has some really good security on the place and there is a police station nearby.

No, not really; while there's little "corner" stores along Diversey Avenue you would have to drive a mile or more to hit a major grocery store, and on top of that the area is really desolate after dark. The only plus I give it is there's good public transportation nearby. It's an amazing loft and amount of space but the buyer with 3.5 million dollars to burn will look elsewhere because quite frankly there's more attractive areas with parks/shopping/nightlife/constant foot traffic. You might not be able to find 7k square feet, but you can buy a LOT of nice; a comparable property in Bucktown that's 8k square feet will set you back 3.9M but you'll have a yard and you're near transportation, shopping, nightlife, parks, and the 606 Trail:

I have never been a fan of her designs.
