The Downton Abbey Exhibition has left New York, and is going to open in West Palm Beach, FL in November. It will be there for several months . . . including December.
And guess who is going to be in Florida in December? ME!!!! Mr. AZC has already agreed that we can add this to our "to-do" list while we're there.
Yayyyyy!

Should we use spoiler tags (when in doubt)????
Imelda Staunton is in the cast. In real life, she's married to Jim Carter (Mr. Carson).

Not for things that have been announced in news items -- so that one's okay.

And guess who is going to be in Florida in December? ME!!!! Mr. AZC has already agreed that we can add this to our "to-do" list while we're there. Yayyyyy! It is absolutely WONDERFUL. I saw it in New York when friends came in from Arizona. One suggestion: there is an option to purchase a program with headphones. I think it cost $8. However, that program gives you background for the show, costume designers, producers, etc. We thought that it would be further explanations of what we were looking at, as found in many museums.
So here we are, carrying around these larger than pocket-sized Android tablets, with oversized headphones which kept falling off our heads, giving us information, but NOT about what we were seeing.
We were so disappointed that we spoke with the manager and got our money back for them.
The senior rate saved us $2 from the price. The exhibit itself, though, was so wonderful that we are still talking about it.
ENJOY! Let me know how you liked it.

Well, "The Kitchen" is NO competition for Downton Abbey Movie in my books. "Little" sounds like something to watch after it leaves theaters, maybe. Whoo Hoo! Thank you Critical!!!!!

Well that was... dramatic! It's almost as if the house is going the be haunted this time. I guess if we freeze that frame toward the end, we'll get a preview of which characters are definitely going to be in it: No surprises there...we already knew Rose and Atticus weren't going to be in it.

They debuted a new 2-minute trailer at CinemaCon although I can't find it online yet. The movie will premiere in September.

Maybe it’ll be out in the next few days. That’s what happened with the new Joker movie trailer - it was shown at CinemaCon yesterday and released online today.

In an article I read www.yahoo.com/entertainment/downton-abbey-film-include-royal-visit-storyline-revealed-new-trailer-132921227.html Julian Fellowes didn't close the door on a follow-up movie, either, stating he didn't kill anyone off in this first one! Yay! Whilst fans excitedly wait for the film’s release, creator Julian Fellowes revealed that there could be a possibility of a second Downton Abbey film. Explaining that no cast members were killed off during the first movie, Fellowes told The Sun: “I haven’t killed off half the cast in a Coronation Street style crash so a follow-up is a definite possibility.”And it looks like the U.S. is due for a September 20th release, a week after the U.K. I can't wait!! So excited.

I love this show so much, I have such deep affection and affinity with the characters that I have decided they are all real. You won't convince me otherwise. I just started rewatching Downton for the 6th or time. I feel comforted by all of it. Even though there are some horrible parts. Downton has got me through some rough times over the last 1 9 years, especially the last four. It's my refuge. I cannot wait for the movie!. I already wrote one in my head lol But, I suspect this one will have a more professional touch.

I thought Maggie Smith wasn't going to be in the movie, that chronologically she wouldn't still be alive.

This movie isn't that long after the ending of Downton series, and Maggie Smith did say that but; I think she was exhausted from doing the series when she said that. By the time the movie was being seriously discussed, she was happy to return.
The children I believe are not all grown up, and initially when the movie was discussed; talk was that they would be older. But, I think that must have changed. Didn't I see 1927 mentioned somewhere as the time frame? So, that would make it still post WWI, but before WWII.

The series ended on New Year's Eve, ringing in 1926. The movie takes place sometime in 1927 so it's only a year later. Maggie Smith has said in a lot of interviews that she didn't think the Dowager Countess would still be alive at that point. According to Wikis that track the ages/birthdates of the characters based on what's in the scripts, the Dowager would be 85 in 1927 -- which is exactly what Smith turns in 2019, so I don't know what her problem is. My last Biltmore email said the exhibit was arriving there November 8, 2019 and would remain until April 7, 2020. So I am wondering are there multiple exhibits touring the country? We look forward to going. It should be wonderful.
