Is anyone watching CAMPING with Jennifer Garner? I caught just part of one episode and thought it was HORRIBLE. www.imdb.com/title/tt8002604/ Oh well looky here.....IMDb gives it a 4.4 I haven't seen the show, but I'm always rooting for Jennifer Garner! It makes me sad that her current show isn't good. She's such a delight, and deserves better!

I read that the show was created by Lena dunham, that might be one of the reasons why it isn't that funny.

Ugh! I posted about Camping under "Binge Watching" recently. I was excited to see a show with Juliette Lewis & Jennifer Garner, created by Lena Dunham (I loved the Girls series). But what a disappointment. This show sucks.
"Checking this thread out since I'm seeking new binge material. So far I have tried:
Camping (HBO) - Jennifer Garner, Juliette Lewis, dude that plays Toby on This is Us, etc. - great cast. So far all about a super-anal hypochondriac control freak (Garner) who sets up a camping trip for her husband's birthday. Invited are various friends and relatives from all walks of life. The only character I really like is Janicza Bravo, who just tells it like it is deadpan. The shows seems like you are watching something meant to be performed on stage rather than a TV show. It seems like someone's vanity project. How long can this show possibly continue? Will this camping trip ever end????"

Oh, I actually came over to post that I see there will be a new show on Bravo with Connie Britton:
"Dirty John
Connie Britton, Eric Bana, Julia Garner
(2018-)Debra Newell has a perfect life -- from the outside -- she's successful, beautiful and lives in Newport Beach, one of California's most desirable coastal cities. The only thing missing from her life is love, so when she meets the charismatic, handsome and charming Dr. John Meehan, she is swept off her feet in a whirlwind romance. Her daughters, Terra and Veronic, set out to prove that he's just a conman after they are displeased at the fast-tracked relationship and decide to investigate their mother's new beau for themselves. As Debra gets drawn deeper into his lies, the psychological manipulation has consequences for the entire family."

Yikes! The above description is almost true to life for a Newport Beach doctor and his girlfriend who were conning women to come to their residence then raping and/or killing them. Commercial Newport Beach seems to be mostly doctors and Fashion Island along with country clubs.

OT: When we first moved to California Brett decided we should live in Newport Beach. Mind you I knew NOTHING of NB or SoCAL for that matter. We last barely 2 years as Brett was prompted to a position in Carlsbad. Now Carlsbad.......LOVE LOVE LOVE. NB was sooooooooooo not us. I am not knocking NB for others who choose to live there but it was not our thing. Like for instance, we had a beautiful gym at our complex: "Newport Bluffs." I walked in to work out every morn looking sloppy as I knew I would be heading to the shower after my w/o. ALL the other ladies looked as they had come from the Salon with their hair pristine and their make-up amazing. My clothes were old baggy shorts and a t shirt 20 times to big for me. Their w/o outfits were $1000 designer clothes. I know that all sounds 'shallow' of me but they would all glance at me like "where did she come from?" I did not care back then to change....I still wore my same ole worn out w/o clothes from Target! When hubby was once again prompted back to the OC........we choose OTO and love love love it there!!!! So that is my NB story. Oh and yes Fashion Island is LOVELY. We do go often as hubby wears Brooks Brothers. My DIL loves Lululemon and my son loves Vineyard Vines (Xmas and Birthday shopping). Arielflies my MD's and my Dentist were at Fashion Island (medical buildings) and I did LOVE them!!!

The Rookie - I was excited to watch this series as I enjoyed Nathan Fillon's performance on Castle. The pilot was hard to watch as it really was not up to standard and I wondered if I should just drop the series. I taped and watched the episodes fast forwarding through many sections. Episode 7 The Ridealong was brilliant and I thought they got their act together finally. Then was the mid season finale, Time of Death. I am halfway through and thinking this is a good episode and very well directed.
