Just had to come back and say that I'm regretting my "bunny boiler" comment. That was unfair.
As I wrote in the main thread for this week, I just see this whole thing as being a really sad situation where a lot of miscommunication and some really unwise decisions on everyone's part made for a lot of hurt feelings for the women and a really bad look for Blake, who I think is probably a pretty good person who has made some bad choices.
I didn't watch Becca's season, so I wasn't very familiar with Blake, but even in this bad look, I can see the sensitivity and desire to communicate and make things right that made people like him in the first place. Not taking his side. Just saying I see the good in him. All three of them (Blake, Kristina, and Caelyn) seem to be in over their head in this situation, and letting the producers toy with them by creating all this drama in Paradise wasn't smart or good for any of them emotionally. Very sad!

Wow! Some serious drama happening tonight on Blake's Instagram. You can check it out there or on Reality Steve's Twitter. Bottom line, Blake says Caelyn lied about the nature of their relationship. He never ghosted her, he never asked her to stay quiet, and he published the texts to prove it. He's not sure if what she said got sliced and diced and maybe misrepresented. Very intense. Who to believe? Caelyn's looking a bit like a bunny boiler, but I guess we'll see. EDITED TO ADD: I guess people were really attacking Caelyn, so he deleted the texts, but they're still on RS's Twitter. Blakes Insta still has his post saying he knows he's behaved poorly and a story with video of him talking about it all. They were attacking her, because she isn't acting like an abused survivor. Like everyone acts the same . I do believe that when she was in bed with her, he was DM with other girls, because that sounds like something he would do. Every girl he has been on a date with or kissed, he knew before this show.. Maybe the show set him up? |

He did all the things he did, so that wasn't producer driven; but in his interview last week with Lauren Zima, Chris Harrison came right out and said that Blake's mistake was thinking that producers don't know what he's been up to. So in that sense, I totally think they set him up by bringing in the women he'd been involved with and ramping up Caelyn and Kristina's emotions around the whole thing. From their perspective it's good TV, and they get to "put an f-boy in his place," which is supposed to make the fans feel good. The people who were attacking Caelyn for not behaving how they think an abuse survivor would behave are unkind and uneducated and need to zip it! |

I don;t enjoy them doing what they did to Blake, hes what 29, hardly a child, but they get so fixated on being in the limelight. I dont know what Demi is up to, but she seems to play to the camera all the time I agree, but sadly, with social media and so many people following what's going on on spoiler sites and in people's Instagram accounts, the show is spilling over into real life and real life is becoming part of the show. Think about Hannah and Jed's story. If it weren't for social media and text records, the whole Haley story would have been a "he said, she said" thing that probably wouldn't have gotten much traction. (And I've been thinking about how the drama of that situation fit the show's purposes great. Most dramatic season ever! I wouldn't be at all surprised if the show worked with People to get the big press on the story rather than Reality Steve breaking it.) This thing with Blake and Caelyn is the same way. Anything for drama. In my opinion, anyone who goes on the show is selling their soul to the devil. Unless they are strong enough to walk away after their first show and resist making bachelor nation their life, the franchise will continue to use them as long as they have an interesting story and then chew them up and spit them out when they're done with them. Clearly, this whole thing has taken a great personal toll on both Blake and Caelyn outside of the show, but the producers got the dramatic TV they wanted and a lot of free press over the Instagram stuff, and they don't really seem to care what happens to the real people. |

No need for spoiler tags in the spoilers thread!  Clearly, the producers knew what they were doing with Demi's gf and had it all planned out to bring her on the show. I just feel sorry for Derek. Crummy for him to get cast aside. |

Apparently Demi and Tanner got into a Twitter dust-up last night after he tweeted during the show that he didn't see much difference between Demi and Jed when it comes to going on the show while in a serious relationship that was still happening when they came on the show. They went back and forth (as you can see in the story linked below), and he said that he had heard before the show even started shooting that she planned to bring on her girlfriend and get engaged on the show. People were defending her saying it's not the same, because she told Derek, but I'm kind of with Tanner. She knew how serious she was with the girl back home and still led Derek on and got him thinking there might be a future when she was basically using him to kill time till her girlfriend got there. Jed at least really did fall for Hannah even if came on under false pretenses and was stupid about how he handled things. I agree that what applies for one should apply to all, but I can see how & why Demi is being treated differently.
Demi is Production's preselected golden girl this season. She's been getting a lot of screen time since day 1, both for her supposed relationship with Derek (c'mon, we all know the show loves it's drama, real or scripted) and her commentary, which really is amusing.
TPTB knew & planned the whole thing with her & her girlfriend from the get go. They're trying to use the situation to attempt to prove the show is "modern" and "inclusive" by beating us over the head with it.
Personally I don't care one way or another. It all rings forced & phoney to me.

I just read that Kevin (just eliminated this week) is dating a dental hygienist now and is super happy. So, that's nice!

So the question I have is "Between talking to Kristina for quite a while and then making out with Caelyn, when did he have time to get all into Whitney. And if he was so into Whitney why was he getting so serious with Caelyn on their first date?"

Congrats to Kevin and Astrid on their engagement!
I love hearing about well-planned proposals that also aren't super over-the-top or showy. It was simple and sweet, with some nice touches. Plus, what a gorgeous pic with Toronto in the background! Oh, and the ring from the jeweler his gg grandfather founded? So perfect.
They seem like nice, normal (if not preternaturally attractive) people.

I think most people know he's going to Paradise this summer, and according to Reality Steve, he and Becca Kufrin were heavily involved during the last half of the season. Fortunately, she breaks up with him before the finale. The guy certainly knows how to turn on the charm.
He said that three couples made it to the overnights, and one got engaged, but he's still nailing down some details and will announce tomorrow who the couples are and who got engaged.

So here are the final couples according to Reality Steve:
Grocery Joe (Becca’s season) & Serena Pitt (Matt’s season) Not engaged but still dating, he thinks.
Kenny Braasch (the tattooed boy band manager from Clare/Tayshia’s season) & Mari Pepin (the beauty queen from Matt’s season) Engaged
Riley Christian (Clare/Tayshia’s season) & Maurissa Gunn (Peter’s season) Engaged
Other couples news:
Noah Erb broke up with Abigail Heringer before overnights happened and they both left single. This after being the most consistent couple thoughout the season.
Brendan Morais and Pieper James left the show before overnights as a couple.
Kendall Long had a tough time watching Joe’s relationship and ended up leaving the show. The last person she was involved with was Ivan Hall, who also ended up leaving.
There was a love triangle between Kenny, Mari, and Demi. Ultimately, Kenny chose Mari over Demi, but in the beginning he was going back and forth between them.
There were other temporary pairings, but these were the main ones.
Oh, one other thing. Thomas was with Tammy Lee from Matt's season in the beginning but dumped her for Becca (who came in after the first rose ceremony). I think he and Tammy gave each other roses in the first two ceremonies and then he gave his to Becca in the third one.

Wild thought, but I wonder if the Becca-Thomas BIP romance was a redemption story for him like when Nick Vial was on BIP, and they're positioning Thomas to be the first Latino bachelor.
From what I heard Becca was really defending him on her podcast this week.
I do think that Thomas had some issues but probably isn't nearly as bad as he was edited to look on The Bachelorette.
