All the above replies above say the word "sunny" - not here! We are still in a gray cold fog. Maybe tomorrow! I am so needy of blue sky and sun! Even cold sun!

It was -24 here today, but it warmed up to 2, now it's back down to -8. We had just enough snow to make the roads super slippery. I saw tons of cars in the ditch, accidents, spin-outs, etc. on my way home tonight.

I saw tons of cars in the ditch, accidents, spin-outs, etc. on my way home tonight. I'm glad you made it home okay. Are your water pipes still frozen? We don't get that cold of weather here very often but when it's coming, I let my kitchen or bathroom faucet drip a little bit and it keeps the pipes from freezing. We also make sure our plumbing has some insulation on it that is near the outdoors. I hope this helps you...

Thank you, Cootie! I usually leave the doors open under the kitchen sink and that helps, but not this time. So once I thawed them with my blow dryer, I now have all faucets dripping -- for about the next 4 days it looks like. Temps and wind chills are going to be crazy low Tues-Thursday, and tonight we're getting hammered with about a foot of snow. Ugh. I just HATE winter! |

Same old low 40's and gray skies here. Ughhh, I'm grateful we are not having freezing temps but at the same time it's like perpetual nighttime and it's been that way most of the last 3 weeks. I hope those of you in the super cold weather stay safe and have utilities, etc.

It's about -20 now with a wind chill of about -45.  By the end of the weekend, we'll have 40 and rain, over a 60 degree swing from our lowest temps! |

We saw blue sky today for the afternoon. It was wonderful! I live in a valley that gets fogged in for weeks at a time and it feels like nighttime all day. Rain is in our future...
