LOTS of cancellations today (aka Black Friday). Alas. Among shows given the axe were: Speechless Splitting Up Together Life in Pieces For the People The Passage Lethal Weapon The FixIIRC, 15 shows were canceled today alone. I'm disappointed about several on that list. NOT surprised about Lethal Weapon. That show had, from all accounts an absolutely toxic set, even after Clayne Crawford was fired. I guess it takes two to tango. Apparently Damon Wayons was no prize either.
I really enjoy For the People, Splitting Up Together and Life in Pieces (with that big cast of established actors, I can imagine paying them all was a HUGE expense). I thought The Fix was meant to be more of a short-run one-time series. I like it and I guess they could have continued it if the ratings were great, but it's definitely a self-contained unit.
We love 'For the people' , I thought it was smart and funny. Damn..I hate saying goodbye to Kate Littlejohn.. The Fix, I thought that was just one season,.

Oh, I just started watching For the People and liked it. They don't give new shows much time to build an audience, do they?

No word on that yet other than it is on shaky ground & not the hit they expected. The Rookie has been renewed. I’m happy about The Rookie being renewed. It’s really not that good but for Nathan Fillion (I’ll watch anything he’s in) and Richard T Jones.

NBC has renewed Blindspot for a 5th & final season. This surprises me but I guess they want a chance to wrap things up. Must be somebody besides me still watching.

This is its second season..I thought it was doing well..;( I just found it about a month ago. I thought it was the first season, which just goes to show how long it can take to find a show. I wish the big networks would take those shows that have decent but not great numbers, do less shows per season and turn them into summer shows.

After Fresh off the boat was renewed, actress Constance Wu posted that she was very upset that the show was renewed. She clarified that she was upset because she wanted to work on another project. Umm, ok. lol

^^^ Her reaction was pretty classless, IMO. She didn't present disappointment: she acted pissed off. Not a good look. Right in line, actually, with things I've read about her having a bad attitude and being pretty arrogant, unfortunately. Someone should explain to her about how many actors are unemployed and would love to have a steady gig. ANY steady gig, much less a network television series.

My three big cancellation disappointments are The Kids Are Alright, Fam, and Santa Clarita Diet.

Happy Together is only show I watch that got axed. Doesn't break my heart. It was just a throw away show that probably would have never been created but for Harry Styles from One Direction being one of the creators.

The Kids Are Alright was canceled too, which was basically the only new broadcast show I got hooked on this season. I'm so pissed. NOOOOOOOO! I LOVED that show! So funny and I love the take on an Irish Catholic upbringing in the '70s.

This Is Us has been renewed for 3 more years. Or 70 more years, depending on how you look at it.

This Is Us has declined so much in quality. I can't imagine how much worse it's going to get with three more seasons.
ABC just canceled Whiskey Cavalier. Kind of a bummer, but I guess the ratings just weren't there. Hopefully, this means Lauren Cohan will be heading back to The Walking Dead!

I have really enjoyed Whiskey Cavalier, it should have been given more of a chance to find an audience.

I was very disappointed that Splitting Up Together was cancelled. Not only did I love that show, but I LOVED what they'd set up to be the story for the next season with the main couple back together and his baby and her mother living in their garage. They were telling such a great story, and I'm sorry it's over. Never watched much of Fresh off the Boat, but as irritated as Constance Wu was that she had to give up a project to continue with it, it's a shame that the slot reserved for it couldn't go to Splitting instead!

Darn it..it's not worth watching cable anymore..

I'm so disappointed about Whiskey Cavalier. It's our new favorite show. My husband rarely watches TV and we almost always watch that the night it airs. It feels like it just started and they are canceling it way too quickly. I've been telling people about it, give it a chance for the audience to grow. I just got my mom watching it. We all love their banter. It reminds us of Leverage, which is always a good thing in my opinion.

Its a money maker so they will try to beat as much out of it as possible even as it gets bad, instead of letting it go with dignity. Look at Modern Family! Its no where near what it used to be.

Whiskey Cavalier, The Kids are Alright, Speechless (but to a lesser extent) and For the People are the reason for my big F You to ABC, wow what do they have that is worth watching at this point??? I started watching Schooled because I do love the Goldbergs, so happy they didn't axe them.. and sadly I feel the Rookie is on life support as it is now. That leaves me with American Housewife. I was semi-interested in the previews for Grand HOtel, but given their track records of the drama shows on ABC i like, it will be canceled soon after it starts too.

Part of the reason for the cancellation of Whiskey Cavalier was the cost of production. All the international filming was evidently a budget buster.

Empire has been cancelled. I can't say I was surprised to hear that but it makes me sad. The show was so good when it started. It will end after season 6.

Part of the reason for the cancellation of Whiskey Cavalier was the cost of production. All the international filming was evidently a budget buster. You would think that this would be a known issue when you pitch a show that is all over the globe?! But the ratings were subpar as well sadly. I watched for Scott Foley, love him, but ended up liking the other characters even more than his.. well I am not a Lauren Cohen fan but the others, even Ray, had enough about them to really endear the viewer. I was happy to see that WBTV is shopping it around so maybe we will see it somewhere else, but it is doubtful if budget reasons were one of the factors. I guess a few other shows I like got the axe too.. bugger! tvseriesfinale.com/tv-show/ending-or-cancelled-tv-shows-for-the-2018-19-season/and ending next season after their final season airs: tvseriesfinale.com/tv-show/ending-or-cancelled-tv-shows-for-the-2019-20-season/Empire wasn't mentioned, this may have happened after the lists were complied. But given the Jussie issues, it made sense in a way.. there was no way for them to mount a "Trust Tour" to save them on that front.

Empire is canceled by Fox: Sixth season will be the final one with 'no plan' for embattled Jussie Smollett to return Fox announced this week that the hit drama is being canceled after next season After scandal-ridden year, Smollett was effectively written off the show this year Fox negotiated an extension to his contract for a possible comeback in season six, though executives say they have no plans for that to happen now But several Empire actors have campaigned for Jussie's return to the show, including stars Taraji P Henson and Terrence Howard Smollett has made headlines this year after he allegedly staged a racist, hate crime against himself in Chicago The charges were later dropped after Smollett agreed to do community service and forfeit $10,000www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-7023639/Empire-1-season-Smolletts-future-unclear.html

They play off each other so well. I hope they find somewhere to go. We will tune in if we have the channel or if it's on Netflix or Prime. I don't like the new girlfriend but it seemed like they were implying she was the one who murdered the other girlfriend. I'd be okay if she went away too. (Sorry, no idea what the names are!)
