I am still loving the show. And love Connie Britton, but actually do also like the show just as well without her.
When Maddie moved into her own place, I found it not very plausible. If she is that scared to be alone, she would have continued to stay with Buck. Not to mention the rent costs in LA! Why leave a free place with your strong & manly firefighter brother to pay to live alone and be terrified?

Why leave a free place with your strong & manly firefighter brother to pay to live alone and be terrified? I do agree with you to some extent...when you're trying to run away from an abusive ex, it's not very safe to live alone, if I was in Maddie's situation, I would live with someone I know and trust, especially my brother or my parents, it's certainly safer than living alone. But that depends on how dangerous my ex is, the more dangerous he is the more I would feel inclined to live with other people and not be alone. But I remember Maddie said something along the lines that she wanted to be independent and self-sufficient, she didn't want to always rely on her brother for protection, which is also understandable, especially since she's the older sibling. I think it takes a lot of bravery and courage for a DV victim to live on her own, and in that sense I really respect Maddie as a character.

Just watched the Halloween episode. Boy, what a downer! Lots of people dying, putting a horse down. Super depressing.
Looks like Buck is going for the red-head newscaster. I don't like that storyline at all...

Just watched the Halloween episode. Boy, what a downer! Lots of people dying, putting a horse down. Super depressing. Looks like Buck is going for the red-head newscaster. I don't like that storyline at all... Well it's obvious Buck still has feelings for Abby and has been waiting for her to come back all this time hence why he's been living in her apartment, but in this week's ep it seems like he finally realised that it's time to move on, i t's really sad because clearly he's still in love with Abby, but he has to consider the possibility that she might not ever return, and he can't just wait for her forever...I'm really disappointed because I love Buck & Abby together! but it can't be helped if Connie doesn't want to come back. As for the female reporter, well considering how b*tchy and horrible and rude she was behaving towards Buck and his colleagues, I don't think he would want to have a relationship with her, I certainly hope not!

Yes, the reporter was horrible. BUT, he's not over Abby and don't you think the reporter looks just a little like Abby with her long red hair?! He may be overlooking her awful personality... The previews show him with his pants unzipped and make it look like he'll be going back to his old sex addict ways!

The previews show him with his pants unzipped and make it look like he'll be going back to his old sex addict ways! So I just watched a preview for the next ep and it does look like Buck is going to revert back to his old ways and hooking up with that female reporter, I'm so disappointed I will admit that the reporter did look a bit similar to Abby, maybe that's why he's attracted to her? Because she looks a bit like Abby? So I just watched a preview for the next ep and it looks like Buck might revert back to his old ways and hooking up with that b*tchy female reporter from last week's ep, I'm so disappointed, I really hope he doesn't revert back to his old immature and playboy sex addict ways again, one of the main reasons why I love the Buck & Abby's relationship so much is because of how much Abby has changed Buck as a person, ever since their relationship began with their first phone conversation together, he has changed, she has helped him to become a better person, he matured and became a more responsible and sensible person, he started of as being this immature, careless & reckless playboy to becoming a more mature & rational monogamous young man who was only committed to just Abby, she really kept him grounded and stable. If Buck were to go back to his old immature playboy ways just because Abby is gone, not only would that be a regression of his character, but I think it would also be an insult to Abby. Out of all the main characters, Buck has probably undergone the most character development and progression, and that is mainly due to his relationship with Abby. Buck knows that he has become a better person because of Abby, and he should not disrespect and dishonor her and their relationship by going back to his old ways, please don't go back to your old ways Buck! The writers would only be doing his character a disservice if they regress Buck

Okay, the horse scene had me in tears. Not happy about Buck and the rude reporter hooking up...I was really liking his character, I don't want them get lazy and just make him go back to the way he was. Boo. I guess we'll see how that plays out. There is such a glaring difference in talent when JLH is in the room with Angela Bassett.

If there's no nominations for Angela Bassett/Athena I'll be real disappointed.

The desire to not feel like a victim - she can't structure her entire life around avoiding the ex that she may not even see ever again (of course she will because this is a TV show, but she has no way of knowing that). Plus, she wants Buck to get dating again, and that'd be harder with her around.

Plus, she wants Buck to get dating again, and that'd be harder with her around. that actually makes a lot of sense...fortunately for me I have never been in an abusive relationship nor have I ever been a victim of DV, so I wouldn't be able to fully understand just how traumatic the experience is for victims of DV or how they would cope and behave after they've escaped an abusive relationship. But I would imagine that a lot of victims wouldn't want their whole lives to be defined by trauma and revolve their entire lives around their abuse and trying to escape their exes, I think many of them would want to work hard to try to move on with their lives so they can live a better life for themselves, and they would rather be seen as 'survivors' rather than "victims". And it's true these women who have been victims of DV and have survived their abuse are technically survivors too, I find the bravery and courage of these DV survivors so empowering. And I can see that Maddie is doing the same thing now, moving out and finding a place of her own so she can be independent, moving on with her life and concentrating on her new career instead of revolving her entire life around avoiding her ex, she is doing what other survivors I've seen do in her situation.

Yes! I'm glad Buck decided he didn't want to be "that guy" and the annoying reporter brushed him off. I sure didn't want to see that progress. Bobby and Athena, however...

another touching and interesting ep, seriously this show just gets better & better, I love Maddie & Chimney together, I think they make a very cute couple and are very compatible together, they both deserve happiness, consider me officially a 'Chaddie' shipper now! Argh I really didn't like Buck with that b*tchy female reporter, what was he thinking? For a while it was like the old immature playboy Buck was back but I'm glad it was just a temporary slip-up and at the end of the ep it seemed like he moved on with that woman from the earthquake, she seems much nicer than that reporter and I like her better with Buck, hopefully Buck can make things work with her instead. The story of that elderly gay couple was touching & emotional, at least they died together in the end And finally, I always enjoy watching the scenes with Bobby & Athena, they are really a lovely couple

great backstory for Hen this episode, she's always been 1 of my fav characters and she's a total badass! She's so strong and resilient and confident and stands up for herself, she and Athena are the definition of girl power! we need more strong and inspirational female characters like Hen and Athena in TV shows and movies!

Athena is fierce like the goddess of war she’s named after. I like that they gave a shoutout to the real firefighters in California at the end, also had no idea that “Buck” was really British.

As soon as I saw Brian Hallisay, JLH’s husband, playing the rando at the tree lot, I knew that was Maddie’s husband. They didn’t make that a surprise at all.
So happy for Athena and Bobby! I wonder if they’ll actually make it to the altar.

That flashback was chilling - we don't see the abuse, just him being "charming" afterwards.

another emotional ep this week, love the Bathena scenes as always and I'm glad she said yes to his proposal That scene with the marine watching his daughter sing and being reunited with his family was so touching I literally cried I love Chimney & Maddie together, they're so cute and sweet together I knew that guy was Maddie's abusive ex from the start, the guy was creepy and acting too "friendly" with Chimney then he stole his wallet now he knows where Chimney lives and is stalking him to get to Maddie. I'm really concerned for Chimney & Maddie's safety now, her ex is a nasty piece of work, I hope Chimney and Maddie will be ok!

It has been renewed for a third season, and I think I read that there's a spinoff in the works. I don't know how Buck didn't lose that leg (TV magic!), but I'm glad he didn't. He and Chimney are the two most abused characters on this show, I swear.
