I just started Harrow, an Australian series starring Ioan Gruffud on Hulu. There are 20 episodes (so far - not sure if it's been renewed), so that should keep me occupied for a while.

Looks interesting. I'll have to check it out. I need something to watch now that I'm through with Season 4 of Veronica Mars. (I gave up on going back and watching all of the original seasons. Too many episodes for me to do at the moment. I just watched the movie and the new episodes.)

I got my FireStick this weekend, and I am enjoying it.
I finished the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and I watched all of The Boys.
Season 2 of Mrs Maisel is laugh city! I did enjoy watching The Boys despite its political underpinnings.

Is Seth Rogen in that Boys show or is he just one of the producers? I've seen him in various movies, but I didn't find him funny in hardly anything.

I just finished season 1 of Harrow and thought I'd take a break for a day....and then I saw that Hulu doesn't have season 2 yet. Luckily, it drops on August 8th (I think), so I only have a few days to wait! Definitely on the series so far. I really love IG, so I was thrilled to see him in another role. No word on a season 3, but I haven't found anything saying it's been canceled, so I have my fingers crossed!
I watched The Boys the day it released and loved it! So subversive and bizarre and hilarious. Antony Starr as Homelander was THE BEST. I've been regularly re-bingeing Banshee because I miss him on my TV (and because that show freaking rocks), so I would have watched the show just for him. Looking forward to more weirdness in season 2!

Last Tango in Halifax - working my way through the 2nd season of this wonderful show. I started watching because of Nicola Walker (who I loved in Unforgotten.) The story is clever and the characters are real, dealing with the ups and downs of life. The elder mom and dad are completely adorable (at least most of the time.)

Last weekend, I watched all of season 1 of Big Little Lies, and now I'm up to episode 3 in the 2nd season. It's so good! The acting is fantastic too.

Euphoria on HBO - Follows the troubled life of 17-year-old Rue, a drug addict fresh from rehab with no plans to stay clean. LOVED this show. Most are new actors who did an amazing job. Each episode takes a look at their lives and struggles. The cinematography, writing, and music is perfect. My only negative was I hated the season finale. But we get a season two. Light as a Feather season 2 Hulu - BAD. Season one wasn't great but it sure wasn't as bad as this. It didn't expand on anything so it was repetitively boring. Grownish season 2 - Just as good as season one. It's funny, smart and has zero cheese factor for a young adult show. Divorce season 3 HBO - Final season. Same pace as the last two seasons which makes sense as to why it's canceled. The show has its moments but lacks reasons to keep watching. I Love You, Now Die: The Commonwealth v. Michelle Carter HBO documentary - Michelle Carter stands trial for sending aggressive texts to her boyfriend encouraging suicide before he was found dead by suicide in his car. Didn't learn anything that we already didn't know. Could have been 1 hour instead of 2. Share movie on HBO - A disturbing video leaked from a local high school throws a community into chaos and the national spotlight as it tries to unravel the story behind it. The plot makes it seem more intense than it was. Not a fan of the ending but it became expected the more the film went on.

I watched all of the first season of Wu Assassins yesterday. A combination of martial arts, superpowers, and beautiful shots of San Francisco. At points, the fight scenes went on a bit too long, but I ended up liking it overall. Plus, it's set in one of my favorite cities and it makes SF look gorgeous.

I am halfway with this show and liking it, but I feel the episodes drag a bit and could be 10 minutes shorter. The main character takes being silent and enigmatic to a whole other level that at times I really don't care about him at all. That is the problem, the editing or something makes it hard to connect with the characters. The one I feel the most for is the girl, Jenny who runs the restaurant.

Netflix - I watched all 10 episodes of Blown Away - the glass blowing competition. Glass as art has always fascinated me and it was wonderful to see how they make shapes and blend color. I wouldn't last 10 min in a hot shop but it was interesting to see how those who do it for a living handle the conditions.
The winning installation piece was magnificent.
Oh, and BB15 Nick Uhas was host. He did a really good job.

I devoured season 2 of Harrow in one go. SO GOOD! I really hope it comes back for another season. I really enjoy Australian crime dramas and this one has the added plus is Ioan Gruffudd! I can't believe it took me so long, but I started watching Mindhunter yesterday and am already on season 2! Not only is the main cast terrific, but they're casting really good actors to play all of the killers the team interviews. Funny that the guy in s2e4 also played the young Ned Stark on GOT! For the first few episodes, I was going crazy trying to figure out who Holt McCallany/Bill sounds like and then it hit me: he sounds like Jerry Orbach. I'm happy to see Jonathan Groff in a dramatic role. NOT a fan of Smith, the nepotism hire. Not only is he bad at his job, he's not a team player. I hope Jim Barney ends up on the team full time after this. I really like him.
Netflix seems to be canceling shows before they go too many seasons, but I hope we get at least one more, maybe one where we see the capture and interview by the team, of BTK.

Started watching season 3 of the show Slasher. It's been pretty bad so far. The first two seasons were a straight forward horror series. This season seems like some type of over the top dark comedy, cell phone obsession.

Six seasons of VEEP. (Season 7 isn't available in my library system yet.)
I really enjoyed it, but reading online episode recaps made me understand I missed out on a great many of the zingers. I have a hearing test scheduled.

The Rook, Starz - A woman wakes up with no memory of who she is and no way to explain why she is surrounded by dead bodies. She discovers she is a high-ranking official in a secret service agency for people with paranormal abilities. This had everything to make a great series but they needed to up the ante. I'd definitely stick around for season two either way. Sweetbitter season 2 - They better renew for season 3. Left us hanging again. Caitlin Fitzgerald was great as always. Animal Kingdom - This show can do no wrong in my book but I need more crazy heists like in season 1 and 2. Although I enjoyed Janine's backstory, it took away from each episode and made it obvious Ellen Barkin was going to be killed off. I hope they don't bring back Denis Leary. Queen of the South - Lots of people hated this season. Teresa has gone up against the most dangerous cartels, but yet she was controlled by some prick? I think the death of her godson will finally set her off to be a ruthless queen. Very happy to see James back. He wanted to take a season off. This way Up, Hulu - If you like Fleabag you will love this! Two sisters who are extremely close. One sister recently had a nervous breakdown and the other can't commit to her boyfriend. Hilarious!!

Body and Soul on Amazon Prime with Kristen Scott Thomas-- It's a six-episode story about a nun who needs to leave the convent temporarily to take care of her sister-in-law and the sister-in-law's chilren, after her brother, who was trying somewhat unsuccessfully to keep the family business afloat, has committed suicide. Both the sections about life in the monastery and life outside were very well conceived.

On Netflix:
Interesting, at times a some anime doesn't make sense story wise and can have weird endings that don't seem like endings. This story made sense, it had an ending, a premise that made sense and made me smile when it ended.

Cheers - I am a child of the 80's but can say I had never seen an episode. I watched all 11 seasons. I should have stopped after season 6. I much preferred Shelley Long vs Kirstie Alley. Although I have never been a big fan of Long (even though my guilty pleasure movie is Troop Beverly Hills and Money Pit) I thought she was perfect in the role of Diane. It was A LOT funnier than I thought it would be.
The Office - Love this show and had seen the first 6 seasons, but finally watched the remainder seasons. Ehhh. It was still funny but missed Steve Carell.
Black Spot - French crime show that is dubbed in English. Once you get past the HORRIBLE dubbing, not a bad crime show. 2 seasons. Police investigate a string of murders in this small town where the murder rate is significantly higher than the national average. Seriously, no idea why someone would live in this town with the amount of death. Very creepy and although I wasn't happy with the last episode of season two because it didn't explain what the hell happened... If there is a season three which i think there might be, I would definitely watch. If someone watches the last episode of season two and can explain to me what happened, I will make you my famous banana pudding and FEDEX it to you.
American Horror Story 1 thru 4 - Season one was fantastic, weird, funny, creepy, sick, demented etc. Season two made me uncomfortable but was still fantastic, weird, funny, creepy, sick, more demented. Season three I thought was the best since season one. Very funny, quirky, creepy, sick etc. Season four I thought had SO much potential and fell flat for me. I was watching with hubby and it was difficult for us to get thru some of the episodes because we found ourselves bored. But the highlight was Finn Wittrock as Dandy. He was HILARIOUS and awful. We started season five and only have gotten thru two episodes, not really feeling it but will come back around to finish it eventually.

Deep Water – ITV series – 3 women who are each struggling with moral and ethical dilemmas. Anna Friel has impressed me once again. One woman is with a man who gambles all their money so she enters into an arrangement for money with another man. A married woman has a one night tryst. Another woman’s daughter goes missing who also hides that her marriage is over. You would think that was enough drama but no episodes 4-6 through more at you. It was juicy good.
