If nothing else, the strike has been great for catching up on series or movies you missed! Over the last few weeks, I've watched all of Justified and all of the available episodes of the reboot. Over the weekend, I watched season one of Welcome to Wrexham, in anticipation of season 2 starting in a few weeks.
Now I'm watching Black Snow on AMC+. I love Aussie crime series and I LOVE Travis Fimmel. I knew he was Australian, but it still is weird to hear him speak in his actual accent after watching him on Vikings all those seasons.

I binged two Netflix shows this weekend, Painkiller, which was so sad and so disturbing and Down for Love about people with Down Syndrome dating (set in New Zealand. which was very uplifting.

Is Painkiller better/worse/any different than Dopesick that I watched on Hulu a couple of years ago?

I didn't see Dopesick so I can't compare. This hade a heavy emphasis on the pharmaceutical end of it.

So, I just started listening to the audiobook of Tara Westover's Educated. The narrator is Julia Whelan. That name sounded super familiar, so I googled her. It turns out that she played Sela Ward's eldest daughter on Once and Again, I show I LOVED about twenty years ago. It's not streaming anywhere, but then I found it on YouTube.
So, that's a long way of explaining how I fell down a rabbit hole of Once and Again episodes on YouTube ![:lol](//storage.proboards.com/6943657/images/kZvKcZukVaJcAqJidzda.gif)

The Continental on Peacock is fabulous except for one glaring mistake in casting. Thank goodness that person isn't playing a nice character.

Unfortunately, I only found a few episodes from season 1. Then a few season 2 episodes. It looks like most of season 3 is available on YouTube. I'm seriously considering buying all three seasons on DVD. Just watching the episodes I watched reminded me of how much I loved that show.....and how far we've fallen with TV dramas, especially on network TV.
I'm still so sad that the thirtysomething sequel series got binned over the pandemic. I was really looking forward to another Zwick and Herskovitz series. They'd even announced the cast ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png)
Oh, I also watched the first episode of relativity, another Z&H series, starring Kimberly Williams (pre-Paisley). I could only find the first episode. I'll bet I have it on VHS somewhere in my house, although no VCR. That was a great show too.

Border Patrol: Sweden. People LOVE to smuggle huge amounts of alcohol and bring in boatloads of meat and fish on flights. Considering the length of some of those flights I would be concerned with food poisoning! ![:rofl](//storage.proboards.com/6943657/images/AhCFSzWGQYvXzUAMXIlF.gif)

Currently binging Babylon Berlin before it leaves Netflix at the end of the month. It's a rewatch and still fabulous; I had forgotten how good it was. Due to Sky deciding to pull out of doing original content in Germany Netflix never got season 4 so I'll have to find it elsewhere.

Another distributor picked it up, and they're supposed to start shooting Season 5 later this year!

It's a weird binge, but I've been watching Evil Lives Here on max. It's something I can have on while doing other things. It's sort of infuriating because so many of these people ignored the warning signs. I'm not necessarily talking about parents with their children, but definitely women with the men they date/marry. I'm screaming at the TV, "Get away from this whacko!" I'm not talking about long relationships where the man slowly turns into an abuser or becomes abusive after they get married. I'm talking about first date/early dating and the guy pops off with something psycho or controlling and she says, "Well, I'm a person who likes the give someone a second chance." UGH.
In the episode I'm watching now, the young woman goes over to her new bf's house for dinner. His mom is making dinner and tells them what she's making and when it will be ready. He tells her he's not eating that (in more colorful language) and she needs to make him something edible. For me, that would be THE. END. But NO, she gave him another chance because she wants to be understanding. He ended up murdering a woman.
I think I should probably give it a rest with this show. I feel like it's making me unempathetic ![:lol](//storage.proboards.com/6943657/images/kZvKcZukVaJcAqJidzda.gif)

I was stuck in a Bridgerton loop for a few weeks there, so I broke out and am now re-watching The Ones Who Live. Both feature a couple that is in love and will have a happy ending, but otherwise, totally different.

I got sucked back into my Bridgerton-watching loop and was reminded of how freaking great Polly Walker is. I've just started a re-watch of Rome, one of my all-time favorite series. I'm sure seeing the late Ray Stevenson will make me cry, but it's such a great series. PW just steals every scene she's in. I was so disappointed when it got canceled.
I remember when the show was first airing, when we discussed upcoming events in the show thread on the old site, we used spoiler tags....for events that happened nearly 2000 years ago ![:lol](//storage.proboards.com/6943657/images/kZvKcZukVaJcAqJidzda.gif) Because some posters didn't know what happened ![:rofl](//storage.proboards.com/6943657/images/AhCFSzWGQYvXzUAMXIlF.gif)

We're on season 3 of Clarkson's Farm on Prime Video.
So fun to watch someone who has no idea what he's doing do stuff. Local characters (some of whom neither the viewer nor Jeremy Clarkson can understand when they speak). A hostile local council, a grumpy estate manager. And watching a city slicker trying to get around all the (ridiculous) rules.
