I found a bunch of episodes of First Dates Ireland on YouTube, so I've been binging those while I work in the studio. I loved the US series and wish they'd do another season.

Somebody make me stop! I don't know how many "Who Do You Think You Are?" episodes I've watched in the last couple of days, but it's barely a dent in the many that are out there. Oy!
Marianne Faithful's was very interesting! Her mother was half-Jewish and living in Austria during WWII. She was also a performer in Berlin before the war, so there was so much to discover about her that Marianne had never known.

I still have to go back and watch some episodes I missed. It's fun to watch episodes with people I don't even know. I've still never seen High Quarshie act in anything, but his episode is one of my favorites.
Back maybe ten years ago, there was a YouTube channel that was uploading all of the UK episodes and then it was gone. I was so excited to find that new one. I'd been watching a few of them where I could find them online, but I love being able to watch them on YouTube on my TV instead of on my laptop.

A few years ago, they were throwing in a UK one every once in a while on the US version, and Minnie Driver's was on that season. For some strange reason, though, it wasn't on the streaming version of the season, so I was thrilled to see it availale on YouTube. I don't remember if it was on his page or someone else's but it was pretty interesting.

Just binged-watched Downton Abbey---finally. What took me so long to get around to watching it, I have no idea. Loved it and didn't want it to end. From the time period, the characters, the story lines, those glorious outfits etc...was such an engaging series. Am actually rewatching it again, it was so good.

Happy to see you bsl! :hiya I sent out several emails to members via the old site and I know lots of members sent messages to others on their own, but we knew some of those messages wouldn't arrive. We had so little time to act - we got notice on Friday night and by the following Wednesday morning, the site was gone - but we did as much as we could. Glad to see you found us!
I'm finishing up season three of Deadwood so I can FINALLY watch Jack Ryan. Amazon's been advertising it for MONTHS. It seemed like August 31st would never get here! Love me some John Krasinski!

Most recent episode of Great British Baking Show that Netflix has available was released today. So we'll be spending the weekend wallowing in vicarious calories.

I finished Jack Ryan in one pop with a little break to make dinner. SO good! I know some people are fussing about how they've changed things - it's set in present day and John Krasinski is younger (duh) than Harrison Ford and Alec Baldwin, the two most popular portrayals of the character. I'd argue that it's just a reimagining of the Clancy characters. It's not like Tom Clancy is an untouchable part of the literary canon. Heck, if people can reimagine Shakespeare, everyone else should be fair game!
I thought JK was terrific and the show overall was well done. Great production values - it looked like a MOVIE - and terrific casting. I'm happy they've renewed it for a second season, although I'm NOT happy about waiting for a year to see it!
I just stumbled across Sisters on Netflix and I'm just starting episode 2. It's a fun, quirky Australian series.
I had planned to watch season two of Ozark first, but the preview for Sisters grabbed me. After the intensity of Jack Ryan, I needed something a little lighter.

Anybody have recommendations for Showtime shows I should binge on over the next six days? 😊

I just signed up for a free 7-day trial of the Showtime channel on Amazon. Anybody have recommendations for Showtime shows I should binge on over the next six days? 😊 My current favorite on Showtime is Billions. Great cast, great writing. Plus, only three seasons, so it's more manageable in a short amount of time. I'd also recommend at least the first few seasons of Homeland and The Affair. Both are terrific shows that were even better in those first few seasons.
I know a lot of people love Ray Donovan, but Jon Voight creeps me out, so I can't watch. It's also longer at 5 seasons.
If you've never seen Dexter, I'd HIGHLY recommend it, depending on how much gore you can take. It's oddly funny and Michael C. Hall is excellent. The first season of Masters of Sex was pretty great too.
So are you just setting aside the whole time to do nothing but watch or do you have to actually do other things too? It's funny how short a time a week becomes when there's SO MUCH you want to watch! I have the same problem when XFinity/Comcast does their free premium channel preview. I thought I was fine the last time because I get most of the premium channels (HBO, Showtime, Cinemax & Starz), but then I discovered one I didn't get and the race was on!

I LOVED Dexter and I'm not a gore person - I get queasy but I didn't mind it in Dexter, I think they cut away when it got too gross? (Get it? 'Cut'?). I also loved Masters of Sex. But never got to see the last season. I might just do a free trial to see what happened.
The 2nd Season of 'The Good Place' dropped so I am all in and getting ready to binge after doing all of my chores today!

Critical, thanks for the suggestions. I do have other things to do, so I won't be able to binge 24/7 or 24/5 now I guess we'll see how far I can get. With all those options, I'm not sure where to start.

I know how fast those weeks go by too. At the beginning, you feel like you have SO MUCH time to watch all sorts of things and then, before you know it, it's day 6 and you're scrambling! Once, I was watching a series (can't even remember which one - maybe Black Sails on Starz) during a free preview and I was literally doing the math to figure out if I could get all of the episodes in before the end of the week. I ff through all of the filler - "previously on" and the credits - and barely made it! I'm sure others would give you different recommendations. Currently, my favorite Showtime series is Billions. Just a terrific cast, great writing....just good storytelling. Plus, their addition of the first gender non-binary actor AND character to be a regular on a TV series is pretty darned cool and I LOVE the character.
I just blasted through a bunch of classes/episodes from that new website/network Bluprint, which finishes up a free preview on Comcast tomorrow. It's mostly lifestyle and crafting/art classes. I watched a bunch of metalsmithing classes, since that's my thing. Some of the classes I'm interested in weren't offered on Comcast, so I may do a free 7 day trial or even pay for a month of access just to get access to the other classes I'd like to watch.
I also finished Sisters and was really charmed by it. I didn't expect it to be quite as emotional and serious as it was at times, but it was really well done. I'm already looking forward to season two!
Not sure what's up next. I need to do some work in the studio, so I'm going to find something fun and light.

Watched all episodes of Sharp Objects. Well I'm officially creeped out. I don't really have anything to say about it other than very depressing and twists galore. Although I picked up on it fairly early on but still was uncomfortable to watch.

I just finished Netflix's Insatiable. I don't care what the critics say, I loved every hilariously dark, in-your-face, no-she/he-didn't moment of it! I could understand where some of the characters are coming from like some of the insecurities and so forth. And sometimes it's just so knock-out ridiculous, it rivals a ridiculous reality show!

I agree, Insatiable was hilarious. That ending caught me off guard! I need a season 2. Ozark season 2 was soooo good!! Laura Linney and Jason Bateman blew me away again. One shock after another. It has definitely made my list of top shows. The Innocents on Netflix was a quick binge. It's a supernatural series. The characters mostly got on my nerves so I didn't like it all that much. It was just something to fill time. Deadwind and The Forest on Netflix which were a Finnish and French crime drama. These kind of shows are what I live for. But I have to say I didn't love them as much as I hoped. But I am glad Netflix keeps them coming! My next binge is Power Season 5 which I am so damn excited for and Atypical on Netflix. Season 1 was cute and I love Michael Rapaport. Critical, Sisters is one I just added on Netflix. I will definitely check it out now. Thanks.

I was so pleasantly surprised by Sisters. I tend to like Aussie series, so I check all of them out when I see them on Netflix. That one was really special though, I thought. I'm really looking forward to season 2! I hope anyone who watches it on my recommendation enjoys it too!
Since the fall TV season is coming soon, I binged The Good Place again. I seriously love that weird, quirky, hilarious show.
I also watched season 2 of Iron Fist, which released Friday on Netflix. It's my least favorite of the Marvel series on Netflix, but I still wanted to watch. It still wasn't great (I fell asleep while watching the first episode and had to restart it), but they did work on some of the issues from season 1, although Finn Jones still lacks the charisma of the other Netflix Marvel series leads. I will say that the second half of the season was much better than the first and the last few episodes were better than ALL of them. I wish they'd been that consistently good all the way through. I thought Tom Pelphrey got so much more to do this season as Ward and he had some excellent scenes. IMO, he really is the best actor on the show. I hope he gets even more to do in season 3, if there is one. Frankly, he's probably too good for this show, but I really like the character.
Now I'm watching Million Pound Table on Netflix. It's sort of like Shark Tank for new restaurants. Each episode features two people / groups of people wanting to open a new restaurant. They each meet with investors and are given a pop-up restaurant to show what they can do and then the investors decide if they want to fund that business. I'm watching an episode right now and I'm really hungry. Probably not the smartest thing to be watching right now! Although they feature two separate restaurants, it's not a competition or anything. They can each get offers....or not.

Ah, the power of suggestion! Since giving suggestions to Miss Griss about Showtime series, I'd been thinking about re-watching Dexter. I hadn't watched since it first aired. I'm now nearing the end of season 3. I don't think I'll do the whole series - especially not those last few seasons, but I do want to watch through season 4. John Lithgow was such a great baddie.
Earlier in the week, I took a few days and watched Frontier with Jason Momoa on Netflix. Not great, but it got better as the series progressed.

Finished Season 4 of How to Get Away with Murder.
Netflix - Finished season 1 of The Dragon Prince - if you loved Avatar: The Last Airbender you will like this series some of the directors and writers from Avatar created this series. Only 9 episodes long but it was fun. Good for adults and kids. One of the characters at the very end reminded me a bit of Wendy Pini's Elfquest.

Had to work all day, so I'm watching RuPaul's Drag Race, since neither VH1 nor Logo bother to rerun it much at all.
I watched all of Season 5 (Jinkx Monsoon, Alaska, Detoxx) and now I'm a few episodes into s6 (Adore, Bianca del Rio, Courtney Act)

^^^ I'll bet you were celebrating that Emmy win tonight! I'm winding down on season 4 of Dexter and I think I'll move on to something else after this. The final four seasons were stinkers. I just read through little summaries on Wiki and remembered how disappointing those seasons were. Reading those brief write-ups was enough! Plus, the last really good Big Bad on the show was Arthur Mitchell (John Lithgow). Everyone after that was just "meh."
Since Godless just won a few Emmys, maybe I'll check that out next.
