Susie's gambling issue was giving me anxiety so I was bracing myself for a Midge/Susie showdown. So when the ending was Midge getting fired I was surprised and thought it was clever. Another great season!!

Another great season!! YAAAAAAK!!! Why did I read that? Not your fault. I should have waited to read this thread 'till I saw the whole season. Once it airs, I know it's fair game. My own fault.

Yeah... something tells me Midge & Susie won't be doing any traveling this season... although after last season's finale, they probably were going to be stuck back in NY for a while anyway.

Thank you for that. Just this morning I was watching Amazon Prime, or whatever it's on, and this show popped up on the list of suggested shows for me. I thought I was completely caught up on this & it got me wondering. Now I know.

It feels like forever since I watched the last season... I may have to rewatch all the past seasons to catch myself back up. Call the Rabbi, grab the brisket, and pour me some Manischewitz I feel a Maisel-thon coming up this weekend. Happy Hanukkah indeed!

As much as I love the 2 shows per week.. its bittersweet because it brings us that much closer to the end I hate that next season will be their last. I am already in mourning.

They had the table read for the final episode today... I guess they'll wrap up filming on season 5 in a few weeks.
No premiere date yet for season 5... probably around February 2023.

Excited and sad to see it go. Looking forward to final season, but they have become my friends now, and I'm sad to know they won't be around. I guess there is always episodes to re-watch. I wonder if the chocolate is bittersweet? Still, I am excited to see where "Midge" takes us!

Lights, camera, Midge! The final season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel premieres April 14 on Prime Video. One event closer to the end. I will so miss this cast and show. It was a once in a lifetime thing. I can't wait for the premier but will miss my Midge-ventures though when it ends

We watched episode 1. Took me a sec to recall everything, then I didn't want it to end. Not bingeing We have only seen S5 E1 and we were a bit underwhelmed. I hope it gets a better. The opening scene with Ester acting all hyper and screaming at her therapist. ugh ugh ugh I know this family screams a lot but there was an UNUSUAL amount of screaming between Joel and HIS FAMILY and then throw in Susie and her screaming.

There's a point in all Amy Sherman-Palladino shows where she gets too precious for her own good, so maybe Maisel is ending at just the right time.
I watched the first three eps, and I enjoyed them immensely. Not so much for where the story is going, but for the incredibly ambitious production values. They must be spending a fortune on every episode, because several of those NYC scenes were NOT CGI, but were real and dressed to look like the 1960's in a snowstorm.
I mean, that scene where Milo Ventimiglia is chasing Midge through the subway trains and platforms... that was an incredible achievement. That episode at least deserves some technical Emmys.
Even if the plot is going a little overboard, it's still a visually gorgeous show to watch and hear. And these actors, I mean... I'm going to see it through to the end.

I agree, logistically it was amazing! I do love seeing Milo whenever it is an option hehe. As for just simply wonderful scenes, I am partial to the airport one with Midge and Lenny.. alone in the hall. Oy, there was so much said with so few words.. and knowing that he dies only a few years after and she may not see him again.. knowing, not knowing, sigh. He even mentioned his daughter. Maybe I am just a big fan of Lenny but that few mins just struck me.

I enjoy the glimpse into the future in each episode, especially regarding her career. It is obvious by the number of marriages, appearances, etc., how she does. Her relationships and failures disclose a great deal on the cost of such a career in personal lives. (Loved the Bob Hope Tour clip.) It is a great series and I will miss it.... just as much as I am looking forward to each episode leading to the finale. I agree that subway scene was amazing, and I loved the cop who wanted so much to arrest him for something/anything, and then telling him that he was rooting for him at the end of the scene. Such a great series!

We just finished episode four, something just seems off. I still love all the characters, it's just not holding our attention as it did before. Not as funny as before perhaps, I really don't know.
