The Girl with A Pearl Earring. Very interesting movie about the famous painting & how it came about even if no one still knows who the actual girl was. It stars a very young Scarlett Johansson. There has to be more close up & reaction shots in this move than I have ever seen before, buit they add to the feel & don't distract. I give it a thumbs up. LOVED the book...the movie was just okay, IMO.

We watched Brightburn over the weekend. I enjoyed it. Very interesting take on the "friendly alien" mythos. I watched that this past weekend, too. It was better than I thought it would be! I hear they are talking about a sequel. I hope so, there were some interesting bits in the credits that tell me the story isn't done.

ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD.
While I am not a real QT fan........THIS movie was AWESOME!!!!!! AWESOME!!!!!!!!
Great cast.....DiCaprio and Pitt were outstanding!!!
Even though I was 15yo and living across the country in Boston when Sharon Tate was murdered I remembered hearing it on the News and then seeing that CREEP Mason.
OMG I so loved the way QT finished this film ....... I only wish it had happened the way he portrayed it.

I looked it up in Netflix DVD or DVD.com. The concept is intriguing, but I'm not sure as horror is not my thing. I like fantasy, scifi and adventure, but horror? Not so much.

Hmmm...I did like the original Omen, so maybe I'll give it a try. Its different than the Omen. No devil involved. Its a nice twisty anti-superhero.

Kidnap, with Halle Berry. It didn't get very good reviews, but I liked it. It was intense and hardly much filler.

I just finished Ready Player One. Speilberg does it again. It was as strange a movie as I have ever seen, but the effects were off the charts & what a tough movie it must have been to act in, almost nothing was in front of those folks, green screen is not always your friend.

The Mule with Clint Eastwood as a drug courier for the cartel. Not perfect, but pretty entertaining. Based on a true story. Also watched Jaws for probably the 200th time. I'll forever have a crush on Quint, and the part where he talks about the Indianapolis is one of my favorite scenes of all time.

I remember seeing it when I was 10 or 11 and crushing on Quint. I still love Robert Shaw.

A Quiet Place. I must admit I didn't feel one bit sorry for the brat at the beginning of the film. A quietly beautiful film that definitely showed off everyone's acting chops since so much had to be conveyed without speaking. I liked the fact that they found an actress who was actually deaf to be the daughter.

One of my all-time favorite movies and Robert Shaw has one of the greatest entrances in cinematic history! Those nails on the chalkboard in the middle of the town meeting? Classic.

IT Chapter 2 - Well we had about 30 min left and then the movie screen went black and we heard the tornado sirens. Up until then it was good, but LONG. Way too long. No clue how it ended as they couldn't restart it. Blah

Just got done watching Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2 on regular network TV. NBC I think. It was still as good as the first time I watched it. I realize that the entire Harry Potter series ran it's course & gave us an excellent ending with it all wrapped up, but I miss the excitement of the books & the entire series of movies. Watching the exceptional Alan Rickman as Snape made me sad that Alan's gone.

Two cable channels - USA and SyFy will run Harry Potter marathons now and then. SyFy had one last weekend. It's all under Universal, so I'm glad NBC has picked up the odd movie from the franchise as a Saturday night treat.

IT CHAPTER TWO 3 hour movie that could have easily been 2 1/2. I've never thought the IT movies were scary so this one was no different for me. Bill Skarsgard is so great as Pennywise that I needed more of him in the movie. Cause when he was creepy it was so good!! The kids were hilarious as always but adult jokes mostly fell flat for me. I also thought the way they defeated Pennywise was silly. Overall I thought it was good and definitely worth a watch. Intruder - A young married couple buys a beautiful house on several acres of land, only to find out that the man they bought it from refuses to let go of the property. This was basically a high budget Lifetime movie and I loved it. Dennis Quaid played crazy so good!!
