Season 39 Episode 10 - "Feeling Used" - December 20, 2023
This will be a male elimination and it will be interesting to see who the nominated person and house vote will be.
Let's face it Kyland is a target if he is not on the winning team.
To me the most important nomination is who will be the house vote? If James Lock is safe it opens up a lot of men to be targeted who thought they are absolutely safe in their US Alliance.
This is the point if the others don't get that they are just numbers and need to protect themselves then oh well. Can this bunch of misfits do what season of rookies vs vets could not do?

Ah...Melissa left Kyland a note...his comment "Oh, she spelled my name right". Kyland comments on the other showmances ...Moriah+James and Nurys+Horacio. Shocker ... Kyland+James+Corey+Ed are on the losing team and Kyland is nominated for The Arena.
Kyland talks to Zara and finds out that the vote for him was 7 to 1 with only Horacio backing him.
Only now are folks looking at Jay and Michele.
Berna? It's not a girls day yet she is blowing up. She wants to be her friend only. This is wack how she is behaving.
Corey is trying to put the focus on James or Ed.
Moriah is trying to save James.
But Berna ... what is wrong with her?

I give Moriah credit for going around and politicking to save James and she is telling him what to do to her support the ground work she laid.
So what does James do? "I'm not begging". The man has absolutely no political game. He is an idiot.
Ed on the other hand does go around. I do like when he states I am the type of guy if I say I am with you I am with you and I don't need to tell you all the time. But I guess he had to reassure the girls.
Corey's attitude irked me. But Corey's attitude always irks me.
It's James vs Ed, 7 to 2.

The Arena: Kyland & James vs Darrell The elimination is a giant floating disc with 6 braziers that have to be lite by a flamethrower. The Draw is Kyland. Kyland wins, the prize pot is safe, nothing has really changed in the house. However it sounds as if the Chaos segment might be over as TJ tells the cast to go change that they will be having another Challenge in one hour. Format change coming. Bit of a preview/mid-season trailer with new scenes shown.
The biggest take of the episode is Kyland and Horacio waking up to there being a core alliance. Seriously folks you have a cast of 24 people and are told on day one that there will be only ONE WINNER. JUST ONE. You have a huge alliance of 14 people who all think Jay and Michele are their number ones. At most 8 people will be in the final meaning 6 will be eliminated. Do the math people.
CT+Brad+Laurel+Cara Maria still have appearances as mercs.
I wish the women would wake up and realize that none of them can beat the men, except for James as his cardio sucks. At this point in the game only Zara, Horacio, and Olivia have been in a final. Zara could beat Horacio as she does not cave under pressure like he does.

News: it is unlikely that Berna or Turbo will be around for season 40 as they will be filming an All Stars Survivor Turkey.
The Official MTV Challenge podcast interviews Moriah. The girl is not as dumb as portrayed on the show. The strategy that we don't see is very interesting. If they showed half the stuff that Moriah said this would have be an outstanding show. BTW James was a total number for the US Alliance. This was a shocker.
Olivia was going around telling everyone it was OK to vote for Horacio because she would never beat him in a final. Ooooooooh. That would explain them not being friends anymore.
Kyland was flirting with Ravyn and several other girls in the house right after Melissa left the house.
Only person Moriah really did not like in the house was Colleen. Colleen would sneak around and sit in on conversations.

Berna’s meltdown was pretty weird. She came across like a junior high aged girl, jealous because her best friend is talking to others, instead of her.
More comments coming from the mercenary to Moriah regarding Bananas….seems a bit much.

More comments coming from the mercenary to Moriah regarding Bananas….seems a bit much. On the official podcast Moriah mentioned that Darrell said to her not to worry as Bananas didn't have the cleanest record in relationships. I found the podcast helpful as Moriah and Bananas never were officially boyfriend/girlfriend. However the cast would constantly bring it up to Moriah and there was even a song about it in the house.

Season 39 Episode 11 - "My Own Worst Frenemy" - December 27, 2023 Many in the cast are so nasty. Ravyn getting upset with Moriah by not saving her from elimination when there was a team of four deciding. One voice won't save you. Kyland and Horacio totally dissing Michele for being a social player as if that is something dirty and unethical. Asaf's confessional about Zara. Basically saying F U to her. I really never want to see this guy again. Asaf brings NOTHING to the game. Corey being a total ass in how he reacts to Ravyn when she calls him out for voting her into elimination. Then there is Berna getting upset again and blaming it on the girls complaining about her not that maybe there is something to complain about. Sorry there are some real mental issues there. I do not like the players who think this is just a athletic game, it makes for a boring season. Do I really think Ravyn and Zara can turn the house. Ha Ha Ha. Yeah, like that is going to happen. Luv'ed that James and Moriah were on the winning team and safe from elimination. The target swung onto Berna, Zara, and Colleen. Berna brings to much attention on herself. I am wondering if there will be any double eliminations in the future?
Disappointed in Laurel's performance.

Laurel should have done better. Didn’t seem like her intensity was there, but I guess I get that as just coming into the game for that one elimination. It was really hers for the taking if she wanted it, but didn’t seem to care that much. I did have to lol at Ravyn “beating a champion” when she had lots of help at the end there with others reading off the colors in order for her.

Did you notice that Michele was helping Laurel at one point.
Kaz & Darrell & Laurel are sort of giving the mercenaries a bad name as if they are very beatable.

Gossip Nurys and Olivia are feuding on Twitter - @nuryskmateo and @oliviakaiserxo Olivia supposed gave Emanuel a bj the first week on the challenge, and now Emanuel is embarrassed and wants nothing to do with her. To be honest that doesn't sound true as Emanuel does not look as if gets embarrassed and is on every girl in the house to get some. Kyland - after Melissa left was with Ravyn + Olivia + Colleen Ravyn and Olivia are feuding over Kyland. Seriously I don't know why they are not showing this or hinting at it ... this is the spice that makes a season.
per Nurys "So glad we’re finally half way through the season, THIS is when things finally start to get good 😈 fingers crossed the editing does all the drama justice cuz boy is there a lot that’s gonna go down #TheChallenge39"

Season 39 Episode 12 - "A Legend Returns" - January 3, 2024
Funny how the mid season trailer dropped last week and of course CT is heavily featured. With three mercenaries left to appear (CT, Brad, Cara Maria), I just assumed it would be a guy's week and the merc would be Brad. SHOCKER ... girl's week ... merc ... Cara Maria. That elimination had to be fake. It was SO Stupid. Cara Maria was so far ahead and got beat on a 16 block puzzle of a Celtic Knot? Michele beat Cara Maria. No way in Hell.
No one helped Cara? Why not Colleen? Why not Ravyn? Why not Kyland? Jay saying the old players are done and make way for the new champions! There is something seriously WRONG with this game.
So annoying that for three episodes no one has gone home.
Looking forward to seeing Brad and then CT in the next two weeks and please please please send someone home, preferably Asaf, Emanuel, or Corey.
Best Moment: Cara Maria calling out Michele and not bothering to find out her name just calling her Orange Shirt.
Best Moment: Cara Maria blocking Michele with a puzzle piece during elimination.

It’s getting a bit much not having anyone eliminated. I get that strong alliance members want to help the one in the elimination challenge beat the mercenary and return to the game, but c’mon people….an entire alliance isn’t going to win. People are gonna have to be eliminated and go home in order for the last few to get to the finale.
I agree with your two best moments Bearcata. Loved Cara Maria calling out “orange shirt,” and blocking Michelle with a puzzle piece. That is how you do it!

I’ve listened to a couple of podcasts after this latest episode, and RHAP describes the show as it stands now as Groundhog Day. Good analogy - same money, same people, same dynamics, over and over these last episodes when no one has been eliminated. We get a tease with a brief confessional, “if I come back from elimination, it’s gonna be war - I’m gonna flip the house” and then we get the same old same old. No one wants to rock the boat and nothing changes.

Loved Cara Maria calling out “orange shirt,” and blocking Michelle with a puzzle piece. That is how you do it! It is getting to be a bit much with no eliminations in the last 3 weeks. There are still 16 players in the game. I was so hoping for a Michele elimination just to see the results of breaking up the US Alliance. Regardless of Jay assuming much of the success of that group is "him", it is ALL Michele.
I am so waiting for the Kumbaya Bubble to burst.
Can't stand Asaf's confessionals. He is trying SO hard to be this mean dude and it looks so forced. But boy is he a snake. Then there is Emanuel. Really what has he done besides potentially pass along STD's to all the women and the guys they hook up with.
The Challenge has always been one with dramatic messy relationships plus the physical challenges and eliminations why are they not showing us the messy relationships?
Here's to hoping some of the guys get eliminated in the next two weeks with Brad and CT coming. It has been a total embarrassment with Laurel and Cara Maria losing to these wannabees. The newbies think they are the next generation and I more than happy to tell them they are not. I do have to give Michele kudos for being a great social player and being able to hold this group of people together.
I do wish we had the hopper this season to break up the one sided votes in deliberation.

Aneesa and Tori are horrible hosts, but have improved, the conversation is way better when Deyvn or Davonne are on the show.
Caffeine Confessionals (YouTube and Spotify) ... this one can be very negative but other podcasts are way worse ... I don't understand bashing a show so much if you hate it why are you watching ... however they recently changed their format for the better
Anglecake Entertainment (YouTube) ... Drew is a really good podcast host and he doesn't spew negative, he honestly tries to give a fair assessment of what happens ... does live stream occasionally and they are fun to participate
The Challenge Historian (YouTube and Spotify) just recently discovered this one, like it a lot, again the host is fair and not a negative nelly, he also responds to posts

Season 39 Episode 13 - "El Saboteur" - January 10, 2024
Horacio took the daily challenge loss hard. He takes all losses hard, but dude, doesn't he realize he was totally sabotaged? It's like he has no clue.
Jay, wow, the insane cocker spaniel comes out. He is this like this snappy mean little dog that has to ankle bite everyone in the house. It's mean and ugly and it is all ego driven and it is stupid to show.
James ... why are you telling Moriah anything?
This episode reminds me of so many Survivor episodes where you were so certain there would be a blindside and you are totally disappointed. Nurys and especially James are totally gutless in this game and Horacio is pretty useless too.
Brad looked great. Very lean vs All Stars 3 were he was huge.
Brad's Beard looked great always nice to see it again.
Brad's arms were absolutely gorgeous.
What happened? Brad lost 6 balls to 10 balls.
He had to stop and tie his shoe? OK I am going to say this but it looked as if he lost the elimination on purpose.

Another week and no one goes home and the confessionals show more of "it's time to flip the house" blah blah blah. Even Coleen doesn't stick to trying to flip the script. And they all welcome Kyland back into the house - "wow you did so well! Whoo hoo!" The format this season just seems like an overall fail. I much prefer the secret voting, the hopper changing things up, and having time to decide on who to put in (instead of the winning team only getting a couple minutes to decide.) Loved seeing Brad. So amazingly fit looking but then he moved at a snail's pace? What the heck??! Agree that the elimination challenge seemed completely suspect.

So amazingly fit looking but then he moved at a snail's pace? What the heck??! Agree that the elimination challenge seemed completely suspect. 1. Agree this season's format is a fail. I liked the hopper as it enabled some very interesting moves in the voting process. Let's face it the Vets in the USA 2 house were in serious trouble but that hopper saved their asses.
2. James told his honey pot what was happening with the power move and she told him not to do it, and he let Kyland and the team about it before the deliberation so Colleen then backed out. The final verdict was not a surprise.
3. Liked seeing Brad again and expected him to win. However he was way leaner then he had been on All Stars 3. It maybe that he was going through some kind of crisis and he had left weird posts on twitter that are now deleted. It was so bad and no one really knows what happened, but Tori his ex-wife reached out to him. They had a nasty breakup and words were exchanged on social media and they have not spoken in years. I have a feeling Brad beat himself up a lot as far as being successful and maybe life was not what he expected and he is not where he thought he would be financially. I am just speculating. But while I may not like his Challenge Character I hope he is OK in real life or at least doing better.
4. Looking forward to next week's mini final and CT's appearance and the end of the CHAOS phase of this challenge. Only 10 more episodes to go. It might be 9 episodes plus the reunion they are currently filming.

The thing that I noticed that as long as they keep to this team format and as long as there are US Alliance members on your team it is very hard to actually direct a nomination that you want. Next week's daily challenge will be a mini final but it will be done in four teams of four again making it very hard for non US Alliance people to make any power moves, especially when you have double agents like Emanuel and Asaf on your team.
I really hope there is a shift on the winning team so we can see someone besides Horacio or Kyland nominated or be the house vote.
I know CT is coming and will be the last mercenary and I so hope that he pulls Chaos and upsets the game.
I know Jay is worried about another alliance forming, that of Colleen+Ravyn+Zaza+Kyland+Horacio but they really do anything? Will adding Nurys to their number help them? Will this new alliance actually commit to a power move? James is a floater and with no cardio seen as easily beatable in a final will he commit or stay by his challenge wife's side?

I decided to watch episodes 9 thru 13 again. Production has a 4 day shooting schedule, one day for the challenge this includes travel to the challenge site and back and it takes time to reset a challenge if there are multiple teams, then they are the post challenge confessionals, one day for the night club and nominations and post confessionals, one day for the elimination and post confessionals, and one day off. So 5 episodes = 20 days = almost 3 weeks. Nothing has changed for 3 weeks.
I don't really care for the team format because even if you win and you want revenge you can't really get it if you are in the minority alliance on your team. In the week 13 house vote which was Jay 4 Emmanuel 1 Kyland 7 if James and Colleen has switched their votes it would have been Jay 6 Emmanuel 1 Kyland 5. That was annoying. Jay would have been in Kyland's place and in the elimination but he could have still won and come back. They need to get rid of the mercenaries and have players be eliminated.
There is a mini finale for this week's challenge but again it is in a team format and 4 players will be safe. Thankfully this week CT will be the Mercenary and he better win.

Season 39 Episode 14 - "Don't Let TJ Decide" - January 17, 2024
It is never a good thing to let TJ decide, this means that there is a tie. We will see.
Michele is so lying to Horacio (at the club) saying she does not know what the boys are doing when she has Asaf, Emanuel, Corey, all the girls telling her everything that is going on in the house and that she and Jay have been directing every move since day one.
Corey so smug stating that he is the New Generation of the Challenge.
I hope I never see Asaf or Corey on ever again. Certainly not as staples of the show as they add nothing.
So glad there was stalemate during the house vote and that Ed was smart enough to keep it a stalemate.
So glad Asaf was eliminated. So glad Jay is gutted.
This is where the game will get NASTY as Jay will go off the rails and this is why he can't win because he can't hold it together.
