FYI: Listened to the MTV Official Podcast with Asaf.
D&D are such good hosts but Asaf is dumb as f***.
He thinks he played this great social political game.
He was upset that Jay and Michele wouldn't let him go into eliminations because he wanted to and it would be fun.
He absolutely agrees that Nurys betrayed the alliance and Jay should target her.
Asaf does acknowledge that a Challenge Champion needs to be physical and good in math and puzzles and states that Horacio does not have that. D&D point out he does not either.
Asaf gave a list of this top people to win. Ravyn is on that list ... the one who can't do math and neither do any of his other picks.
Asaf also said that the elimination took 2 hours and I just don't believe that and even D&D questioned the time. CT ain't dumb he can do math.
Asaf also said that the reason CT did not pick Jay for the elimination was that CT was scared/afraid of Jay.
I will say Asaf cannot read people very well.

Finally someone is eliminated! It’s about time! I didn’t care who went at this point….somebody, anybody.
I also listened to D&D interview Asaf. He did not come across very well. D&D called him out a couple of times for his statements that didn’t match up. “I didn’t know anybody before coming into the house” and then in the next breath, “yeah we were good friends before we came in the house.” (I think he was talking about Corey at that point.) That’s just one of several examples. He contradicted himself on several occasions.
After hearing his interview, I’m even more puzzled by all the tears and sadness when he was eliminated. The only thing I can figure is that he must come across way different in person.
Yeah I don’t believe the challenge took two hours. No way.

The tears ??? I don't get it.
No way it took CT 2 hours to figure out that math.

The House Vote: The winning team: Kyland+James+Moriah+Michele - nominated Horacio for elimination. They cannot vote in the House Vote. House Vote: 1st Round: Stalemate Berna+Colleen+Corey+Emanuel+Jay+Asaf = Ed (6 votes) Ed+Horacio+Nurys+Olivia+ravyn+Zara = Emanuel (6 votes) 2ne Round: Stalemate Corey = Corey (1 vote) Berna+Colleen+Emanuel+Jay+Asaf = Ed (5 votes) Horacio+Nurys+Olivia+Ravyn+Zara = Emanuel (5 votes) Ed = Jay (1 vote) Note: No one knew what was going to happen and yet Jay blames Nurys and Olivia for betraying him when neither voted for Jay or his bestie Asaf. Like Nurys and Olivia could predict the future and know CT would pick Asaf.
I did wonder why production didn't step in and say since Corey and Jay have only one vote each they are the losers and the house needs to vote a third time but this time only for Corey and Jay.

Sidebar: Nelson"Nelly" Thomas Us Weekly confirmed that the Challenge alum, 34, was officially charged by the Austin Police Department with a misdemeanor DWI on September 28. What are the legal issues with Nelson Thomas? Nelson was officially charged with a Class A misdemeanor, due to his BAC being over 0.15. While Nelson publicly revealed many details about the accident, he remained quiet about the fact that the accident was caused because he drove drunk. He did not inform his fans that he had been arrested for it, either. Dec 31, 2023 What happened to Nelson's leg? The Challenge Veteran Nelson Thomas Faces Potential Ankle Amputation After Serious Car Accident in March. Nelson Thomas has encountered a significant setback in his recuperation from a March car accident he was involved in. Sep 30, 2023
The ankle bone around the area where there are plates and screws re-broke. It does not break for no reason. I think Nelson was too impatient and pushed himself too much. Nelly is not known for his good decision making. (According to online jail records, Thomas was arrested in December 2014 and charged with theft. -- He did serve jail time for that conviction in 2017.) I also remember how he bragged on not doing the maintenance on several cars and destroyed the engines by not doing oil changes.
What is so sad about this is that Nelly was driving drunk, had a very bad one car accident, (thankfully not other cars involved) the car was on fire and he was very lucky someone stopped and got him out of the car else he may have died at the scene. He did it to himself. Now he faces potential amputation of his ankle and states in the US Weekly article that the last 7 months were a waste. Dude you need to let the bone heal and that takes time.

Jay's head has gotten way too big in this game. Michelle's too. Jay's ego always gets him in trouble.
I am not a Jay or Michele fan but you have to give them credit for managing an alliance and keeping themselves safe to the midpoint of a season.
Jay takes a lot of credit but I absolutely believe that Michele is the diplomat, she is the core of this alliance and juggling to keep it together.
I do appreciate that Michele used to be this manic hamster having melt downs constantly. This is the most calm and confident I have seen her seen ever.
Michele has also improved how she narrates as I used to never get her explanations.
Due to the format of this game I think Michele can get to a final. I think she can run one but she is not a physical beast and unless there are a lot of checkpoints with math or puzzles she does not have the speed to win.
Jay is blowing up the game for no reason and he is hurting Michele's game because these two are too closely intertwined.
Why is anything Nurys and Olivia's faults. I didn't see Jay voted into the elimination.

Watched last week's episode again partly to see if I had missed anything.
Corey is so confident in his abilities as he and Emmanuel clearly have the best endurance in the mini final and yet watching his running gait I am not impressed. People that do a lot of running have certain look, pacing wise and Corey does not have that.
What stands out is Corey saying his is ready for "The Beast" (CT) coming this elimination and the implication is that Corey and the other males players are just as good and better than the OG's and yet they have done nothing yet in the game.
Michele is hysterical this episode as she totally denies all responsibility for anything in the game yet totally blames Olivia, Nurys, and Horacio for voting disaster that happened.
Nurys is interesting also as she dissociates her self from the US Alliance framing as Jay's alliance.
I am so looking forward to watching Jay blow up his game.

Season 39 Episode 15 - "Welcome to Conquest" - January 24, 2024
Jay is definitely getting unhinged. His reaction to Asaf was a bit much. If it was me I would have gotten into Jay's face just to see if I could get him to try hit me and get him thrown out fo the game.
Jay & Michele turning on Nurys and Olivia was a bit much and both need to back off, you can't control that many people to that degree they have their own games and strategy and are working with you, don't ruin the partnership. Michele at least knew to leave it but then Jay went full bore on Nurys. Thank you Nurys for standing up for yourself and telling him to back off.
Nurys is right there are 11 other people in on the voting why is it all her fault. Some how it is all Nurys's fault CT picked Asaf?
Both the Challenge and Survivor are set up to change their formats so it is difficult for the players to make a strategy and stick to it season after season, it would be incredibly boring for the viewer. The really good Challenge and Survivor players can pivot and adapt to the new formats and don't waste time casting blame on others. It's not like Jay was going to give Asaf any of the prize money if Jay won the final. Jay is still in the majority and very well protected what does he care at this point in the game. With 22 episodes left in the game with one being the reunion and one being the final (unless it is a two-parter) there are 5 episodes left. Rumor has it that it gets even more chaotic. Can't wait.
If Jay thinks he is getting the hero edit this season he is sadly mistaken as that is going to Kyland and Horacio. Jay is getting the douche bag edit for sure.
I have a real problem when you have men competing in really physical eliminations against women as it is so fair. Production really f***ed the format this season both in the daily challenge with the last person being automatically being eliminated and with Zara competing against Horacio and Kyland in an elimination. At this rate there will be no women in the final. Olivia claims to want to win so how come she has not been doing any cardio in the house ... hanging around Aneesa a bit too much. Jay is a pig. I know it is a game but the utter a$$holeness and vindictiveness he is showing will come back and bite him.

The girls really need to get together and set it up so that the lowest three are all men going into elimination because otherwise it will be an all male final.

OMG, I hate Jay so much this season! The AUDACITY to blame Nurys & Olivia for the stalemate, & the way he came at Kyland when they got back to the house was infuriating. And then, MORE AUDACITY to claim he has been protecting Michele this entire game! Excuse me while I go laugh my ass off on that one! He needs her, she doesn't need him. If anything, he's a liability to her game. He was one who grew on me when he was on Survivor, & I ended up really liking him. I liked him the first couple times he was on The Challenge, but not anymore. He has grown a gargantuan ego this season & although I'm glad Asaf is gone, I really wish CT would have picked Jay so I wouldn't have to listen to him anymore! I can't believe Asaf is so moronic as to say that CT is scared of Jay! The delusion is strong with that one. Hopefully he's never invited back. He adds nothing to the show. And don't even get me started on Corey...another one I can't stand. Ed is stupid to keep playing Jay's game. Like someone on the show said (it was either Horacio or Kyland), once H & K are gone, he's next. Bearcata - ITA, Jay should quit his whining & bitching, it's not like he got voted in, nor did he even get any votes. I also completely disagree with having girls go against guys in physical eliminations. Guys are physically stronger, & have more muscle mass than women. I wish the final was a female winner & a male winner. I also don't like this "chain of safety" thing they have going on in this phase. Although if Kyland or Horacio win, I'll be living for them getting revenge! But really I just don't like this format for voting players into elimination.

I hate the idea of there being only one winner, there should be a female and male winner. I also think 2nd and 3rd should also get some money, I hated when they went to the only the winner gets money format.
One of the best Challenge Final moments for me has always been Devyn Simone climbing up that volcano and crossing the finish line at the last possible moment before they had to get off the mountain all for $35,000. An Epic moment.

Season 39 Episode 16 - "Family Knows Best" - January 31, 2024 The first confessional was Ed laughing over Haracio and Zaza being eliminated and he is eliminated in the daily challenge.
Olivia - where is this girl's brain, it's total roller coaster with where her loyalties lie.
Shocker with Nurys, Kyland, and Horacio going in when it looked as if Nurys, Kyland, and Horacio would be saved.
Jay crying???? Over Nurys???? The person he has bashed for weeks.
Nurys wins? How did that happened?
Best episode yet.

Kyland and Horacio could have made it a little less obvious that they were throwing the elimination, especially Kyland. It was nice of them though Did they really? Why would they? Regardless of them being constantly targeted to go into elimination the final really is just two or so episodes away, one of them could still potentially get in and win. No one throws away $356,000 just like that.

Who is left: Corey + Emanuel + James + Jay Berna + Colleen + Michele + Moriah + Nurys + Olivia Do any of these people scream Challenge Champion to you? This was the season for Aneesa and Veronica to be on. I have a feeling if anyone besides Nurys wins they will not be respected as a Challenge Champion.
I really can't see Corey winning as he has demonstrated really does not have any athletic ability. James will gas out and has anyone seen him do a puzzle? So that leaves Em & Jay, either winning will leave a bad taste in my mouth and neither will have the respect of other Challenge winners as this is coming across as a Challenge Lite final group.
Do I think any of the girls can win? Really depends on their cardio endurance, the ability to eat some awful food, and puzzle skill. Can any of them finish a final? Michele will. Nurys has a fire lit up and can finish. Olivia does not work out per comments from others and her cardio is not so great. Berna+Colleen+Moriah's abilities are all up in the air?
I will be curious to see how many more people are eliminated next week as the cast is down to ten (10) people. If three are eliminated you still have 7 and odd number. Depends how many production has slated to go into a final 8 or 6. Will there be an equal number of men and women in the final.

I was so pissed off last night! I was on the Reddit forum for The Challenge & pretty much everyone is disgusted with the Jay & Michele Crew & especially with Olivia. I hated to see Horacio, Kyland & Nurys tossed into an elimination like that. I couldn't stand Kyland on BB, but I really like him a lot on The Challenge. I can't believe they sent 2 of the 3 home. I was like & then I wish Horacio won, but Nurys impressed me big time last night! GET IT GIRL! I hope Jay & Michele & Olivia all get eliminated right before the final. Add Moriah to that as well. Someone made a comment on Reddit that had me . They said "Moriah looks like she eats soup with a fork. James only has two brain cells & they're fighting over third place." I was DEAD when I read that. I've been laughing all day long every time I think about it!

I was DEAD when I read that. I've been laughing all day long every time I think about it! First time I saw Kyland was on The Challenge USA 1 and kinda detested him, his cockiness was too much and I was so happy when Alyssa sent him home. I wasn't thrilled to see him on this season but you could see he was not as cocky and he was trying to maneuver in the game.
Nurys impressed me too. It must have been incredibly hard to be put in a position to save your Best Friend over your new love interest and then two days later expecting your Bestie to return to the favor and does not. I got the two days from an interview Horacio just did.
I have very mixed feelings about Jay and Michele. I didn't particularly like or dislike them, I just felt they played very messy games and were not interesting personalities. I can see how Michele has grown but Jay is a total mess in how he plays the game and even in real life folks have called him slimy. Jay's problem is he does not own his mess.
I don't blame people for using whatever means they have to get to the final and win. It's how they do it. Own it, don't make excuses. At least Michele is self aware enough to understand she is a mess.
One point with Michele. Michele basically set up an alliance and got all of the remaining cast to where they are now. She does all the work and all they do is complain and expect her to fix it. Really? Michele does deserve a place in the final based on that alone vs the rest of the complainers can go hang.
Moriah/James. So replaceable with another Instagram model and random UK reality TV person.

FYI: There were only two days separating Nurys saving Olivia in episode 15 and Olivia voting for Moriah in episode 16. This was per a Kyland interview.
Horacio was gone for 4 months filming an Spanish speaking reality competition show and just flew into town approximately a week ago. He said did not have a cell phone. But he also said in another interview that he also switches off his cell phone a couple of weeks at a time. In the show he just filmed there was a family week were some of the cast played with their family members. Horacio was not a cast member that was to be included in that family episode however that show's production surprised Horacio by having Horacio's brother and Nurys participate in that episode.
Horacio said he has only seen a couple of episodes of Season 39, mostly episode 15 & 16.
In an interview Kyland and Horacio did with Anglecake Entertainment podcast both said that right as Olivia said Moriah, she regreted it and tried to change her vote but TJ said it was too late. Olivia also asked to exchange places with Nurys but they would not let her.
In Horacio's interview with the MTV Official Podcast which it did right after he got off the plane from filming the 4 month reality TV show, He did state that Olivia was cornered by Jay, Michele, and Moriah right as they were walking down to deliberation and that is when she changed her vote to Moriah.
Horacio has reached out to Olivia two weeks after the vote to talk to her and he has reached out to her since he has been back.
Horacio said he came into the show having Jay as his number one guy and Olivia his number one girl. He did not realize that Jay was targeting him since day one until he started watching the episodes. Horacio also stated that entire scene with Jay trying to explain the list to Nurys was very unpleasant.
Horacio also did not know that Jay had been talking so disrespectfully to Nurys and Olivia as the girls did not mention it. Horacio's view of Jay has totally changed.

I was listening to Bananas 100th podcast the guest is CT.
Gauntlet 3 - Big Easy collapses - The Vet Team loses.
The season had the US Army as a sponsor and in the final the reason the team was chained together was to follow up on the leave no man behind policy the army had.
Bananas wanted to throw Big Easy into elimination because he didn't think Big Easy could run a mile/finish a final. Bananas and CT were still butting heads at this point and CT figured Big Easy was strong and it would be OK and didn't listen to what Bananas said.
CT also said if they had just let Big Easy rest a bit and recover they could have continued with him and still won.
That final was only a 1.8 mile circuit with multiple checkpoints that duplicated daily challenges they had already done.
Big Easy was given a huge hotel suite and finished recovering there after he left the hospital. CT and other vets were furious with Big Easy as he was recovered enough to attend the wrap party after partly causing the Vet Team to lose the final and the money prize.

I know Nurys is coming in hot from elimination and will probably say some things to everyone left. The only way Nurys won't go into elimination is either she is the first one eliminated in the daily challenge or she wins the daily challenge and then there will be the delicious decision of where to start the daisy chain. If Nurys chooses Corey he will pick Colleen, who will pick Berna, who will pick Emmanuel, who will pick Jay, who will pick Michele, Moriah, then James. mmmm....Emanuel will have to pick between Jay and Michele. Or Nurys survives and no one decides to save her ....
Or during the daily someone is injured and someone is eliminated that may be enough for no elimination.

Season 39 Episode 17 - "Feel the Bern" - February 7, 2024 Shocked Michele was eliminated during the Daily Challenge. Chaos will Reign now that Queen Bee Michele is gone. Shocker Berna won the Daily Challenge. Mother Fluffer! Jay had one chance at Redemption and forever now will be known as "That Pathetic Creature". Berna - this is not the time to be loyal, this is the time to be cruel and cut the guys. You cannot win against the men, even this pathetic bunch. Nurys is the new Elimination Queen. All Hail Queen Nurys!
While editing showed James finishing Station 1 while Nurys and Olivia were at Station 2 I was concerned thinking does James have a chance to win the elimination? Nurys finished Station 2, completed Station 1, completed Station 3 to win while Olivia was still working on Station 2 the slider puzzle as was James. It was a total blowout.
Nurys may not be a math genius, a trivia expert, but she is showing to be a good all around player. She can do the physical, can do the social, can do the political, can do the strategy, and can do the basic puzzles. Needs to work on her swimming, but she also has heart. That is a powerful package.

When are they going to knock it off with these types of dangerous challenges? When someone dies? Or is paralyzed? They’ve already had injuries in the past, recent & also quite a few seasons back. You would think MTV would learn from it. The platform/barrel/etc doesn’t need to be so high from the water. They can do these challenges with it 8 feet off the water. The goal is to not fall off, regardless of the height.

For the sake of comparison: Platform Diving: The platform used by men and women at the Olympics is a flat, rigid, non-slip surface elevated 10 meters (roughly 32 feet, 9 1/2 inches) above the water. The height is comparable to that of a three-story building.
There is a reason why divers are trained how to dive from such heights. When they go higher than that it is always a feet first entry.
Production really needs to lower the height of some of these challenges to under 20 ft. A 3 meter board is just under 10 ft and I used to dive off them all the time and it hurts going head first from that high, and must hurt even more from 35 ft.

Oh wow. Breaking ribs is super painful, and a head injury? I thought Michelle dislocated a shoulder.
Ok. I just did a binge, and I'm so caught up. Ugh. Jay. What a disappointment. I used to think he was rather cute but ugh, he has gotten so ugly. I think it's his personality shining through. He gets so angry; he's like a petulant child. He's horrible. Disgusting. And Asaf, who acted like he's some kind of hero, can go in the garbage, too. You aren't that interesting or smart.
Olivia! SMH. What? Also, I was surprised at how she was sort of forgiven by Nurys and figured there was more to it. Also, I think Olivia is super likable and not that smart (I mean, she came from Love Island), so I think she's easier to forgive. How can she run around with a leaking implant? How can she afford another boob job???? But yeah, that would have been a much better outcome than the Jay team.
Also, Berna and the way she wears her shorts, she does this because that's how she wears them when she breakdances? What? Did I hear that right?
