Then I am naive. Maybe Jeanine had a plan, that does seem plausible to me given the fact that she got in a huff when she found out her target (Joy) was not there. But Whoopi? I think I saw raw reaction. I mean I will say I'm pretty sure when she woke up that morning she didn't plan on backing down if Jeanine talked smack, but that's Whoopi on any given day. TMZ had a clip of Jeanine leaving the studio. Did anyone see it? One of her handlers is getting in the car ahead of her and she tells her, "I go first." Yikes. Ok now I'm off to look for that clip.I have a love/hate relationship with this show. I miss Meredith.

I don't miss Rosie on this show because I don't think she really wanted to be there and that came across.

Jeanine Pirro got a lot more than she bargained for with Whoopi, and I don't believe that Whoopi knew ahead of time she was going to be accused of Trump Derangement Syndrome, so her reaction was genuine. That comment was reserved for Joy, who turned out not to be there. Joy will argue with a guest but usually back down in the end, and JP knew that and figured she'd come out looking like she won the fight. Whoopi does not back down when someone talks smack to her.

I think the big trigger was Pirro pointing her finger at Whoopie. That’s considered very rude in a lot of circles.

All the chicken talk was lighthearted and fun. I enjoy when they get giggly. Joy had a couple of great zingers.
The conversation regarding trade, however, was no joke. I've been following it closely because we're surrounded by soybean and corn fields, and even before this, our dairy farmers were holding on by a thread. This past year has been awful for them; lifelong dedicated farmers are selling off everything they own, and their cows are going for next to nothing. I fear this trade war is going to be the nail in the coffin of those who are left and thought they'd be able to hang on.
Valerie doesn't seem the least bit shaken by Roseanne = time to move on.

I agree with Meghan.....I also want to still know why FLOTUS wore that " I really don't care" jacket.......... Wow, S. Spicer's book tours are going to be rough for him. People just do not like LIARS.

I normally don't care for Van, but he was right when he said, if unemployment was this low, the stocks were doing well, if this was a Democrat, we'd be pleased/happy.... I don't care about the coat, I think she grabbed it because it was raining. Maybe not though, but I still don't care..

What has she done to help those children since that visit she probably made under duress? There's your answer.

I don't care about the coat, I think she grabbed it because it was raining. Maybe not though, but I still don't care.. Unemployment was this low, and stocks soaring at the same rate under Obama. And people were speaking out just as loudly about raising the minimum wage and making healthcare more affordable for both employers and employees. We had the same problems then -- many people have to hold down multiple jobs to make the equivalent of a living wage. The difference then was, we got something done about it with the ACA, which is now being attacked and sabotaged. I don't care about the coat either. There is so much else that's more important to focus our scrutiny on...

As to the coat, I don't have any problem with her wearing it. She's been getting unearned criticism ever since her Husband took office, maybe even before hand. She gets it for what he's done, what he hasn't done, and anything people can think of to criticize her for, including her clothes & appearance. She hasn't asked for or earned any of this. She really is an innocent party who got dragged into the national political eye, and is expected to behave the way anyone & everyone expects her to behave, whether she wants to or not. Even when she does something good & charitable, she gets criticized. I think that's what her coat was expressing, and she has that right.
I think she's a lovely, intelligent & gracious First Lady who just wants a peaceful and enjoyable life for herself & her family. Especially for her son, who is also being dragged into this against his will.
No, this ISN'T a political post. It's a Pro-Woman post. I don't give a darn about any politics involved.

I liked how he said that this is a character test for everyone in the country. I also respected him for saying that "anyone with a functioning brain stem and a beating heart should be upset" about the separations that occurred at our southern border. Both of those comments are why I so strongly agree with Meghan and her assessment of Melania wearing that jacket. It was a far bigger deal than her wearing high heels to Texas after a hurricane.

Van's point was that Dems need to work harder to be less condescending and more eye opening because he doesn't want anyone to perpetuate all of the negativity that is currently out there. He said he, for one, was not going to become what he was fighting and Sunny was asking if that wasn't being complicit, and he explained that that won't work, that the way to get conservatives to be better people is for liberals to be better too. He talked about turning the other cheek and that's when Whoopi chimed in and said it is really hard to do that when you and the people you love are being targeted by hatred and bullying, and he said he completely understood. I thought it was an extremely worthwhile and valuable conversation.

Excellent segment with Alan Alda on the show! He sure has a good outlook on life, great attitude. And his 61-year marriage speaks for itself.

I love it when they talk and laugh about their lunches. There have been times in the past where individual cast members seemed close (Elisabeth and Sherri for example) but I can’t remember a time when everyone seemed as close behind the scenes as this group is. I tend to think Megan is a big part of that. She likely worked on other casts that socialized after work and brought that to The View. Regardless of how it happened, I think it’s valuable for the world to see right now examples of being great friends in spite of political differences. We need more of that.

Meghan has said she doesn't feel comfortable going out anymore and that she eats poorly. Maybe Joy and Sunny are keeping her active so she doesn't get too low about her dad.
I read an interview with her the other day and at that time, her favorite Dem was Anthony Weiner and her favorite material object was a skull - she had a collection of them including one on her night stand. Ewww!

This is the civility Van Jones speaks of and writes about, Here is a group of people who disagree about politics. Yet, they are able to put those things aside. They go out together, have fun and that's how it should be. Noone is the enemy.
