Whoopi should wear that colour more often, it really suits her. I had no idea Sharp Objects was a series, I'm reading it right now, and I thought it was going to be a movie..

Meghan's attitude is ruining my current favorite children's story, The Pout-Pout Fish. Every time I see her in action, that's all I can think of.
Make it stop! At least Whoopi isn't letting any of it slide; she always sets the record before the end of any segment where Meghan has claimed one against all.

I've been listening to yesterday's show this morning, and would agree there were several times that Meghan got defensive in places where there was no need to get defensive. In the culture wars discussion she was so defensive she wasn't really listening, and later in the show she did it again, though I can't remember the topic. I think the reason that it happens is that at times she wrongly assumes that if a person is responding to what she's saying, the person is disagreeing. While that's on her, I do think there are some adjustments they could make on the show to curb it. First, they could quit cutting each other off to make a point. I noticed it a few times in yesterday's show where Meghan was making a point, was clearly not done, and Whoopi jumped in to say something. When it happens, it feels like the person is cutting someone else off to stop a "wrong point from being said". Meghan is guilty of doing it as well - and to be honest when Meghan does it I think her motivation IS to stop something from being said that she believes is false. So she figures others are doing the same regardless. Second - given the frequency that Joy and Sunny will take the most neutral story and find a way to slam Republicans, I think that Meghan starts to assume that everything they are going to say is attacking Republicans - and that puts her in defensive mode. When they were talking about the school that Lebron James opened, it was a GREAT opportunity to celebrate a guy who did something great, and look at the many great things that were done in the school. Instead, Joy's very first comment was to slam Betsy DeVos, and Sunny joined in on that. Is is really that crazy for Meghan to feel like Republicans are under attack on the show if they will even take a story about a basketball player doing something nice to slam a Republican?

I don't know where the blue bawling smiley went, but I was crying as much as Sara..good lord! She will be missed, as Megan's said, liquid sunshine.. Sara, much happiness in your new job

I'm going to miss Sara. She brought levity to the show. I hope she returns if her show with Michael Strahan bombs.

Way to end the season with your worst foot forward, Meghan. Such a foul mood and what an incredibly disrespectful way to treat Ana. Bless Ana for staying so calm. She's terrific and she's SMART!

Ana is such a CNN toady, I can't stand her. Why Joy and Sunny hang on to that lawyers every word, and giggle , beats me. It's embarrassing. They need a break, this was an awful show to end the season. I don't think CNN is watched by many Republicans, Meghan is right..
Avenatti has been approached by 'people' to run for President, he's loving all this attention..

It's no longer one Republican at the table, now there are often two but some viewers still aren't happy. Which makes me think that it's not just party affiliation, it's support for DT that they feel is missing. I'm not sure what can be done about that because I don't think it's fair (or legal) to hire someone because of who they voted for.
I loved yesterday's segment when they recalled their 21st year. These women and women in general have really made their mark this year.

I was hoping Meghan would announce on yesterday's season closing show that she was leaving The View, but no such luck. Her rants and yelling have gotten out of control. It has been interesting to me, however, that as a Republican she has many issues with "the guy in the White House." I give her credit for that.

Absolutely! She's jealous of Ana because she is well-regarded and asked to be on other shows that would never invite Meghan, who should take a page from Ana's book and stop with the shrill and childish reactions. I'm very sorry she was asked back for next year, but I guess her juvenile tantrums must be good for ratings. She makes a fool of herself with her emotional immaturity. It's ridiculous how she always has to comment in a hostile manner to the audience when they don't applaud for her remarks. When she was a child, her parents must have praised every dumb thing she did, and now she expects that kind of response as a grownup ... or maybe they didn't, and she needs that sort of approval now. In any case, too bad Ana is not a permanent co-host, because I would have loved for her to have felt comfortable giving back what she got from Meghan. For someone who complains so loudly and continuously about being "mistreated" at the table, too bad she didn't decide not to come back.

I've noticed almost every time Meghan is backed into a corner by one of the co-hosts for her ranting or gets flustered, she picks up her coffee cup and sips from it. To me, that's a way of her hiding and ending the conversation when she knows she's cornered or outnumbered. I find it annoying, but I do enjoy seeing her squirm a bit.

I'm not excusing or saying her actions are appropriate, but she really is outnumbered on that panel. She makes some very good points, especially about free stuff. Free this , that and the other, it's not free, as she said, so to ask where the money will come from is a fair question. She's pretty smart, and I won't excuse any of their behaviours, because they all act strangely one time or another.. Even when they are talking about something completely different, Joy makes it about the President..it gets real old, real fast... I'm glad Meghan is on for another season..

My father is getting older, I have always had a great relationship. I worry about losing him. So, I can only imagine how John McCain's terminal illness is affecting Megan. I don't know how she does it. She's outnumbered. But, the women get along great off camera. So, I take everyones attitudes with a gig grain of salt and I factor in things like Megan's Dad being in the process of dying. Everyone on this show gets overworked over some discussion-but I don't think of them as making it personal towards one another and because they go out together for fun, it's hard to take anything they say in a defensive way, seriously. That they can disagree and still have each others backs after filming is great. I like Megan. And I have empathy for her. I'd probably be off the rails if I was on a talk show every morning while my Dads health continued to disintegrate toward the inevitable end of his life.

What we see on The View is Meghan being Meghan. She's prides herself, in fact, on how many confrontations she's been in. It's like a badge of honor for her.

Anyway Megan and her hubby are going on a late honeymoon while the show is on hiatus, and then spending the rest of the time with him, which will be good for her. I don't know how she carries on either, I seriously don't..I still miss my father, very much, he was a huge part of my life

Oh don't get me wrong, I empathize as well. That segment with Joe Biden was heart wrenching.
What we know about her past shows that his illness isn't what makes her snap at people or do the sipping cup thing annifran talks about - Meghan has a very tough exterior - she's been both boisterous and strongly opinionated for years. And, she's proud of it!
Sara's mom is dealing with Parkinson's, her best friend just lost her young infant girl, and Whoopi's brother recently passed away (expectedly) so, in all fairness, there are difficult times being had by all.

Different people deal with difficult times in different ways. It’s not unusual for a person who builds up a tough protective exterior to make that even tougher during difficult times ... just like a person who wears her/his emotions on the sleeve will show even more emotions in difficult times. I don’t think there’s any way to separate the reactions or short fuse to from life challenges. I also think the women in the cast know that, which is why they are so close.

No one can know the extent of another’s pain and sorrow. Although grief is grief, how you experience it is as unique as you and me. That means you don't critisize the person or compare how they cope with other people. Politics don't matter. Only kindness does. And I'm so relieved to see almost everyone here understands that. My Dad is one of the few people I know who practices genuine compassion. He just turned 89. He's been my hero, my rock, my role model and closest friend. There will be a time now, sooner than later, that he will be gone from this earth. I cherish every single day with him, and I am in awe of how he's always practiced kindness over politics. I've never known anyone that open hearted. As a daughter close to her father, I can empathize with Megan. I believe anyone with a beating heart feels deeply for her. They don't see a republican, they see a daughter trying to get through the day as her father is dying. and in doing that, they put away critism of her interactions for another time.

When Meghan cut off Ana and told her that she basically wasn’t going to ruin her last day of season 21, all I could think to myself was what an entitled brat! I rarely say (or think) those kind of things about people but it’s the truth!

We are all very different. So everyone has something going on in their lives,it's not quite as front and centre as Meghan's pain, because of who her father is.. It's easy to judge from the comfort of our homes, and bleat about someone's pain, like we know it, we don't know, we simply don't..
