Love you, Kar . . . but I think the owl theory doesn't "fly" (pardon the pun). In an attempt to keep an open mind, I discussed the owl theory with Mr. AZC. The article you linked to said that a "microscopic feather" had been found in Kathleen's hair. Let's accept that as fact. What is more likely: - She was attacked by an owl leaving distinct markings on her skull and tearing out portions of her hair. Wouldn't that have caused more than a "microscopic feather" to be left behind? If she were batting at an attacking owl, wouldn't there be feathers all over the place? Or . . .
- She was sitting out back on a chaise lounge in an open area in a city that owls were known to inhabit. There were likely owl feathers or microscopic pieces of feathers that had fallen on the furniture as owls flew by. A piece of feather sticks to her hair. She goes in the house, sees evidence of her husband's infidelity, and when he walks into the house, she tells him that she's leaving and taking her paycheck with her. They scuffle, she falls down the steps, but is not killed instantly. He realizes that if she leaves, he's broke and his reputation is toast. So he bashes her head into the floor/walls of the stairway and - in the process - that one microscopic peace of a feather becomes stuck to the blood in her hair.
Nope, still not believing that owl theory. Love you too, AZC!!! Well I will admit it was a "stretchhhhhh" I guess I was trying to help MP!!! I mean what about that whole "blow poke" story .... how bizarre was that whole situation .... so ODD. And their best friends .... Margaret and Martha's mother died ALMOST the exact same way??? Oh and MP's double life!!! Oh but I do see YOUR theory.........very interesting.........hmmmmm!!!!!!!! Why didn't they bring up strangulation ?? and her over a million dollar life insurance?? or his affair with someone who made the Staircase..

On the apps such as roku and amazon fire tv, isn't there a way to search through movies/shows alphabetically? That seems kind of odd. Also, with movies that are expiring soon, it will list when they are expiring at the website, but not on the apps for some reason?

I watched it this weekend, too. I think it's a new show.
I had finished watching Orange is the New Black so I watched Insatiable, Everything Sucks, and checked out the Ranch (on my dad's recommendation), Dark Tourist, and I Am a Killer.
I didn't care for the Ranch so one episode of it was enough.
I Am a Killer made me angry because I felt like they were trying to make us sympathize with inmates on death row but they made their choices and that lead them to where they are. Plenty of people have a sucky childhood and few opportunities but they don't all become killers. Likewise, there are plenty of people who had a privileged childhood and loving parents but become killers anyway. Our past doesn't have to dictate our future.
I didn't care for the episode of Dark Tourist I saw but I want to watch at least one more episode to see if I want to stick with it.
Insatiable and Everything Sucks were both very good.

Thanks for the news about Ozark, Kar! I loved that series. I'll put season 1 on my binge list to watch before the new season.

I recently watched and much enjoyed The Guernsey, featuring a few actors from Downton Abbey. (Lily James, Phyllis Logan and Matthew Goode).
Also enjoyed "Like Father" and "To All the Boys I've Loved Before". But, what surprised me most, was "An Unfinished Life" (Robert Redford/Morgan Freeman)! I love both of these actors, but have always been on the fence or neutral on Jennifer Lopez. I don't know why, I really enjoyed her in Selena, but nothing she did after that ever impressed me very much. She gives a good performance in this, not Emmy/Oscar worthy but enjoyable. Becca Gardner as Griff almost stole the show.

Watched the first episode of Dark Tourist, and I have to admit seeing Westerners go to Latin America to "tour" the different areas where Pablo Escobar lived (like he was some sort of hero or something) and pretending to be a migrant illegally crossing the border quite frankly left a bad taste in my mouth. I'll give it another shot, but if it continues to glorify questionable people or do the poverty porn thing again I'm out.

That's the only episode I've watched and I didn't like it for the reasons you mentioned. I still plan to watch at least one more episode to see if I like it better. Maybe the theme of that episode just wasn't up my alley but the series as a whole might be good.

Not directly Netflix bit with Roku, I can get this channel that is all Whats My Line--that old 1950s tv show. I used to watch it in the 1960s and seeing it now I am amazed how funny and interesting it still is. Dorothy Kilgallen, Bennet Cerf, Arlene Francis and an ever changing 4th player all got along so well and were so sharp they rarely missed a line. And I love the mystery guest that would come at the end. So famous the panel had to wear masks so they couldnt see! Love watching this again.

I just finished watching this Netflix documentary on Quincy Jones, and it is so good--an amazing trip through his career specifically, the world of music in general from the '60s to now, and much, much more. I loved that it ended with the program he produced for the opening of the National Museum of African American History & Culture. Quincy on Netflix

Breaking Bad and the Tudors are the best things on that list, IMO. But I have already seen those and I cannot respect a list that refers to Reign as a hidden gem. That was horrible!

Hmmmm.... rockytopchick ..... eek, I never ever heard of REIGN!!! But absolutely, BB and Tudors was ADDICTING for me.......waited week to week for the next episode and never deleted an episode until I watched the coming previews for the next week to see if I could figure out what was going to happen next!!!

Cabins in the Wild with Dick Strawbridge: A Netflix Original
Only 4 episodes about designing a cabin based on a Welsh legend and winning a spot in a pop up hotel using the cabins. Absolutely beautifully filmed, the landscape of Wales is beathtaking. Luv the hosts, learning about Welsh history, and watching the builders fabricate the cabins.

The Dragon Prince: Netflix is great too. If you were a fan of Avatar, The Last Airbender you will like this. Great for kids and family.
Re-watching The Trollhunters also on Netflix, amazing how good it is the second time around.

I'm about half way through season 2 of Ozark and I have to disagree - season two is a big step down from season one. Just too much going on, narratively. A bit of a jumbled mess. Julia Garner is terrific as Ruth, but the season is a bit all over the place. I needed a break from it. With season 1, I don't think I hardly got off the couch - I watched it all in one go.

Yes, Critical, you cannot BLINK!!! It's not a season where you can do anything other than watch!!! (When I sit down in the evening to watch, I generally pull out my iPad and play WWF but NOT when OZARK is on!!!) Or you are rewinding and watching it again!!! I wonder what will happen in S3 with all that is going on in S2!!!

I think you're considering that a good thing, but to me, it's not. It's just TOO MUCH. The first season was much tighter. This season is a bit all over the place. I just finished up Godless on Netflix. I definitely see why it got so much critical acclaim. Jeff Daniels and Merrit Wever are incredible and so is Michelle Dockery. Talk about someone who's making great career choices post-Downton Abbey! First Good Behavior and now this.
I don't see how they'd do a second season, but it would be interesting to see them try. There were a few characters left alive at the end of the season
