I highly recommend The Big Flower Fight. This show is right up my alley - it's a classic competition show where they make sculptures made of flowers. I'm LOVING it! A. Because of flowers B. There are a father and son that just made me get teary C. There are some fun teams (I think one gentleman has a pepper grinder tattoo?) D. Everyone is likable It reminds me of 'Making It' but with flowers and "gorgeous grasses". I'm watching right now and enjoying it. I will say that I was feeling a bit hostile in episode 3 when they all kept saying "oranguTANG" over and over again. One of my big pet peeves, along with "starfish," which is not a thing - it's a sea star and definitely NOT a fish (end rant ). There was literally a sign on the metal frame that said "Orangutan." I do wish that not all of the challenges (I'm on episode 6) involved large-scale designs placed on big metal frames. That part seems a little one-note to me. I'd like to see them tasked with creating a garden or maybe a green/floral wall. Something other than giant animals and chairs and things like that. A lot of the challenges remind me of the kinds of things on floats in the Rose Parade.
ETA: rockytopchick - I haven't watched Virgin River, but give Sweet Magnolias another episode or two. He might change his mind. I almost turned it off after one episode, but it really improved and became a bit less soft and sweet, if that makes sense.

We watched the first episode of Virgin River and the first episode of Sweet Magnolias. We are trying to find something we both like. I enjoyed both for completely different reasons and he didn't care for either DH wasnt keen on Virgin River, until we got to episode three, now he's waiting for season two, which shouldn't be to far off

Last night we happened upon The Lovebirds. Quite enjoyable. A couple on the verge of breaking up get embroiled in a very weird crime/cult.
I was laughing out loud at some parts. If you want to watch just out and out entertaining, I recommend it!

"Uncut Gems" with Adam Sandler...super depressing movie but Adam deserved the kudos he got for his acting. Was nice to see Judd Hirsch in a small role.

Uncut Gems is one of those movies that I want to see after everything I've heard about Sandler's performance. But having also heard so much about it being a downer of a movie I keep waiting for the right time to watch it ... so far haven't gotten there!

Animal Kingdom starts on Thursday, Adam can wait.

Thanks for the recommendation. I watched the first episode and I enjoyed it, so I'm hooked! I do make sure I skip the recap and fast forward a couple of minutes as they always recap the previous episode and I don't need to see that, it makes for a fun 20 min episode.

Absurd Planet - I'll watch anything with nature/animals in it, but holy cow this was awful. Nice footage, totally unfunny and annoying narration. Mute it and just watch the animals. Have A Good Trip: Adventures In Psychedelics - interesting, sometimes funny stories from celebs about their experiences with psychedelics. Wasn't terrible. White Lines - I almost gave up on this, but it got a bit better halfway through. As it was, most of the characters were unlikable twits and I didn't much care what happened to any of them. The only things that made the series watchable were the gorgeous shots of Ibiza and Boxer, who needs his own series. The coked-up dogs were pretty funny, too.

I'm waiting for Reality Z to drop this week. Its a Brazilian zombie miniseries and a "remake" of Dead Set, which we loved so much we bought it. Basically, a reality show ala Big Brother, and there is a zombie apocalypse. Dead Set was brilliant so I hope this one is too.

Then I had to actually work from home and account for my time and most TV watching stopped.

Then I had to actually work from home and account for my time and most TV watching stopped. I can understand your choice though. I do enjoy Zumbo so if it were a choice between that or Chef's Line, I'd choose Zumbo myself. But, I watched the second season pretty soon after it landed so Chef's Line is what I'm getting to now! I'm still enjoying Chef's Line, but I've been skipping the restaurant episodes, I've found I don't care that much about those! Apparently I'm only in it for the competition! I finished the Big Flower Fight. It was okay. I liked it, but didn't love it. I don't know what I would change to make it better.

I ended up fast forwarding the beginning and bits through out as they would recaps bits from the competition. I saw the competition I don't need to see it again, that is what I found so annoying. Viewers do remember and don't need constant reminders during a 20 min episode.

Dancing with the Birds
This one was so much fun. It is short, sweet, informative. Stephen Fry is the perfect narrator and whoever wrote the script did a wonderful witty job and the music was perfection.

Dirty Money - The Confidence Man
Finished the episode is about Donald Trump. Just WOW.
They had a great segment where they interviewed the producers from The Apprentice and from their point of view the entire show was a joke showcasing the myth that is Donald Trump and they can't believe how America thought everything they said about Trump on the TV show was real, to them is was just entertainment and fluff.

Watching Filthy Rich right now. Very depressing. May need to switch over to something else in a few minutes. Something light like Sweet Magnolias.

I finished Trigger Warning over the weekend. I loved it! It’s not for everyone ... he proposes fixing job training through teaching trades in porn. But I found it hilarious and thought provoking.

Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell
2015 ‧ Drama ‧ 1 season per wiki
Had it on my list for ages, last day to watch is June 11, 2020. Very good alternative history story about magic being real during the Napoleonic Wars in England. Anglophiles will love it. The magic is done well. The faeries are dangerous. The tension delicious.

Watching Nadiya from GBBO's cooking show and it's really sweet and informative. I love how she helps busy people with their meal planning, and her voice is so soothing. Some of her recipes look really good.

The Letter for the King 2020 ‧ Adventure ‧ 1 season
Better than some of the reviewers gave it credit for. It is based on a Dutch children's book written in the 1960's. Although some scenes were adapted to the current social culture and are totally unnecessary to the story. I enjoyed it. It was engaging. I think kids and families can also enjoy it. I just wish folks would quit comparing every sword and sorcery novel/series that comes out to Game of Thrones or Harry Potter. When the next big thing comes it will surprise people and catch them unaware just like GOT or HP did.

It was only 6 episodes and actually went by pretty quickly. How far did you get? There were some twists in the end which I think makes it worthwhile.
