Omg we watched episode one of Sex Education. Salty language, to be expected, but we both laughed out loud!

I finished the second season of After Life last night. Loved loved loved it! And I heard Ricky Gervais say this might just be the first show he’s compelled to do a third season. Oh I hope he does!

Finished Hollywood and season two of Dead to Me, both excellent. In Hollywood, was Rock Hudson really that bad? I'd read about him having to take acting lessons, but wow. Also watched Reckoning, which was decent. It got a little off towards the end, but it wasn't bad.

I also watched Reckoning and it was OK... I thought it could have been better but they left the ending in a way that a 2nd season could be interesting.

I have never watched the Kimmy Schmidt series will I have fun doing the interactive adventure??? Yes. The interactive aspect has improved a lot since Bandersnatch, and if you dead-end in the story one of the characters is like "Hey, we didn't do so and so" and takes you back to the fork the road where you take the other choice. If you're super lazy you can just let the AI choose for you, but it's more fun to choose. The show is extremely silly and light; just the thing for this dark climate, I think.

The Wrong Missy - a few laughs to be had, but mostly it was pretty cringey. Women half David Spade's age just throwing themselves at him? Okay. Nice shots of Hawaii, though, for us travel bugs who are stuck at home. Outer Banks - lots of mildly annoying young people running amok on a Carolina beach. It's cheesy and dumb and nobody has a southern accent, but it's fun like a trashy summer novel you'd read at the beach.

Bachelor Girls - 1 hour documentary about the discrimination in Indian housing. While the main topic is discrimination against single females, there is much housing discrimination against single men. Much is based on religion, whether or not you are vegetarian or non vegetarian, the kinds of meat you eat, what region of the country you are from. Because India is so large there can be very distinct facial features depending the region you are from and people are discriminated based on that. Also there is much discrimination based on caste.

7 Days Out - Cassini Mission
She Ra and the Princesses of Power Season 5 - excellent, has underlying adult stories, good for kids, lots of girl power vibes.
Fullmetal Alchemist - live action film based on the Japanese manga - listening to the English dialog vs reading the English subtitles is a hoot.

Sex Education season one.
This show is so much more than the title would suggest. It's British, so they gloss over nothing, It tackles different genres and so many emotions. It explores many topics which are still considered a taboo, like abortion, LGBTQ and even though it based on different sex lives, desires and fetishes, it doesn't make anyone uncomfortable for having any of it. There are scenarios within scenarios and the characters are very relatable. . We both thoroughly enjoyed this comedy, but in parts, we felt their pain , the peer pressure or the sadness at feeling different. The acting is very good though. If you're looking for something light hearted and different, I'd recommend seeing episodes one and two ,you'll be hooked! I don't know what took us so long..

I’ve been watching After Life with Ricky Gervais. I can’t remember if I heard about it here or on a talk show. It is absolutely lovely once you get past the first episode. It’s about a man who lost his wife to cancer and he’s lashing out in pain at everyone. You watch him evolve through it. So poignant.

I esp love how his dog Brandy is so caring of him. It's tough at times to watch because you just wish you could make him happy again. The Postman is a riot. I love the relationship TONY (RG) has with the lady at the cemetery. I also love the relationship TONY has with the "sex worker". She really cares for him.

I love After Life. It's one that I stayed up late to watch at midnight when it released - both seasons. I'm a huge Ricky Gervais fan and, IMO, this is his best work, both in writing and acting, especially the second season. I like that he really delved into Tony's grief more in season 2. I was concerned that he'd just have him moving on from Lisa in the second season and that wouldn't have felt as realistic to me. I want him to move on, but not quite so fast.
Netflix wants him to do a third season, so hopefully, he will.
I love that, because he's an animal lover, he always reassures fans that he'll never kill the dog!
Has anyone else watched Sweet Magnolias? Just a nice, easy drama. Think. Hallmark channel, only with better acting and much better production value. I've been missing Brooke Elliot since Drop Dead Diva ended, so I'm happy to see her again. I know she's starred in a few pilots that didn't get picked up, so I'm glad she finally got a series again. I hope SM gets a second season, and not just because they ended the first season on a bit of a cliffhanger.
I watched The Lovebirds with Kumail Nanjiani and Issa Rae yesterday. Not perfect, but I love both of them. Funny little caper along the lines of Date Night with Steve Carrell and Tina Fay.
It took me a few weeks to get through it, but I ended up liking Never Have I Ever.

Just finished. I cried and cried. So glad to hear that they won’t kill off the dog if there’s a season 3. All the different stories they had to cover were so silly, but always a moral or lesson.

Sweet Magnolias is on my list, Critical I just am watching other things before I get to it. I'm glad to hear you liked it, since I only put it on my list from the description, not a recommendation. I've been very slowly watching The Repair Shop. I cry almost every episode because it's so sweet. The first episode of season two with the violin was definitely tear inducing in a good way.

I highly recommend The Big Flower Fight. This show is right up my alley - it's a classic competition show where they make sculptures made of flowers. I'm LOVING it! A. Because of flowers B. There are a father and son that just made me get teary C. There are some fun teams (I think one gentleman has a pepper grinder tattoo?) D. Everyone is likable It reminds me of 'Making It' but with flowers and "gorgeous grasses".

Special Correspondents - Ricky Gervais film good premise than got kinda flat.
Luv that Avatar: The Last Airbender all 3 seasons is now airing on Netflix. Originally it aired on Nickelodeon. This is a great animated series for both adults and children. Nice to see it getting a well deserved second run on a streaming service.

We watched the first episode of Virgin River and the first episode of Sweet Magnolias. We are trying to find something we both like. I enjoyed both for completely different reasons and he didn't care for either.
