beerbelly Dearest Readers, I am pleased to announce: In a new interview with Deadline, Simone Ashley, 27, (Miss Sharma now Lady Bridgerton) confirmed she is returning for more. "We're going to be back! Kate and Anthony are just getting started," she told the outlet. “She’s in charge of the household now and she’s got big boots to put on. I think she can do it,” she said excitedly. “I want to keep that softness and vulnerability to Kate, for sure, and she can share that with Anthony. I’m just excited for her to have a home and to have a family. I’m excited to see her grow. I think I’d like to see Kate being much braver and less headstrong and more heart strong.” ‘Bridgerton’ Star Simone Ashley Confirms Season 3 Return: “Kate & Anthony Are Just Getting Started”

It's getting closer. Bridgerton PrequelThe Bridgerton Universe is Expanding With a Prequel Series Queen Charlotte is getting her own origin story, and creator Shonda Rhimes has already cast a perfect younger counterpart.

She isn't. This is a Shonda creation, An historical what if...
Disconcerting, but it will probably be interesting.

What? My sister said the queen isn’t even in the books. Well, there are several Bridgerton prequel stories (4 I think, and one of them is Violet's story) that I have never read. But, definitely this would be all Shonda focusing on the Queen. This is so cool! I just hope they do get around to doing Eloise's story still. I've observed, that each season has more plot snips from "future" Quinn books played out in advance. Shonda keeps a very integrating story going throughout, without missing a beat. For example, Eloise does not know who is Lady Whistledown until Colin's book story, (nor does the reader), but we found out in season 1; and Eloise learned of it in season 2. So yay! We will see the Queen's love story! I'm excited!!!!

WE started watching Jimmy Savile: A British Horror Story. I remember seeing him on shows back in the day and then when the scandal broke. I can only compare him to Bill Cosby. People so trusted and loved him, the royals, celebrities..... and he turned out to be a monster. If this type of subject matter is too much for you, I wouldn't watch it. It is just awful. But the documentary is quite good.

I missed most of the pop culture of the time. Plus, I’m not much of an Anglophile. Hes got the word “vile” right in his name. It’s a shame he was never brought to justice while he was alive.

I also finished watching it and same as Gutmutter - I have never heard of him, but am appalled at the police in various venues who dismissed any complaints they received. In the end, there was acknowledgement but, the priest blessed him on his journey to join the saints - bad taste. Interesting that there was so much film footage of him - creepiest clown I've ever seen; more like Batman's Joker. Interesting to learn the history, but wow.

He reminded me a bit of Marty Feldman with his googly eyes and farcical posturing. Also Rasmussen with his unofficial council to the monarchy. Creepy as all get out. But royal jester trope in there, too. He did do a lot of good, there’s no getting around that, but it was framed as penance for his private sins. That poor girl who passed the collection plates while he groped her in his private box. She really gave voice to the hundreds of children he devastated with his actions. It was so interesting how they filmed the reactions of present day people viewing their on camera interactions with him in the past.

So much that was dismissed or at least was whispered about but no one did a thing. In the end they said he had over 400 victims some as old as 75!
The good things he did might have been to atone for the bad but it also gave him access to so many victims.
I was glad the destroyed his head stone.

We watched Metal Lords last night and enjoyed it. It was inoffensive and it was fun. My husband who loves metal really enjoyed it. I knew a few songs.

I've been watching Queer Eye: Germany for language immersion reasons and have really been enjoying it; there's many ways I like this group better than the U.S. guys. They are just lovely people and the people they helped are sad but wonderful people that you WANT the fab 5 to help; none of these episodes with unsympathetic people you can't root for. And Leni is an absolute gem.

I watched the Jimmy Savile series and was disappointed about how much of that time was taken up by lauding his achievements and talking about famous he was and how little of it was spent talking about his crimes. They interviewed a few victims and then gave some stats about how many victims he had, but that was it. I kept waiting in the first episode for it to turn and get into his crimes, but they really dragged out what should have been the preamble to a story about a sexual predator. A few edits and it would look like a story about a creepy guy who still made a lot of money for charity and helped a lot of people.
I felt it was really bloated. They could have edited it down into a 2-hour or less doc.

Maybe many of his victims didn't want to talk or couldn't? I believe there were financial settlements so maybe that is why they didn't.

Did anyone else watch Nick and Vanessa Lachey's "Ultimatum" show? A coworker mentioned it on Monday, so I started it and finished up the season last night. Holy cow, what a train wreck, but I had to finish it to see what happened!

He did, yet there were clues, even with some of the things he said.

I've been waiting & checking ever since I watched the first few they gave us. I guess this is the final end season too. I'll really miss this show. Now it someone would only give us The Crown. I'm tired of waiting for this season.
