Paris, je t'aime: Great anthology collection featuring an ensemble cast with 18 short films set in different Parisian neighborhoods. Some stories are lovely, some are sad, and some will make you think.

I didn't like Knock at the cabin. It was tough not to fall asleep during it.

Flipping around the dial and saw the magnificent last 20 minutes of "Pride and Prejudice" with Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen.
If I were told that I could only ever watch 20 minutes of any movie for the rest of my life, this one would be first choice.
"Mrs. Darcy, Mrs. Darcy, Mrs. Darcy . . . "

" Oh AZChristian, my niece is ADDICTED to the book and the movie and when her baby girl arrived last Spring she named her after P&P our sweet tiny ELIZA JANE. Yup after Eliza (Elizabeth) in P&P. And her hubby went right along with it as he knows how Kasey has watched the movie and read the book COUNTLESS times.

Sasquatch Sunset - one of the most absurd films I've watched recently. If you think you might like a nature film about a group of sasquatches doing dumb things over the course of a year, check it out. At least it was only 90 minutes long.

Okay, we watched Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. I enjoyed it, my husband not as much. My one beef was that after all these years, it didn't seem that the apes had progressed as far as I would have thought they would. Maybe I'm thinking back to the OLD movies, but it seemed like they just kind of stalled.

A Quiet Place: Day One - I was hoping there'd be some backstory/explanation about the aliens, but...nope. They just showed up and caused havoc, I guess. The story was decent, acting great. Loved the kitty.

The Fall Guy with Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt
Starts off interesting.
Takes about 5 to 10 minutes and it is so boring I started to fast forward thru the movie.
Absolutely NO CHEMISTRY between Ryan Gosling/Colt Seavers and Emily Blunt/Jody Moreno.
Plot is just stupid. The writers got paid money for this?

The Killer (2024) by John Woo on Peacock remake of the John Woo's 1989 movie.
Enjoyed it. Good action film. Both main characters had depth. It was fun and engaging and I watched the entire film without fast forwarding any parts.

I hope it's a long time before Harry Styles is on my screen again. I watched "Don't Worry Darling" a while ago because of Florence and the mid century moderness of it all and I don't know why Olivia Wilde had to hire her boytoy in such an important role because he's horrible. There was also a huge amount of drama, scandal, and mess involving that movie as well.

I need to watch Don't Worry Darling again, I was obsessed with Florence's hairstyles in that movie.
I won't be watching Breathe again. I'm a sucker for apocalyptic/dystopian stuff, and the cast looked good, but...the movie wasn't. Really dumb dialogue and characters doing too many stupid things. Boo.

I have a not so well known movie for this weekend, Late Night with the Devil. I'm a big horror buff and I heard good reviews.
"In 1977 a live television broadcast goes horribly wrong, unleashing evil into the nation's living rooms."

Civil War - I really wanted to like this one, but it just left too much unexplained, IMO. Minimal character development and poor pacing in the first hour didn't help. It wasn't awful, just not as great as I'd thought it would be after all the hype.
Mandy - super trippy revenge horror with Nicolas Cage. This dragged in spots too, but really got weird at the end. I mostly enjoyed it.
