I think I have to give Meredith credit for the way she reacted to Jen's arrest. When she made the decision that it was the final straw and she was closing the door on any friendship with Jen, she kept the focus on her and Jen. She told the other women that if they were including Jen, not to include her. She did not demand the other women take her side. She understood the boundary was for her, and that all the other women could make their own decisions. I agree that this is a good approach for real life, and it is even good drama for the show short-term, but it could get dicey logistically over the long term show-wise. |

Interesting that Hulu doesn't seem to be tying Coach Shah to her crimes in this special ... I don't know what you watched, but the ABC/Hulu special Housewife and the Shah Shocker absolutely nailed Shah to her crimes! Please don't reply to this post. I will not be drawn into a back-and-forth argument with you. This is all I have to say on the subject. |

Not a surprise at all that her lawyer would file the argument - it's their job to find any angle they can. It would be a surprise if the judge agreed with it ... but stranger things have happened. As terrible as her crimes are, I don't want to live in a country where law enforcement can ignore the laws that hold them accountable because the public has decided a citizen is a bad person.

Last night, RHOSLC returned and this time Mary and her church are under scrutiny.
The thing that got me was that Mary gave her cast mates about $15 - $20 thousand dollars of gifts from designers. It did look like a buy off.
I just read an article from the daily beast that several ex members of her church report she bullies them into giving lots of money.
The extravagant lifestyle (clothes, jewelry, homes) is not a good look for a church leader.

The gifts were no question about it a buy off. I love Whitney's comment on WWHL that she was simply trying to make her luggage lighter for the flight home.
I'm bored with Mary's nonsense when she tries to avoid having to explain herself. She tried to pretend Whitney didn't get a gift because she was talking about Mary - but everyone who got a gift was talking about her too! To many of these women have two speeds - hurl accusations and run away to avoid having to explain themselves.

I think her family is cray cray..she wanders around that big old house, and has nothing but clothes and accessories as her friends.. |

Was her grandmother also involved with or the leader of this church? I’d like to know how, and when she/her family got the church going or became the loop echelon of it. And how, when , where they got all this money.
It seems to me that it doesn’t take a fevered imagination to imagine that Mary et Al are quite possibly enriching themselves by manipulating or pressuring worshippers at the church. I have to wonder what role that had in bravos choice of Mary for the show.
In fact from snippets of conversation it seems that there were accusations, rumors, whatever about Jen’s scam. How long have these been around? When did bravo first hear them?
I really have to wonder how and why these women were selected for the shows. —not that the dramatic paradigms are all the same for all the shows and don’t change over time. But still. I highly question putting someone like Mary on. — even if she is crazy enough to accept.

Mary's grandmother founded the church. I can't remember the details now, because it's been almost two years since I researched her, but it was easy to find out everything I needed to know by doing a bit of Googling based on the into released about Mary back when the show was first announced.
